To be fair Notts had virtually as many there last night as they did when they had a chance to win automatic promotion at our place in 2010 on a Sunny April Saturday afternoon not on TV so decent progress I would say, as with our attendance and demand for the game at theirs earlier in the season. Much progress made down both ends of the Trent there.

That's my point, there has been progress, but it's at risk if the fans are abused by TV much more, especially combined with high ticket prices. An equivalent game this season will quite likely be on a Thursday night, if not that, certainly 12.30 on Saturday.

Different era.

Decent progress? I'm gonna suggest an upgrade to great progress. Averaging over 10,000 for home games last season and this is something everybody bar Bradford would dream of including Port Vale.

It's great to see lots of clubs attendances booming in the past few seasons very healthy for the lower leagues. I suggest few if any match the increase at the world's oldest professional club.

Sold out for our trips to Barrow (27th Feb, ridiculously on a Thursday) and Harrogate (8th March).

Interesting you say that as this came up on our forum… another East Midlands side tops it so far

Chesterfield another boomer for sure but more of a baby boomer with a much lower starting base that season. Very impressive mind just like Mansfailed.

Support has grown massively but that is probably a bit skewed by the fact we spent 6 years in NL and some of those years saw us see home crowds of under 4000 as we threatened the NL North.

That being said, home support growth is fantastic and if you compare it to when we were under Cook in League 1 in his first stint:

In the Play off Semi at Home to Preston - the attendance was 8400, with only 6900 home fans there. Fast forward that to this season, we had 9000 home fans against Notts County in a random home league game in League 2.

Fill in the corners!

That's what I'm talking about SuperHans, great example.

The growth in support for Chesterfield and Notts has been frankly unbelievable. Both clubs suffered devastating relegation to the NL but also benefited from it support wise. Is that the reason both clubs growth has significantly exceeded others? Combined with winning lots of games, good entertaining football, good stadiums,.new owners etc.

The perfect storm.

A lot of the bad attendance at that time was also down to the 'not another penny' people too. There was a big push wasn't there to try and get Dave Allen and that other knobhead out of the club and boycotting. Then after the Trusts takeover they all returned and got back engaged and believing. I think it was more complicated than "boo we're crap" crowds down "yay we're winning again" crowds up. Cooks return helped too

I agree it is more complex. The Trust played a major part.

Lincoln are another example, guess winning games and promotion brings fans in and then ride the crest of the wave. Key then is holding them when things get tough, for example a couple of struggling seasons.

Our big rise is similar in terms of new ownership and making it a family club plus promotion under Clark, luckily despite a disaster last season especially at home where we broke the wrong records we’ve managed to not lose too many of that captured support.

Possibly. Change of owners has helped both clubs too.

The Trust taking over the club created a real ‘this is our club and this is our town’ mentality with us - which definitely helped.

148 Cods at Prenton Park on Tuesday.
The total crowd of 4621 is the lowest in a competitive league game in a number of years. Indicates the levels of disillusionment with the current regime and think the figure inflated by absent season ticket holders, it looked closer to about 3k actually in their seats.

Sad to see, problem is once people do start voting with their feet it’s very hard to win them back once get out the habit of going. Hopefully things can turn for Tranmere off the field soon.

I've seen 2,897 Gy reported, didn't announce at the ground I don't think.
That's what they said on the comms as well. I think that's how many tickets we sold, but I guess if Donny is a tickets sold kind of club then we can officially lock that in.
