We’ve never had trouble with Notts. The only time I can ever recall is when they started fighting among themselves back in the days when they could actually sell a full allocation for a local derby.

Enzio? Why will Mansfield/Notts always be an early kick off, They were all 3 o’clocks before we got back into the football league.

Mansfield/Grimsby is a 1pm KO every season now home and away. Absolute bollocks. We take about 800 there and they usually bring around 1200 to us. Can’t recall any trouble before the games started to be moved. Lincoln and Notts also and for some reason we had Coventry at home moved last season aswell.

Past trouble outside the stadium and increased police number required to deal with 4000 away fans ! If you move the kick off earlier by 2 hours naturally that’s two hours less prime drinking time . If you walk along London Road pre game you will see plenty of giddy youngsters with a few beers inside them acting like complete dicks to passers by and local traffic

Yes folks can drink post match but the demand and desire to do so is never anywhere near as much as pre kick off

Notts vs Lincoln have always got on well and don’t have have trouble so the police will use that as a barometer . Still large police in attendance but no need to move the kick off earlier

With a historically modest attendance I’m surprised the game at Field Mill is a 1pm kick off and with such a large police presence. We have a history and reputation of being a well behaved bunch on our travels

Except when you fight with your own fans and trample some old bloke in the away end. Enzio again we were bringing 3000+ and 4k on one occasion in 05, 06, 07 and 08 and it used to be pay on the day back then.

I get the dickheads but in a crowd of about 10,000 there’s usually a few hundred acting like clowns on the way to the ground. Never seen it kick off on the way in our out Meadow Lane.

I’ve been going 17 years now and can count on one hand the number of times I’ve actually seen it kick off around the ground myself and they were all home games against Doncaster, Lincoln and Hull in about 2004

You aren’t telling me that Notts have a bad reputation as football fans ? You’ve got to be kidding haha

But seriously why does it matter ? The club still get the same huge level of away support . They still get the same large chunk of income that they would at 3pm .

The police will have more knowledge than any one fan who has been for the last 17 or odd seasons

Footballs changed pay on the day was commonplace but not anymore . Maybe it’s because of Mansfield’s big increase in home support in recent seasons ;) Maybe Notts police got scared by it haha

Phenomenal effort in the circumstances to take 259 down there! Ground we enjoy (4 wins in 5) but after one of the harder weeks for the club it’s a cracking effort.

I'd say over 50% where Southern based fans (me included).

The only crowd trouble has been from notts as they’ve no rival! I actually think if there was any potential for trouble the Mansfield lot would just laugh.

Forest obviously wouldn’t even contemplate them as rivals, Lincoln have Grimsby then maybe Mansfield, Mansfield have chesterfield then Lincoln, then you’ve just the “worlds oldest club” which no-one actually cares about.

Never been anything from Mansfield against notts, just a big piss up while generally feeling sorry for our bewildered friends. Big occasion this season, it could be somewhile before notts see a decent away following

No-one actually cares? :fl: don’t make me pick apart your post and make you look daft again.

If you want to hear about all things Notts just ask Adam :dk: or visit Notts County Mad. Either or.

It’s also been a long time since Mansfield have seen a decent home following. Not that home support is anywhere near as important as away support obviously

I mean masnfield may take more county than they get at home, so they must care a bit.

Chance to go to the oh so dangerous local big city. The men will go to Hooters and Weatherspoons pre game before their usual 1 or more likely 3 points whilst the wives go to some new shops they’ve never seen before#culturetrip#bigdayout

Wrong. But it’s not far off.

The theme of this season has been dedicated to their fat chairman who has turned them into a laughing stock.

It reminds me how lucky we are to have radford

Yeah because stab city like Nottingham is such a catch, nothing us Mansfield lot like more is a increased chance of violent crime all the while strolling through the Victoria centre hearing people being called ‘g men’

Remember earlier this season when you legitimately tried to compare Alan Hardy to Keith Hallam and Darren Brown? :ffs:#fountain

Most clubs who gets relegated or is going to get relegated is pretty much a laughing stock. At some point every L2 club becomes a laughing stock. Now is our time, clearly.

I do however agree that John Radford is clearly the best thing about MTFC, although it’s hardly a tough competition what else is it going to be?

P.S. I think calling our Chairman fat is a bit harsh, surely he’s still slimmer than Mr Radford?

Ooooo the Vic Centre, so dangerous lol.

It’s call diversification G, most cities have it. Has it not reached North Notts yet? Have you been stabbed in Nottingham city centre? Been closed to being stabbed? Lol.

Don’t worry you’ll be safe and surrounded by dozens of spotty young Stags fans who will be full of bravado and ale signing and chanting one of three songs with many a swear were shouted to scare the local shoppers.

Of course it’s a catch that’s why it doesn’t struggle for tourism and visitors

haven’t been stabbed my self but have witnessed a life threatening stabbing in Nottingham actually.

The only diversity in big numbers in Mansfield is Eastern European’s.

My point is large swaths of Nottingham are worse than anything you’ll find in Mansfield, stop being so patronising, we are all humans living in the same County. Back to football yeah?

If you care to look it up I’m not the one who brought it up. It’s a ridiculous comparison so not sure why folks from the now disused pit town argue this every season it’s laughable.

Same county yes, but there is a huge difference between Mansfield and Nottingham which you already know. There are large swaths of New York that are far worse than anything you find in Mansfield lol, you can’t use that as a statement and a barometer to a town/city

It’s the lack of good bits, the lack of amenities, facilities, entertainment, character and above all things to do which is Mansfield’s biggest longstanding issue. It doesn’t draw people in, hasn’t had anywhere near the required investment and no longer has an industry or multiple major companies. Although I’m not too sure about the shopping, any good?

But yes, back to Football . Fingers crossed stab or shooting doesn’t get mentioned again.

Come and have a pint with me before the County game if you want? I can then make a adequate judgement if you really are better than the Mansfield fans I know due to where you come from. Be interesting!

Remember to tell me in advance who I’m speaking too though, Viking/Enzo. It could be our last ever chance for our teams to meet!

Ok that first sentence is just plain weird and if you find that interesting I probably don’t need or want a pint with you. Would I be referring to you as Conker if I did? :eyes:

Last chance ever? :fl: And Spanishstag calls Notts fans deluded. That Sir, is a keeper :ohy:

451 Tranmere at Field Mill. Disappointing, but people are probably saving their money now we are unlikely to make the play offs. We will have more at Vale Park next week.

I realise Burslem is not the most salubrious of surrounding but how do Colchester having lost their previous game , take 50 more to Crewe which is further than what they brought vale 2 weeks previously ?

Crewe is hardly more glamorous either. Strange one Colchester although issue with Vale Park is that it’s not easy by train as Stoke is a few miles away and doubt many away fans even know Longport exists!
