Good news. Williams' five-year contract is among the most important at the club in my opinion and only reaffirms that Lee Power knows what he is doing.

As for Sherwood's role at Villa, I'd expect a couple of Villa's kids to turn up at the County Ground next season. I know their first team has been awful for several years but I think I'm correct in saying that the Villa academy is very highly rated and among the best in the country, so we could really benefit from that.

Got defender Chris Atkinson on trial, was on loan at Hartlepool early in the season but not sure what happened.

really cant think to be honest. Logic would have said itd be one of our youngsters, Adams, Reed or Kennedy but would be disappointed if any went on loan. Wouldn't be Turner, Brayford, Harris, Basham, McEveley, Murphy, Coutts, Doyle or Done. Holts on loan...so that would leave Reed out of the players that started. Off the bench we had Alcock, Freeman and McNulty. Cant see McNulty or Freeman going out on loan...so out of all id hope it would be Alcock.

decent defender, awful going forward but strong in the air. Favoured position with us was rb but now 3rd choice behind Brayford and Freeman. Has played CB and (I think) LB.

think he played for posh last season so they'll be able to tell you more.

For Christ sake don't put him at left back. We insisted on doing it and it was horrendous.

Pretty much what blade said though to be fair. Decent in the air and a solid defender, but don't expect much if anything going forward. If you want your defenders to just defend, you'll struggle to find much better at this level.

When he has a stinker though, he really does have a stinker.

he started off quite well for us but had a couple of stinkers so we put Flynn at rb (normally a r winger) and he was much better and Alcock hasn't had a look in since.

Pete Winkelman has just said in an interview that we lost out on Matt Done because the Dele Alli deal was done late, which allowed Sheffield United to nip in.
