Would expect a low turn out from last seasons #2 largest supported away team™️ last season, it’s one of those away games where the fan base is utterly fed up of attending.

Or maybe I’m speaking for myself, because you not catch me at Rodney Parade anytime soon!

No, no I’m sure you’re right. Without your big day out at Notts County and a final day decider at the emptiest ground in the country you’ll be back to about 17th in the away support table like normal.

We had some great turnouts last season to be fair, and generally have a good away to home ratio following. What’s Orients like? Where will they likely finish in the table?

Anyway, expect a low turnout at Newport is the main point.

830ish officially last year, but that’s with the classic non-league figures where Braintree (ave attendance: c.600) and Boreham Wood (ave. attendance: c.500) had “over half” of the 3,000+ crowds at their places. True average would have been in four figures.

Imagine we’ll float around the 500 mark this year, but that’s because almost everything is fucking miles away. Delightful run of Macclesfield, Plymouth on a Tuesday, you on a Tuesday, Salford and Exeter to start our away trips this year.

Even if both of those games had robbed you of 1000 fans it still wouldn’t average at 4 figures, to average 4 figures means over the course of the season you’d have been robbed by around 3900 in total.
Still a great average though.

Can't wait for Orient away. It'll take me about 2 hours but I'm gonna walk there just because I can.

You’ve been down there. Every no-mark club does it. Bromley, Sutton, Maidenhead, Dover, unsegregated at Harrogate... I would be shocked if we hadn’t have been robbed of more than 3,900 throughout the season. I did enjoy being MASSIVE for a couple of seasons.

I liked being on telly about six times a season and then another two or three times in the playoffs.

What playoffs?

Have to say our TV highlight was the first game of last season where our 89th minute equaliser at Salford ruined the pundits’ Gary Neville wankfest. You could see them tripping over themselves at full time when when we changed their script.

Haha well we had back to back to back to back playoff campaigns before eventually getting it right.

Oh nice, wish I'd have seen that. As if G-Nev was a pundit for a Non-League match.

I'd say our TV highlight was when the team bus broke down on the way to Alfreton and the kickoff got delayed by like an hour and a quarter or something and they had to fill the time. We're talking footage of water being handed out to a packed away end, John Fenty on the pitch being interviewed by Clem and live updates on where the bus was. Hilariously tinpot.

Amazing scenes. That is the sort of shit I’m going to miss this year. It was a bit like going on holiday to Wales when you’re used to going to Barbados but you’ve gone bankrupt. You think it’s going to be dreadful, you’ve never heard of anywhere you’re going and the people you meet are plain weird, but it turns out that the beaches are just as good and you didn’t mind a change of scenery after all.

You missed Nuneaton then. It's a big rough council estate full of angry tennants, even people from Coventry think they are weird. No pushchairs or prams for the kids, they use wheel barrows.

Surprised that it’s taken us so long to sell out, to be honest.

The club aren't the most pro active at selling away tickets tbh, things like a countdown and harder push with marketing would help a lot imo.

I reckon a fair few were waiting until after the Cambridge game to see how we get on, a win would certainly give more the bug. But now it's announced we have less than 150 left I think they'll go quick as people will think they can't wait until after Saturday now.

I can't go due to a party I can't get out of!:hb:

It's bugged me for years that we don't give number sold/countdown updates on away tickets.

Really easy way to market and generate excitement/buzz around the club. I would've thought it would be obvious that fans (for whatever reason) want to see these numbers.

Agreed.

Not to mention the selective few who probably thought that we had already sold out.

I spoke to Dec at the ticket office last Tuesday, and he expected the remaining tickets to sell out within 24 hours - how wrong was he....!

Our ticket office staff are wonderful but they have to work with antiquated equipment, old 'steam driven' computer system etc, etc. We also rarely get sales updates for home or away fixture ticket sales.

We have sold 1,111 for Northampton and still have 314 available after we got given extra tickets. Looking like we could sell out which we should.

Good effort, is Northampton going to be your closest game this season, or is Crewe closer?
Port Vale will be closest I'd think.

850 for Morecambe had been sold a few days ago. What with today being payday for a fair few, I reckon we'll be over 1000 now.

Gutted I’m not gonna be able to go now, didn’t fully appreciate how restrictive it is having a catheter strapped to my bastard leg, just wish I hadn’t mentioned to my lad that we might have been going as he’s absolutely gutted now. :(

Oh shit, what happened? I thought you had a ticket already for some reason.
