Ruben Lameiras on a two year deal.
Mowbray now saying no strikers for at least a week, ffs
Sounds like we've offered trialist keeper Dave Richards a deal. Apparently like we'll be getting an answer from him early next week. Also finding out about Stephen Kingsley on loan from Swansea at the same time. Hopefully it's good news, time is running out to find a LB and we have nobody that can play there currently.
Also need to get a shift on with signing an extra CB, need someone in before the season starts.
Come again? Richards(GK), Kingsley(LB) and Tate/an experienced CB are the only players we're currently targeting I think. Where do you get the idea we're looking for 2 CBs from?
It does, but we've got two tough opening games and if we're not ready we could easily get off to a rocky start. Fully trust Mowbray to bring in the right players but I'd much prefer if we had a more settled squad going into the start of the season.Sky Blues are currently short in attack but Mogga is 'pretty confident' the club will be bolstered by the start of new campaign
Coventry City boss Tony Mowbray admits his bid to draft in new strikers is slow going but he remains optimistic that he’ll get his targets over the line before the big kick-off against Wigan Athletic on August 8.
“It will come and I’m sitting here pretty confident. It might take another week or so but that’s OK."
If anything, that sounds positive.
Gillingham were at the lower end of L1. Lower L1/L2 isn't all that different.
Seems Mansfield have a sell on which will see them receive around £150k-£200k. Doesn't seem like anyone got shafted here.Apparently £1.3m for Clucas. It's never enjoyable when (another) one of your better players is sold but actually in this case, for that amount of money, the club don't have a choice to make, it's a good move for the player and a very good price for the club.
Good to see Mansfield fans dribbling with excitement about our "misfortune" yet as is often the case, the joke is on them. We're selling a player for over a million pounds for a player they sold to us 10 months ago for about 70k. LOL.

From their point of view, it represents some good business. They signed him for free, had him for a year and have now made around £250k-£300k on him.
From your point of view, same deal. Years work, small investment, large profit. However, Sean Taylor reckons 70% of what you keep will go towards reducing debt, leaving you with around £250k to spend on new players. Not all that much.
Nathan Clarke was at our friendly today. I think that could be a decent signing.
