Playoff semis in 21/22, the Kop was completely covered up and out of use then and I could be wrong but I think it was for most of that season? If there's an allocation restriction due to works, I'd imagine it's temporary works on one of the stands currently being used.

Pretty much the same situation as then, The only difference is that the Kop was still there (but covered up) and now it isn't.

Blimey. Got a better memory than me. Think I was living in Ireland then. Probably Guinness fog.

There you go, 6 straight wins before coming to Wrexham, then subsequently lost 2-1. 1 of the first photos I had with my then girlfriend was on the kop after this Swindon game. 17 years later, 1 relegation, 1 marriage, 1 child, 1 global pandemic, 1 promotion later we've finally made it back to the league :D

I have absolutely no idea on why I know that random fact about a club I don't follow. The last 15 years have been a hard take!

Tbh, I’m probably jumping on the ‘I hate Wrexham’ bandwagon which, for most, is just jealousy. Those 15 years for a club which isn’t that different from the one I support must have been hard - very hard.

Enjoy your season!

I don't think most people hate Wrexham, they're a decent sized lower league team. I certainly don't.

But the whole fairytale stuff and the "Oooh, Rob and Ryan friends" schtick has already worn painfully thin. Theyre loaded, they should smash it but the whole story round it is boring. Still jealous, mind

If a club can’t offer accommodation for 2000 away fans they should remain/cast back down to non league.

Its the very definition of tinpot!
Nah, we’ve reduced our allocation for away clubs down to 1,475 so home fans get more. Don’t want any more smelly away fans in do we?!?

They’re loaded and bringing in more money than Wrexham have ever had but they’re still charging fans a fortune for kits and are even giving some members at £30 a year chance of getting away tickets ahead of some season ticket holders paying £400. They’ll be favourites to romp the league this year but not every decision they’re making is making everyone happy.

Sounds like our old away priority system where it was limited to 1000 fans (buying a priority pass for £20!). We've moved to a points based system nowadays.

I do wonder when they come to a sticky patch which isn't outside the realms of possibility this year how long the love in will last.

The way the club has gone, the simple and painless solution would be to do a points based system. That priority pass sounds awful, and surprised we didn't do that!

For the most part it wasn't needed, but we had some big games during that period - it coincided with Parky and our cup runs which caused some kerfuffle.

Plenty you can make fun of us about but that's a genuinely good initiative.

Although those bloody freeloaders have got tickets and I can't get them rant rant

I think 1500 is perfectly acceptable for away fan captivity in this league.

Mansfield’s is around 1800 but i do appreciate we lose money on not having a larger away following.

However, if you’re stuck with a team that had an away capacity of 600 that’s not the fault of the “offending” club that’s the fault of you being shit enough being in the same league as those clubs.

Bad luck, that’s your fault, deal with it.

No booze on sale means you're a set of scumbags.

Our away allocation is about 900 but our home ends are full so that's less tinpot than the sides giving out thousands and thousands that have empty seats.

Wish we just gave a block int MR stand - 650 - that’ll be enough for most clubs in this division.

We've been given 1165 for Wrexham on the opening day.

No alcohol sales inside the away end either... is that a regular thing or just because of promotion/the allocation?
I haven't been on that side for what seems like eternity (i'm on the other side of the ground) so can't really comment on where the kiosks would even be!

Plenty of pubs to go to round town if you're ever stuck before or after the game (town/city centre is only 10 min walk at best.

Yeah I’m not too bothered about the alcohol sale thing, it’s annoying but I can live with it. I was just curious to see if that was a regular thing since the away end has been there, or the takeover etc, or if it was just because you’re EFL now.

It could just be a first game thing too.

Either way, we’re expecting to sell a lot of them because we’ve staggered the away sales when that’s normally only done for games like AFC and Northampton.

Whats the most you'll give? I'd imagine for us it would be a near sellout.

Two blocks in MR Stand - 1,250
Bradford End (Dallas) - 1,500

If you shift those sharpish, then we’ll consider giving you another half-block in MR.

Total capacity: 2,750-3,100

Only Grimsby have sold out since we’ve been down here. However, last season they fetched 2,200.

They definitely sell beer on that side of the ground from a kiosk because I had a couple last season from it.

Having a drink inside the ground these days is pointless really, queues a mile long to buy warm piss-like overpriced beer which you have to neck straight away.

Sensible thing is to have a few before and after the match in town.

We were also on a Wrexham beer ban last season.

For a dead rubber in April a week before we took 2500 to Donny, said at the tine the club requested more tickets for the wrong match there. We'll get closer to selling out at Bradford in September for sure. Hopefully we'll shift the lot though.
