Erik Ring confirmed on a four year deal from Swedish side AIK . He was out of contract in November so I can't imagine it was too much of a fee, if any.

Can play in both wing back positions, which offers some cover as well, but by the sounds of it he's basically a winger so we clearly aren't looking at becoming more solid defensively in the coming months.

I definitely fancy Stockport for top 6 contention.

I’m inclined to agree, I actually think they probably are around that in what they spend too mind, fair play to the owners who are incredibly ambitious with big pockets.

Will be a nice little pickup. He can give our team of children some pocket money with his wage.
Considering we didn't sign anyone over the age of 27 this summer, it's a big surprise. I know we desperately need fit bodies but once everyone is available the squad will be heavily over-subscribed in the middle of the park. Got to imagine Powell will be off somewhere?

Yeah, I think Powell could be off. Not convinced he's actually been injured. Don't know where he'd go though really.

Norwood and Bate could be a great midfield partnership but I have to say I've been impressed with Callum Camps in the opening two games and hope we can see more of him next to Bate. Camps has looked tidy in his first two seasons but his runs of games have always been disjointed for one reason or another and he's never fully nailed down a spot. WIth Croasdale and Sarcevic going elsewhere, it has been a good chance for him to step up. Norwood puts a lot of competition his way again now.

I'll be fucking fuming if Ben Davies goes on loan to Birmingham and we haven't enquired.

Blues linked with a loan move for ex Liverpool and PNE defender Ben Davies, now at Rangers. Good addition if he can recreate his championship form from a few seasons back. Plus left footed centre half which we need.

Gas we have not won anything yet, just building the foundations mate.:)

To be fair we did lose a good number in the summer and JJ has recently left, CEO wanted to build a championship ready squad in league one and we seemingly are having a right go at doing that

Far too good for this league. Comfortably a top half Championship centre back. Pacey and great on the ball. I'd happily have him back.

Got told last night we’re in for Luke Bolton from Wrexham.

As others have said, he's quick AF, but I was told by a Salford supporting mate when we got him...so was Linford Christie...and he couldn't cross a ball either.

He was right I'm afraid...skins the FB then hits the cross over to the opposite corner flag or straight to the near-post defender - that type of (frustrating) player!

Any Wycombe fans able to give an opinion on Gideon Kodua who they had on loan from West Ham last season?

We’re linked with him. Looks very quick and skilful, can play as a winger, wing back or CAM apparently so would be handy from that perspective. I’m hearing the usual ‘very highly rated’ chatter from West Ham fans who’ve seen him in their u23s, but no nothing about him!!

Ooops, missed this post first time around, but never mind, cos we’ve gone and re-signed him!

To me, it’s a good, not great signing. But he definitely showed flashes of potential even if raw - but of course if he were the finished product he wouldn’t be coming to us.

So I’m pleased he’s back with us, but if he’d gone to Exeter I wouldn’t have been bitching and moaning.

Got told last night we’re in for Luke Bolton from Wrexham. Dale Taylor on loan is close aswell.

Dale Taylor would be a decent signing but you have to play him in the right role. Yeah I know - duhh, don’t you have to do that for any player? - but we struggled to get the best out of him at times.

To me he looked best as a No. 10, and especially in games where he got time and space.

So in the Tinpot Trophy games playing v EPL U21 kids, they aren’t necessarily taught to pile into the oppo the second they have the ball - and he relished the space, and looked great.

But sometimes in the cut and thrust of normal lower league football, he could get lost at times.

Finally, we also signed Aaron Morley on loan from Bolton. He’s scored against us a couple of times and we tend to like signing players who’ve done that.

Haven’t looked at Bolton’s squad of late but I imagine they have plenty of Champ level quality in there, so it’s possible that Morley is a perfectly good L1 player who just isn’t getting a sniff right now, so no shame necessarily in taking another L1 side’s sloppy seconds.

3 year deal is a bit mad for a 33 year old central midfielder
Absolute batshit behaviour. Stockport haven't learnt from the Powell fiasco it seems. Another ex-Prem star to add to the 40 man squad list.

What was the Nick Powell fiasco?

Very important player in the Championship win and will make us money in sales by the sounds of things.

I always wonder what the thinking is behind loaning a player to a side in the same league. They are literally improving the opposition. Unless its Ryan Loft of course...

Loophole in the system means Norwood is going down as a coaching signing because he's going to be helping young 17 year old Che Gardner and our extremely young squad so much that he's basically a youth coach.

Apparently if you have over 65% of your squad under 24 which we do, you're allowed to nominate a coach free of charge and his (or hers) wages go to the coaching budget not the playing budget.

Good business yet again.

On the ball, Morley has attributes that could easily be Championship. The passing, shots from range, dead balls but it's out of possession that he's a bit of a liability he lets the game bypass him & doesn't get stuck in. It would not surprise us if he's absolutely class for yous, I just think whilst we have Sheehan who does the same job he needed to go & get his confidence back.

Interesting, thanks. Seems an odd choice though if he's not a grafter as we kind of demand that from everyone.

I guess maybe it's not so much of an issue if you don't really see a side as any kind of promotion rival or whatever - and it'd be fair of Bolton to think that, we're unlikely to manage any serious promotion challenge this season.

A tilt at the last playoff spot at absolute best, but I think 8th-12th is more our level this time round.

Don't get me wrong he will run & graft giving 100%, no qualms with his effort but he’s a plodder at getting around the pitch & not very efficient with his energy so can look like a headless chicken at times when the game isn’t going your way. On the ball is a different story, the lad is pure class & it’s a shame that he’s not pushed on because we know how good he can be. A change of scenery & a new coach may well re-ignite him because I do think Evatt does overcoach players to the point they become robotic & lose their spark that they came with.

Our Owner confirmed we’re around 10th in budget but he’s pushing DOF and DC to overachieve and is hoping for top 6.

I was expecting that to say 1 year deal. Crazy contract length for the age.
He had Championship clubs offering him two year deals.

I’m not totally on board with it but not a chance in hell he was signing for us on a one year deal.

...normally I'd agree, but to be fair to him (and his mates he usually goes with)...he's followed em from waaaay before the 'consortium' took over. What you'd call a proper fan!

Challinor said post match that we think we’re done but we’re also down to 14 fit outfield players so any more injuries and you’d imagine we’d have to change our minds.

Still think it’s odd we’re not after a RB/RWB on loan with MSH, Knoyle and Connolly out for varied lengths of time and Mingi who’s filled in there picking up an injury today to compound that.

What on earth do you do to players at Stockport? The sheer number of injuries you suffer can't just be bad luck can it?
