B Grant has a beauty of a left foot. He cuts inside and bends them in for fun.

It was alledged that he racially abused a Dagenham player when he was with us, but he got off.

I'd have him back at Dale. Good signing.

We've got someone called Jim McCallister on trial? Ex Dundee player. Played well yesterday by all accounts.

Billy Sharp returned from Leeds' pre-season tour. Whole thing being drawn out due to Cellino apparently but coming to a close now it seems.

Just to throw our names in to also needing at least one new cb.

We supposedly have given a trial to Paul Anderson who last played for Ipswich.

Mowbray spotted at Rhyl vs Everton U21 supposedly watching Matthew Pennington who we had on loan last year. Would love him back again and would make the defence look very solid:

Ricketts Pennington Johnson Stokes

Former #CreweAlex midfielder James Bailey has left Barnsley with a year left on his deal to "pursue other football opportunities"

We dodged a bullet not signing him last Summer I feel.
Too right. Remember 12 months ago being dead set against signing him whilst a number of Crewe fans wanted him back. He's powderpuff, injury prone and way too focused on being a pretty boy. Would have been on a lot of money too.

Don't get the hype for James Bailey at all and firmly agree with JJ as his points basically sum up mine as well.

I get the feeling he could pop up abroad, namely the MLS or India where a number of FL pros are heading such as Chris Dagnall. If not then it's almost certain a League One/maybe SPL club will attempt to sign him and thus be left completely disappointed when he gets crocked for the umpteenth time.

Bailey only really had one truly exceptional game for us (against Vale) in the middle of a decent bit of form and seemed to get a decent move off the back of that.

Bailey was excellent for us under Robins. He was just protected by Jennings which suited him down to the ground. Wouldn't mind him back as a squad player.

I thought he was good for his first spell but after we extended his loan he was pretty average, especially after Robins left. We need to focus on strikers and wingers right now massively.

I agree that we obviously need new attackers and I expect us to have them in. We will not be going in to the Wigan game with Tudgay as our only senior striker.

While talking about this, the Leon Best rumours have been rubbished anyway.

Well this (presumably) fake Exeter pre-season friendly team-sheet has confused everyone. A few players (most notably Hooper...the rest are youth teamers) are listed here but not on our twitter page as in the squad.

I'm not panicking. Overall we've strengthened our team. Still a lot of quality not yet tied up.

Another 4-6 players still to come in, according to our joint chairman.

Now Felipe Morais looks to be out for the full season, we're looking for 2 right wingers. We need a CB to replace Andrew Davies, and a goalkeeper. From there, I think we'll sign Greg Leigh as covering LB, and Luke Hendrie as cover for Darby.

Which would leave us with;

GK: First Choice ???
GK: Ben Williams

DF: Stephen Darby
DF: Rory McArdle
DF: James Meredith
DF: Davies' Replacement
DF: Alan Sheehan
DF: Greg Leigh
DF: Luke Hendrie

MF: Gary Liddle
MF: Billy Knott
MF: Felipe Morais
MF: Tony McMahon
MF: Mark Marshall
MF: Josh Morris
MF: Christophe Routis
MF ANother two wingers

ST: James Hanson
ST: Steven Davies
ST: Billy Clarke
ST: Luke James
ST: Jon Lewis

Should be good enough to challenge top 6.

I don't think we will get in the top 6. Hopefully I'm wrong.
