We've just announced the signing of Louis Thompson, formerly of Portsmouth, joining his brother at the club. Seems to have made plenty of appearances at League One level, will hopefully prove to be a decent addition.

The only reason we didn't keep hold of him was because of his bad injury record. If he can stay fit, he's a top end League One midfielder, undoubtedly. Getting his brother in at right back is a shrewd move too, he is the master of winning cheap free kicks.

Nope - we haven’t signed anyone.

Hoping there’s some done deals that have just yet to be announced because contracts don’t officially expire till the end of the month.

I have to say I’m a little nervous just because it’s vital that our (nearly) new manager gets his signings right, after our season petered out apathetically once he’d taken over.

As a rookie manager he certainly needs to be given time, but he’s made noises about playing more of a passing style and being far less direct than under Ainsworth…which is OK, but have we got the players to do that?

Are we the only club left in L1 who are yet to sign anyone??
We took ages last season to sign players after the play off final, seemed to leave us in a more difficult position losing 4 weeks on most league one clubs…

So much so we started the first couple of games with a youth team midfielder debuting up front.

We did most of our business in August (well deadline day!)

Looks like we might be getting Kane Wilson from Bristol City for 100k. Don’t know a lot about him tbh. Any Forest Greeners got the lowdown on him?

Good signing Kane Wilson.
Don’t know much about Dacres-Cogley.
I’ve seen Tranmere fans on socials saying he’s too good for league 1 and should be getting a champ move. Sounds promising. Always going to be tough to replace Bradley no matter who we go for. I think if we sign both it also confirms that he sees Geth as a centre back rather than a wing back for this season

Cheltenham fans, one of our posters who has got most things right the last few windows reckons George Lloyd was keen on coming back to us on a permanent deal but you don't want to let him go which is pretty much what has previously been said would happen. We've signed Danny Rose now so that'll be the end of that I reckon. Hope Lloyd gets a chance and kicks on for you.

Two signings in a day.
Josh Gordon ( 15 goals last season - no idea if he is any good )
And Cole Stockton ( mr in and out )
Lots of potential with Stockton, comes with baggage but overall I’m happy.

Josh Gordon is quick, decent in the air despite being small and likes to play on the shoulder of the last defender. Done very well for Barrow over the past couple of seasons but I think League One will be a step too far.

If I was a top half L1 club looking to bring in two right wingbacks, Wilson and Dacres-Cogley would have been the players I would have chosen. Wilson is a bit better on the ball and D-C has the better engine. Excellent business for Bolton IMHO.

Kane Wilson is great. He, along with Josh Key, were probably the best two RWBs in L2 the season before last. Think he had an injury last season which stopped him from playing much for Bristol City.

We had him on loan a couple of times and he loves to get forward and beat his man. Plus he’s young so will undoubtedly improve too so he should be a real asset.

Stockport County.
Dacres-Cogley has a great reputation but his performance at E.P for Tranmere last season was one of the worst by any opposition player all season. Must have been a one off.

Local media reporting that we are willing to write-off Denver Hume's £200k transfer fee and let him leave for nothing.

One of the strangest transfer signings of our recent past. We didn't play a wing back system. We sign a wing back for relatively big money. And continue not to play a wingback system. Another mess Danny Cowley left us with.

Linked with Lincoln recently.

I think that's pretty much what we all thought - this is his absolute last chance with the club now. He's a local lad that everyone really wants to succeed. His confidence was completely shot before the Grimsby loan though, so it's actually a little bit exciting to see how he is on his return.

Everytime we played Tranmere in the last 2 seasons (5 times) he caused us problems, good signing for Bolton. Him and Wilson two excellent options for this level.

Joe Ward from Peterborough and Josh Vickers become our first two signings.

Ward signs in a position of much need, but I’m not completely convinced. 7 goals and 10 assists from right wing back is obviously a great return but he’s an erratic footballer and honestly I would’ve preferred someone a little more accomplished.

Vickers is obviously a keeper our management likes as a dependable back up. No doubt it’s good for us to bring in someone they feel like they trust in case Wildsmith goes down.

All that being said, I hope the next announcements are more inspiring.

Vickers, when fit, is better than Wildsmith but prone to getting injured.
He was better than Victor Johansson when we were in League 1 but he got injured and never got his place back.

I wish him well, he never let us down and if he has to sit on a bench every weekend, he might as well do it for more money.

Wildsmith has been absolutely faultless in a Derby shirt to the point that him, McGoldrick and Cashin were in a league of their own as our three best players last season.

I was no great fan of Wildsmith before he signed for us, but he really has been excellent for us. Glad to hear Vickers is a dependable deputy though.

When our GK coach Warrington moved from here to Rotherham, he took Vickers with him under Warne so that'll be the link there.

As Millerbri says though, and not that it'll matter if he's your back-up 'keeper, he's got a dodgy thigh because of his kicking technique and you'd do well to get 20 games out of him.

We are after Oxford’s Jack Stevens who was on loan to Port Vale last season.

Most likely a back up.

Rob Street set to be our first signing of the summer - played on loan at Shrewsbury last season and their fans seemed to rate him

He's crap
Yeah just didn’t really save anything, most shots went in, wasn’t commanding and his kicking was awful! Not to mention dropping a cross into his own goal in what at the time was a huge game at Accrington.

Have a pop from 20 plus yards and 9/10 it’s in the net.

Most disappointing signing of the season for me.
