1440 at FGR is embarrassing. There's National League South clubs getting more than that last night.

They are ready to be flushed back to where they belong.
Expect ChrisFGR to drop you a DM sometime after that post. :box:

It is indeed as long as you play good football, win regularly and of course don't charge ludicrous prices to watch L2 footy.

Stone the crows but Stockport's away attendance is almost 3 times next best.
Stockport (2141) - Bradford (780)
Congrats to their travelling supporters.

I’ll be the one (again) to be the knob and buck the trend, but attendances don’t define the right or not of a club to be in a league, if so bradford would be in the PL and luton would be in league 2, the beauty of football is that what should happen sometimes doesn’t, if it always conformed football would be dull. (unless using that example you’re a bradford fan)

In fairness i’ve no particular love of harrogate, but they earned their right to be here and until the league table states otherwise they should remain - they’ve the same right to be in this league as anyone else, and it’s a crap stuffy pompous attitude to state otherwise (i might have been guilty previously after another loss to harrogate last season) so be it.

I dislike those who are entitled who think “lesser clubs” should be defined by it, no, it’s a nonsense.

Crack on harrogate, forest green et al

I dunno, nothing against the Harrogate fan on here, and by we way we are so incredibly lucky to have him considering finding them anywhere is near in impossible, I really want the Weaver FC project to vanish from the EFL.

It’s hardly far, though.

We’ve obviously nobbled Wrexham deliberately for the purposes of this league table. Nice one Notts.
Doncaster away moved to a Tuesday and a decent possibility MK Dons away gets moved to midweek too. The league doing its best to level things out!

I must say I have a lot more respect for Barrow and Sutton and how they came up than FGR, Sutton, Crawley, Fleetwood etc. I am also aware of the irony of that statement give how we've just got promoted off the back of having rich owners.

I have got over any sense of bedrudging teams their place in the league - why shouldnt Harrogate or FGR fans get to see their club in the league? I look at clubs like Woking and think they probably deserve a go.

Really?

Bradford are one of the 20 best supported teams in the Country?

And Luton are one of the worst 24 supported teams in the Country?

At a guess gates wise Bradford would be Championship and Luton would be hovering around League 1.

It’s a fair point.

All I know is, we’d averaging 23,500+ in the Champ. In the grande scheme of things, it isn’t a lot at that level.

Of the current Champ lot, that would place us on the top 10.

As for our numbers yesterday at MK, I actually thought they were very good. Nearly 800, away on Tues night, 320 mile round trip - decent.

Our away average at the minute is skewed slightly in the sense that our form isn’t what we thought it would be and our nearest awayday of our last 4 has been Tranmere on a Tues night.

You can thank SYP for that, apparently they can’t Police it due to other games in the area, they were prepared to bring forces in from other areas but the bill to the club would have taken next season’s budget

Bradford are a bit of an outlier in the fact that you are comedically, historically shit for how well supported you are, even taking into account cheap season tickets.

If I was a Bradford fan I’d be fucking furious that someone like Leicester, one club city, other sports popular, are relatively successful and we’re not, but I suppose thems the breaks.

Bradford's number are simply sensational everybody in L2 knows that, Firthy's reminders make sure nobody forgets.

Their home attendances are indeed comfortable Championship level. What amazes me is how the club manage to pull the same magic trick after each season of disappointment and dirge. Underperformed massively for the size of the club for ages now and the locals still flock.

They must wheel out Don King to do the promotion and marketing during the close season. Seriously whoever is the commercial/marketing manager needs a pay rise.

It's either that or some Men In Black magic trick.

I think what goes go a little bit unmentioned is that the seeds sown sixteen years ago when the cheap tickets launched are now properly bearing fruit.
Along the way it’s gradually picked up so many kids who are now adults (who now bring their kids…) or what were very occasional goers (would’ve previously said they supported Man U, only watched games on TV) like a lot of my mates, who 10+ years on have the bug, are hooked, go every week.
We get better crowds now then our recent successful years under Parky, for me it’s all down to the slow burn of picking up people along the way bit by bit that cheap tickets has allowed and now all of a sudden attendances far outweigh the football on show.

At what stage, though, do fans say ‘cheap tickets but no success again’ and stop going. We’ve had 3 years of our best attendances for 20 odd years and there are rumblings already that some fans are saying enough is enough watching basement football with a tight, uncompetitive budget and very few signs that the club are committed to going for promotion. The ridiculous prices isn’t really a factor in this - just the stagnation.

That’s the thing, we generally have a competitive budget. As for retaining support; I just think the vast majority (including me) believe we’re due a good season, so why not buy one - they’re cheap enough.

It’s that simple. I could buy 200 adult season tickets in cash with money in the bank but I choose to pay by DD. £18.50 per month - interest free. I don’t see it leaving the account and I can afford to pick and choose games.

I can remember regularly going away with GTFC when we were in the Championship and being in some very paltry away crowds back then, yet now we’re been in much crapper leagues for the last 20 years yet our away support has gone through the roof and I can’t remember at what point that all changed? And it’s not like because we’re in a worse league we have better results as barring last season we’re always in the bottom half of League 2 so it’s pretty baffling as to how our away numbers are so good right now.
One thing for certain is that we all took being in the Championship way too much for granted.
In the early 70s in the McMenemy era we had some huge away followings for the closer away games. That was repeated again in the late 70s early 80s. Then the recession hit, the fishing industry collapsed and also there were alot of hoolies around in those days. Home and away followings fell off a cliff. Home attendances can never get back to those levels because of the terrible all seater conversion. We'd probably get similar crowds to Carlisle if we were in League 1 if we still had the terraces. Carlisle are as good travellers as we are as well. Away followings started to really come back in the NL strangely enough. Cheaper tickets helps I guess.

200 Bradford season tickets are worth 1 Swindon Town matchday ticket.

To be fair to Luton their low attendances are simply down to having a cripplingly low capacity at present.
They'd probably be getting a regular 20,000 plus if they had the room.
And it's a similar story at Bournemouth.
