Also, not sure whether it had any effect on Forde, but Rhead was winding him up something chronic while he was positioning his wall for the Eaedley free-kick. He was absolutely seething. :fl:

We’ve made up a large chunk of those points in December alone though, in fact probably all of them.

Still a long way to go but nice to be looking up and not over our shoulders.

We've made up 3 points in December, so we need at least another 2 months like this one just to catch up, which is still a big ask.

Maybe you don't give the stat much weight, but the Expected Goals for the Exeter v Grimsby game is hilarious:
2018-12-29-Exeter-Grimsby.png

Grimsby only got to 1.1 because 0.75 is the Expected Goals weight of a penalty. So take that out and their figure was around 0.3 from the rest of the game. Kinda tallies with the reports of how the game went.

IF you had a decent forward, which you evidently didn’t. Like what you mention, if we played someone decent we could possibly have lost that.

We had quite an off day and never really got going, 2 0-0s between Mansfield and Swindon this season, excitement central.

Good following mind, decent set in the railway again too

We were pretty crap today but luckily Swindon were no better, either should could have easily nicked it, any suggestions otherwise are due to bias.

You have to let them off because we have been fantastic recently.

So your poor performance was nothing to do with our high press making you go hoofing it

High pressing did work well, but we were still off it today trust me mate, if we weren’t I would have said so.

Both teams had chances to win it but both were incapable of doing so, draw was a fair result.

Not really, bury were much better than you on Boxing Day and we won quite easily.

Swindon did play well, your manager did his homework well and you were full value for your point, but I wouldn’t get ahead of yourself.

It's all about putting the ball in the onion bag, this expected goals stuff is nonsense.

Our expected dig your heels in and throw yourselves at the ball is at about 15.6 right now, though.

And those stats still equalled 3 points to us!
The phrase ‘backs to the wall defending’ doesn’t do it justice.

McKeown should win the B’allon Dor for that performance. 30 shots, 10 on target. Unbelievable performance from him.

However, fair play to Grimsby for holding out and to also do back in front so soon after we equalised. Disappointing to lose but 9 points from a possible 12 is encouraging and we have our belief back.

Need to get something at Swindon now, but that will be a tough one.

Nice to deny the Dons at the death. They clearly reckon it’s a derby game judging by their fans and their ‘we hate cobblers’ rubbish. Not sure about their pen as was too far away for me to see it, but MK really let us back in by sitting deep and inviting us on. Cornell made two huge saves to keep us in it so fair play to him.

Poor performance but got a point. Happy.

And not due to injury as you would expect. Brisley has had a huge drop in form from last season , every Notts fan can see that

He has but is still on a different planet to Jamie fucking Turley.

Maybe true but if he’s been playing somewhere been poorly and dodgy as **** and you are part of the reason the team is conceding 3 a match minimum you get dropped. You shouldn’t play.

As I’ve said I’m a big fan but even against Macc he was the poorer performing centre half with Turley playing

No pal. Really not.

Boxing Day we’d have beaten anyone in this division, we were bloody brilliant.

Today wasn’t one of those, you’re the 2nd team to stop us scoring at home this season, we’ve won our last 4 home games, you stopped us in our tracks with a great showing.

Had we played how we played on Boxing Day day yes, we’d have beaten you. If that’s patronising I can’t do much about it.

You're missing the point though, xG... or any type of stat is there to tell you about the teams, how they played, how the match unfolded, if it was just to tell you who won there'd be no point.

I thought I heard them sing a song too, do they not sit together at home games?

The problem is you have a team that are competing for mid-table and a side that are going for automatic promotion, let’s face it our standards for performances are in different worlds.

That’s patronising.

Your point about us coming for a draw is a bit rich from the league’s draw specialists. You’ve only won 2 more games than us and we’re bang average this season.

Anyway, it’s about this time of year that Flitcroft goes into prime bottling mode.

You sit in 14th and we sit in 3rd with two games in hand lol.

Bit of a imbalance here shag, you don’t want Mansfield to do well in any games (primarily due to Flitcroft) where as we have no reasons to care about how Swindon do other than when they play Mansfield.

It’s probably why you are struggling to see both sides of today’s game.

Good result. The del boys getting something from Rodders parade.

I was at work so watching updates so any honest summaries about our exciting 0-0 would be appreciated.

Are you still mad about the blatantly offside goal that got given offside or not?
30 shots on goal against 6. 10 on target against 3.
Like I said at half time, the goal was given and the reef pointing back to the centre. But Grimsby players made a fuss and it was overturned. That never happens to us, we are just too nice.
One of those freak results that happens once a season. Happy Christmas

Doesn’t bother me what Mansfield do as a club. Historically you are a pimple on football’s backside. Every dog has his day - this season may be yours. Certainly I’ll enjoy watching Flitcroft fuck it up - but that’s nothing to do with your club.

I’d imagine in 5 or 10 years time you’ll be where you are now.
