Of course there are multiple factors involved in a player moving. I’m sure Friend was sold the whole package by Barton and he may well feel he will have a more successful season with Bristol.

But, let’s be honest, money and length of deal is often the deciding factor. If we offered Friend £2k per week and Rovers offered £3k, then it’s a no brainer for him.
Big word there is if, of course. Not saying I disagree with you (that we offered more, probably did), just that it’s unfair on him or us to just assume it’s only down to money

Nombe would be a good punt for a Championship side if he's only costing a million.

I'd be all over it if we can't bring back Tom Cannon. We're certainly no strangers to dealing with Exeter, thrown £1.5m at them in recent seasons.

Signed Zac Jules from MKD.
One year deal but paid a fee...

Carlisle linked with Sean Maguire. Manage his hamstrings and can be a decent number 10.

Not sure if it's a mental thing, with him thinking his hamstrings can go at any time, but he just can't accelerate or shoot with any power these days. Still a clever player, who can link up well and win free kicks though. I'm doubtful he'll ever hit double figures in his career ever again though, regardless of the level.

Good player he is, but the last thing we need is a player with hamstrings made of plasticine.

Supposedly, the scar tissue there is so bad that he can't even feel it when they pull or tear.

Clearly just needs the right club..
Then he better get on his bike again and travel the extra miles to Plainmoor / Launa Windows ? Anyway the team that beat you 4 - 1.

Charley Kendall has gone to Dagenham for the season but still available for us in the EFL Trophy games.

Not worked out here so far, didn't have a great time out on loan at Sutton or Bromley but the jump from NLS to L1 is very big albeit I'd have expected him to make a bit of an impression in his loan spells but didn't. Probably his last chance to kick on if he's to have a future here.

With the final pre-season friendly tomorrow, we'll probably start seeing the young lads and fringe players depart on loan or permanently to create room in the squad.

Rumours swirling Marc Leonard has chosen to come back to Sixfields from Brighton for another year. Would be a top top signing.

Can’t remember a time when we’ve got promoted and not ripped the squad up in the next transfer window. Be interesting to see if it does us any favours.

We allegedly have him pencilled in as a replacement for if/when we sell Moxon.

Back to the drawing board I guess.

Fella from the daily record and a Brighton journo both say he’s ‘set to rejoin’.

He’d be very good if you could get him, can really set the tempo in the midfield and for a young lad on loan he loves getting stuck in.

Sean Maguire signed. 1 more striker, a keeper, and I'd say we're about there.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
He can fill the role Dennis had of the poacher role which may reduce the injury risk.

If I remember Michael bridges was an injury crock before he came to Carlisle the ended up one of simpsons best ever signings, he can manage players quite wel Simpson, find his weakness is more tactically but he always seemed to manage his players well.

Re Zak Jules, seems like he’s had good spells at Walsall and Fleetwood, was ok at MK and poor at Vale.

Hopefully he will give us some cover for Hartridge and add a bit of pace to our back line. Can play LB too which is handy. Welcome to SJP!

Yeah, hopefully we've pretty much got the keeper sorted since Langley has been with us since the start of preseason. After that, striker as you say, someone with pace I'd hope and then look and see what we can get on loan, the better players won't be available till relatively late in the window. Would be happy to get Gordon back from Palace, especially if he can bring Scotty Banks with him.

Michael Smith is involved again this afternoon, and we've also got Curtis Thompson on trial as well.
He was our best player when he was here. Long time ago that was though. Think he married a local girl so probably why he is looking to move back to the area

Marc Leonard confirmed on loan again from Brighton. Excited to see how he performs in L1. Should suit him slightly better than L2, especially against the bigger teams.

Northampton going for it in L1.

That's two quality signings this week.
