Bolton apparently want Wyke, can’t see it hapoening unless they come up with a silly fee (£1m+) which would be a total rip off from their point of view. Then again Edin is unpredictable.

Not a transfer, but last-game-hero and general good egg Joe Thompson has signed on for another season at Dale. Gives useful cover and competition for a variety of positions - wide, midfield, up front - and in a way his versatility may have stopped him nailing down a starting spot.

Can any Gills fans give any info on Jake Hessenthaler who we've signed on a 2 year deal, most players we sign we get told by their ex clubs fans that they are shit so an improvement on that would be good thanks. ;)

Hess will be a good signing for you in league 2 as he has never let us down in league 1. He has a very good engine and will work as hard as anyone. He is tidy on the ball but tends to move it a bit too slowly, and prefers a safe ball over taking a risk. He is not a physical tackler like his dad, but he does get stuck in and reads the game well.

He seems right footed so perhaps for JJ maybe? Also seems that he has played defensive midfield in his time as well so maybe a player to rotate with McCormack as well.

Personally really hope its the latter and thats a real gap we need to fill IMO.

Dale have signed veteran striker Aaron Wilbraham (formerly of Bolton, and several others). We've also extended Calvin Andrew's contract until June 2020.

Goodness me, how has Calvin had such a lucrative career as a footballer is beyond me!

Seems like he has played most of his football at full back and played plenty on both sides. Judging from transfermarkt (which isn't always accurate but is as good as is available at our level for such data) he's really only filled in at DM here and there.

Him being a right footer doesn't necessarily make him a JJ replacement- if West Side Vinny on Outlaws is to be believed (and he usually is) JJ might well be our first choice left back next season with Potts the more likely to leave of the two due to contract situations. If this fella from Barnsley can cover both full back positions and potentially CB/DM in a pinch that'd be very useful for us I think. If it's true of course.

Great news for you and Wilbs. He won't let you down and is held in extremely high regard at our place.

Looks like we are signing Sean Longstaff from Newcastle. Looks like it may be a loan, but hearing we are trying to do it permant. Looked like he has a good season at Blackpool last year. Also hearing Anton Walkes from Spurs is nearing conclusion. Was very good for us last season. Marked Otzumer out of the game at FP and did a good job on Powell too.

so Abu Ogogo has turned down his contract offer and looks to be following Junior Brown down the M6 to Coventry. A big loss for us as he was the heartbeat of our team, setting the tempo and breaking up attacks. Doesn't do any of the fancy stuff but you certainly notice when he's not there.

If they both recover fully from their injuries, Cov have made 2 excellent signings. They are certainly throwing some money at it for next season in terms of wages.

We've got some big holes to fill in our squad now - Askey has his work cut out - but I guess this was inevitable after the season we had....

He's been pretty decent for us. Trebled his previous scoring rate (ok, from 2 to 6 per season) and at times last season was the only player we had who looked capable of defending set pieces.

Made 2 signings yesterday in Chris Maguire & Jon McLaughlin.

I imagine the Maguire signing is just an extra body as we'll need about 14 players in. Looking through Bury fans' comments he has an all too familiar attitude in a struggling side so I'm basing this on nothing but blind faith when I think that he won't be as bad for us.

Incomings wise: Lyle Taylor and Dylan McGeouch still linked but both have gone a bit quieter. Also linked in the papers with I think every League One, Scottish and lower Championship player.

Outgoings: Our wage bill still tops £20mil but with Jack Rodwell reportedly off to the MLS or Greece and Paddy McNair off to Boro that'll be reduced somewhat. Just Kone, Khazri, Ndong, Oviedo, Djilobodji and Cattermole to shift off next and we're golden.

We could kick the Charlton game off with about 7 players.

Erm, he had an unreal start to the season (5/6 goals I think?) and then I think professional football caught up with him and he was just a passenger for the majority of the rest of the season.

Has a great strike on him, needs to toughen up a bit.

He's only 20 so not surprised. Had a few like that last season. 9 goals from midfield not too shabby record for your first proper season in pro football. KJ likes a rough diamond. Hope its a permanant deal. Means we have good core of young players with league one experience who will hopefully improve and have decent resale value

If your manager keeps Chris Maguire happy then you'll likely have a very good player on your hands. If not, I suspect it won't help the dressing room atmosphere.

Michael Appleton got the best out of Maguire and he is liked at Oxford for his time playing here.

We've confirmed the signing of Ashley Smith Brown from Manchester City for an undisclosed fee. 22 year old left back.

I hope you only paid with a packet of Crisps based on his loan appearances for us last season. We sent him (and the other Man City loanee) back early as they were awful. We preferred a utility/makeshift left back in Josh Ruffels over him.

Dread to think what you paid for him. Did not look good at all.

Just signed Matty Pearson from Barnsley on 3 year deal, undisclosed fee. What's he like Barnsley fans, can't say I know too much.

If we are looking to play him fullback you'd think it means either James Justin or Dan Potts will be off, likely the latter.

It's a shame, we were linked last season maybe just because he's a Bradford(well Keighley) lad, but I think we might have been out bid or looked elsewhere, I wouldn't have minded us trying again. But he had good reviews from Accrington, believe he mainly plays Centre Back, that's what we were after at the time anyway. Maybe the championship was just a step too far for him.

Over £500k potentially paid for this player. A profit according to the Barnsley CEO.
I find that hard to believe.
