Great pics. Commiserations Bradford fans, never nice losing a playoff tie. I'd imagine you'll be there or thereabouts again next season.

Alright Cod m8, no need to take the pis...oh were you being serious?

Same - our away followings this campaign have all stood for the most part - including today.

But anyway ….1,900 City at BP.

That picture in the Warwick is right next to where I was yesterday - how the hell did you cope? There were a couple of fellas stood there who had me suspicious at times, but fair play for keeping it under wraps!

Looking at that picture I don't think there was any capacity to give Bradford fans more tickets, the Carlisle ends look packed. Don't know why the Bradford fans were in uproar.

Home seating was sold out, as was the paddock (large terrace down the left). Think we could have squeezed an extra couple of hundred into the Warwick Road End, and probably 3-400 more into the Waterworks end. Certainly no segregated area where we could have put them, which was always going to be the case.

Just odd that carlisle get a third of that attendance normally, but clearly shows they’ve a massive potential if they ever find a way to harness it

Our crowds haven't had the same post-covid bounce that others seem to have, at least not until the second half of the season. There have been a good few of our once hardcore support keeping their distance for a while due to off-pitch issues at the club, but it seems like the city (and the north of the county in general) is back onside.

We also have a lot of exiled fans who only get to the odd home game, but most of those will have made the effort yesterday. Hopefully we can keep the momentum going, whatever happens next Sunday. Expecting a decent increase in season ticket take up this summer, hopefully have us back to a 7/8k average next year - even if we're still in league 2. Our average crowd since the Barrow game is around the 8.5k mark, it was only around 5.5k till that point.

Surprised GL is operating at 20% capacity. Must be safety certificate related.

Think we’ve shifted about 1,200.

Parkinson did play for Bury tbf. It's a nice story but won't really mean anything to our International fans.

Tbh I hate watching friendlies, utterly pointless. And after years of going to small local sides to watch utter dross I couldn't care less.
I remember having my hopes for the season completely dashed when we went in level against Lex at half time at some point in July.

Cannot stand pre season friendlies, though I'm not thrilled by us going over the pond so close to the start of the season.

Not saying I care enough to go, but there are people now who are wanting to watch Wrexham so much, a pre season game to go to in the country would have been decent.

Geraint Parry (club sec) said there were clubs in the Championship willing to play us in pre-season.

A championship club wanting to play a league two club in a pre-season friendly?

I’m shocked. Shocked.

Well, not that shocked.

Mate, when you play the likes of Lex or Colwyn bay, this is a massive step up! I feel like a giddy teenager seeing who we are facing.

Granted, in the league its like a new kid in school where you cant wait to see everyone again and fear them, but at the same time like turning round to seeing your old mates from another school and saying 'I remember you'.

Can't wait for the start. Got all the games I want to go to lined up and not going to!

Do local-ish Champ or Prem teams not want to play you in pre-season normally then?

Gills always play clubs like Millwall, Charlton, Palace etc pretty much every pre-season. And not just as we are in L2 and previously L1. Those clubs also play the local non-league teams like Dartford, Dover, Bromley and the like. Been that way for years.

In the past we've played Liverpool and Everton (who are our closest Prem teams) but they go abroad more often than not. We've also played teams like Coventry before now in the recentish past. Usually it would depend on who our manager was and what connections they had.

We were in the wilderness for years, I think most people forgot who we were tbh. And that was at a time when a home friendly against a big team would have really helped us.

I'd say most, if not all premier teams tend to spend pre-season abroad these days to promote their 'brand'. So the Championship is probably the place to get 'glamour' these days. We have Plymouth popping in before we kick off the league campaign.
