If you're in the Main Stand where I sit and getting the full brunt of the wind it's absolutely Baltic on a Tuesday Night.

However, I'd agree Oldham is worse. Go Blackpool or Morecambe in the middle of winter too and you'll freeze to death.
I've not done either of those (the grounds for me to do is shockingly bad in the north west), however my mrs went to Blackpool before the ground got redeveloped and had an open terrace. She said that wasn't a nice trip haha.

We play Morecambe early March away, so won't find out about that until I go. I did go to Morecambe for Most Haunted live in 2009, and that wasn't horrendous as some of the other ones i've been to.

Nowhere near some of the other ones. Oldham has been pretty chilly, Carlisle as that's in the artic circle, and Darlington.

Oh I'm sure there are worse, Crewe isn't a particularly cold place - but I remember going to a game, I think the Boxing day game 1995, and I've never been as cold at a football match and that includes that Baltic Wembley game v Grimsby.

Blackpool pre redevelopment was usually a cold, wet and miserable place. Hull too. They had a roof but it was full of holes.

Crewe's problem is wind chill. Crewe is relatively flat yet surrounded by hills in very close proximity to the West, South and East which has a bowl like effect if swirling winds are coming in from the North in winter. It may not look cold temperature wise compared to your Pennine towns but it really can feel it in winter.

That said, I live in Macclesfield now and this place has its own micro climate. I remember when Crewe and Macc were both in League Two in the early 2010s, it was a wintry Saturday. Crewe was sunny, albeit cold, and the game was on. Macclesfield, 20 miles away, game off for a waterlogged pitch as they'd been battered by rain up that way for a good 24 hours.

The Findus Stand at Blundell Park offers a superb range of exposure to the elements. Sit in the Upper and you can be whipped in the face with icy North Sea gales on the right day, whereas the Lower will push the limits of your Gortex to the extreme.

just 906 tickets for Stockport on new years, considering we sold out the 1400 odd last season quickly these will go in no time.

Yeah looks like they’ve been doing that all season.

Hopefully it batters down and those behind the goal get a good soaking

Gateshead on a Tuesday night. Minus four and with a wind chill factor of about minus twenty. Apparently the roof's been taken off since we last played them too...

Our place is vicious in winter without even being on the coast. Not quite Hartlepool brutal but nearly

Impressive turnout tonight showing the pizzacup the respect it deserves: 494 in total (147 from Oxford Utd)

Nice touch in their report:

"Rodrigues firing over the top of both goal and stand to hit a passing municipal vehicle on the road beyond - right on the gritter.*...

...* This really happened."

Highest attendance of the season at TNL incoming if Wrexham isn't chilled off on Sat.

Been there, done that sat in the Upper stand. I was guest of the club so went appropriately suit and overcoat and without required layers. Nearly froze to death as Notts got battered by Grimbo in a night match in something lile November or February.

No Gortex is sight sadly, just a beer blanket.

Yep the guest/sponsor seats in the stand are fairly high up too. At least you get to see the ships if the match is crap.

It was crap for anyone from Nottingham as you boys under our former manager scored 5 if memory serves me right.

At least I had the half time and post match warmth of Blundell Park's inner sanctum and alcohol to thaw out.

Assuming you're talking about Slade? 2005/06? Was 4-0 mate. I know that without checking because there was an incredibly cocky Notts fan on TFF called Matt--Notts County who was giving it the big 'un all season up until that point and that result shut him up. Jean Paul Kamudimba-Kalala scored a banger.

Edit: Just looked it up and if it was that game, it was the end of September! Which kind of proves how cold BP gets.

Proper cocky these Notts fans. Cant' see them being in the playoffs this year. Too lax at the back.

It's what we are famous for, look how proper cocky the Notts fans are on this very forum :ffs:

Late September? That explains why I was caught out with not enough layers. It was flipping freezing and understandably Mr Slade was rather smug in the boardroom afterwards.

My favourite trip to BP ever included lots of goals and a snow ball fight during the game in the away end as a youngster. Not that you are going to get that in these new all seater stadiums.

I was actually quite warm at MK Dons last Tuesday. Absolute disgrace.

Did Bradford not get 1300 odd this season?

If only we could do what Stockport did to increase our home capacity for certain games.

I don’t get why we are not making away allocations all tickets so we know if we can use the North stand for more games. If Mk bring let’s say 300 surely they can split the stand.

Sold out within 20 minutes and our most famous North West supporter misses out so looks like he will be in the home end.

Was announced at the game. I was watching a stream though so entirely possible that the comms didn't relay it back correctly and/or I misheard it but I don't think I did.
