Love Eaves, he was fantastic for us across two seasons. Yes he can win a lot aerially and a back post header is a regular occurrence, but you'd be surprised how many of his goals were just technically really good. He's physical, a willing runner though lacks a bit of pace, a proper 'team' player who just comes across as a really good bloke that you want to do well.

He deserved a crack at the Championship after his form with us and though it hasn't quite worked out for him up there he's still plenty young enough to be a problem in League One. I'm actually going down to the Northampton friendly against Norwich this weekend so it'll be good to see him.

I'll leave you with this - Eaves with the opener in our win at Portsmouth a few years ago. Not bad.

The little bit of form we got out of Morton was with him partnering Vadaine Oliver up front, I'm taking from that he's not as one dimensional as Oliver was?

Glad to know he we was well loved, Brady certainly values attackers who are willing to put in hard yards up front.

Interesting, two different ways to mix it up but will it be hard to interchange between playing Pinnock/Hoskins wide while trying to play 2 up front? especially if Eaves/Morton don't want to play from out wide like Appere.

Seems like we are also wanting to sign Jack Wells-Morrison on loan from Palace.

Could see Morton in behind Eaves? Playing off him in the 10?

There's more to him than Vadaine for sure, but then again similarly to Eaves Big V had his most productive spell of his career with us as well and showed things with us that he hasn't done elsewhere. Not sure why both were so successful at Priestfield but they were both fantastic in a blue shirt.

I think Eaves has a decent enough rep with the fanbases wherever he's been as far as I know so I'd be surprised if he didn't get a bit of love from the terraces. Give him that and I'm sure he'll produce.

We have signed some talent from Chorley called jack hazelhurst
I know nothing about him. Chorley fans seem gutted he is gone and rate him highly.
Fee up to 100k.

I wish you'd take Billy Waters.
Since he's been with us, as ol' Chubby used to say; "Couldn't score in a brothel with a fiver sticking out of his ear..." Which means wherever he goes, he'll start banging em in for fun, you watch. :ffs:

I’ve been in Dortmund so catching up on here.

Ryan Loft I expect to be a top signing as the same Port Vale fans tried to tell us they had the best goalkeeper in the league, James Wilson was on fire and going to terrorise league one and they should have won a game they lost 7-0 in.

Right, I’m off to Berlin.

Kellan Gordon has signed for Notts County. That's 8 of the starting 11 from Wembley now gone.

We had 3 trialists tonight, one was left back Matt Penney who hasn't had a club for a year since he was on loan at Charlton and one was Louie Watson who was on loan at Charlton from Luton last season. No idea on our third one who was a right back.

Confirmed as Sam Hutchinson today. Pretty sure we can do better, can’t we…?

Also had Luca Ashby-Hammond in goal, younger brother of Stevenage’s stopper.

Evatt did a fans Q&A alongside Big Sam last night, charity doo.

Confirmed that we’re looking around Europe rather than focusing on UK based players, and we’ve got a number of 7-figure bids in for some of them.

Seems like we’re throwing the proverbial kitchen sink at it this season, which is good to see but worrying at the same time should we fall at the final hurdle for the 3rd season running.

Yep was Hutchinson today, was an ex Oxford right back at Hornchurch on Tuesday - looks like he’s gone though.

Louie Watson also played again today for us.

Looks to be a top signing if his personal problems are behind him. Great pedigree with lots of ability, let’s hope Monk can unlock it.

We had Ashby-Hammond on loan from Fulham last season . He looks good and then has brain farts but mostly OK. He couldn't displace Addai and went to Notts County for the second half of the season. Not sure but I think he was in and out if the team there too.
Who are the 3 remaining?
Dion Conroy (cb) Jay Williams (dm/cb) & Jeremy Kelly (wm).

Kelly has actually just signed a new contract

Casey

Note, we had two Kellys in the team. The one who scored has left.

I know it’s really hard to make it at the top level as a goalie as it’s such an oversubscribed position, but I’m surprised that Blackman has gone on to just be seemingly a fairly run-of-the-mill journeyman keeper since he was on loan with us a while back. Looked pretty promising back then.

When he went to Burton quite a few of our supporters were disappointed that we hadn't gone for him. It didn't take long for them to realise that we'd dodged a bullet.

He couldn’t be arsed much when he was with us the season before last and he was always carrying some extra timber.

Our resident ITK on Exeweb has said we’re signing a ‘keeper this week which is very likely Joe Whitworth on loan from Palace.

He also said that a centre half is leaving, which some are speculating is Will Aimson. Apparently he was close to leaving in January but it fell through…I’ve seen Wrexham mentioned as a possible destination. If he goes, we will obviously need to replace him. He’s had an up and down time here - his form was wretched pre Christmas but he made multiple good performances in the second half of the season, so he will be a miss.

It seems we had a 'derisory ' bid for Ewan Otoo of Dunfermline turned down. Never heard of him.

In other news our chairman has said to expect 10 signings before the start of the season, maybe more. He says we will be excited by some of the names. I'm betting on non league and loanees then.

We’ve backed off Randell’s from Peterborough now.

It seems we’re putting a bid in for Karamoko Dembele from Brest.

Not sure if this is one of the 7-figure bids that Evatt mentioned last week.
