Sunderland aside, this could be the lowest attended round of fixtures in the EFL ever.

From League One and Two:

Sunderland V Peterborough - 28,727 (672)
Coventry vs Portsmouth - 11,102 (1,961)
Barnsley vs Plymouth - 10,770 (225)
Oxford v Luton - 6,769 (1,171)
Notts County v Crawley - 5,098 (-)
Walsall v Shrewsbury (local derby) 4,555 (806)
Northampton v Bury - 4,073 (170)
Mansfield v Oldham - 3,829 (441)
Exeter v Stevenage 3,671 (56)
AFC Wimbledon v Bradford - 3,630 (224)
Scunthorpe v Charlton - 3,341 (250*)
Port Vale v MK Dons - 3,339 (124)
Carlisle v Grimsby - 3,316 (143)
Cambridge v Forest Green - 3,058 (61)
Crewe v Swindon - 2,761 (218)
Newport v Macclesfield - 2,624 (52)
Colchester v Yeovil - 2,435 (93)
Accrington v Doncaster - 2,327 (546)
Fleetwood v Wycombe - 2,304 (-)
Rochdale v Bristol Rovers - 2,301 (198)
Burton v Southend - 2,149 (-)
Cheltenham v Morecambe - 2,095 (36)

Not got a figure for Tranmere v Lincoln, but I will assume it’s 5k+... only 6 games tonight in League One and Two attracted a crowd of over 5,000.

8 fixtures attracted a total crowd of less than 3,000.

7 fixtures attracted a total crowd of less than 4,000 (but more than 3,000)

5 fixtures attracted away followings of less than 100, with one (Morecambe) attracting just 36 away fans.

4 fixtures attracted away followings of less than 200 (but more than 100).

Chuck in the Championship and two more games (Wigan v Swansea and Brentford v Birmingham) attracted crowds of less than 10,000. Wigan total was 8,964 (428) and Brentford total was 9,715
5464 the crowd was at tranmere

Are those crowds really that bad? Only ones that jump out at me as surprisingly low for a Tuesday night are at Walsall and Oxford. Over 5,000 was a great effort at ML considering the away following, same for Tranmere.

Cambridge at sub 3k home fans, Northampton sub 4K home fans, Colchester 2.3k home fans and Crewe at 2.6k home fans are all very low for the respective clubs.

In general, i'd say home support is about 10% down on what I'd expect across the board.

The away followings don't surprise me given (apart from local matches, teams on good runs, new grounds etc) it's generally only diehards travelling to midweek aways.

I think ifollow is already making a difference, as it it gets colder and wetter, it will get worst. You can watch the game in your warm living room for half the price of a ticket.

It won’t massively effect away followings because as a rule only die yards travel midweek anyway, and I can imagine they still will do, but home crowds will be down.

Accrington is double what i'd expect! As i said on the Crewe thread, ifollow will affect midweek games and certainly as it gets colder.

I have two little kids and travel 60 odd plus miles each way for a home game so pick and get to around 12-15 home games a season so it makes sense for me to miss the midweek and international weekend games as I can then watch them on ifollow and go the ones not streamed thus seeing more games!

some corrections

Latics at the Mill 411 not 441 ( official stags site)
Morecambe 40 at Cheltenham not 36 (official Cheltenham site)
Lincoln City official tweet says 464

Radio Nottm (Charlie Slater) on commentary last night say 111 Crawley at the Lane.

Thought it was OK. I think the original poster is trolling though, particularly as that club doesn't have any trips north this season...

Granted we have less mileage but a few trips too Essex, getting around London is always a pain. I wasn't expecting him you to take massive crowds but thought seeing you have twice been in the playoffs and in promotion spots and always play decent foootballmto watch.

Officially 1,367 Tranmere at Morecambe, plus some more who migrated from the home end.

I just can’t understand why a cold wet October afternoon in Cleethorpes doesn’t float everybody’s boat. :dk:

All ticket for away fans with no pay on the day may have had something to do with that.

Maybe knocked a couple of dozen off the away end- last season I think was around 220.

Meanwhile total attendance was 500 up on same game last year

What do you expect we are shit. Most teams dont take many grimsby apart from lincoln notts county and mansfield. It was also all ticket and not made public on the vale site untill the wednesday 2 days before they go off sale so that stops a few from deciding go on the day of the match. I sometimes think people think vale are a bigger club than what they actually are. Id be surprised if we take more than 500 anywhere apart from macclesfield in the rest of this this season. The 500s will probably be at oldham notts county mansfield and bury. Places like lincoln cheltenham morecambe northampton 350 the rest less than 200.

Hearing that we’ve already sold most of our allocation of 600 for Cambridge away next weekend. Considering it’s pay on the day we may actually take 1000 to somewhere other than just Northampton this season.

Do you think you'll sell out at ours? Hoping the gate money from that game will help us buy a new midfield.

How many are you giving us?

Haven't played eachother for a few years and it should be everyone's first day off for Christmas holidays so I'd expect us to bring a minimum 1500.

We will take loads Macc Town, we used to get over 2000 but not sure if still offer that?

We will take our standard 1000ish to Notts County and Bury (possibly more to Bury if anything on that game being the last) and should take a decent number to Oldham.
