Van Veen sold back to Scunny. Top scorer with 7 in the league (3 pens).

Lost a bit of creativity but also got a fee and a big wage off the books.

Is Danny Mayor the new Rakish Bingham? Or am I doing Bingham a disservice?

Nobody could ever be the new Rakish Bingham, unless Bingham was to have a son who grew up into greatness with his super genes, and even then he would only be 50% Rakish. He's the kind of footballer who only comes along once in a generation.

Taken this from the NL forum, but Port Vale appear to be under consideration for this.

Can't see it happening, mind.

Seems Chesterfield are attracting the interest of one of Ownafc.com

Seems to be along the same lines as the Ebbsfleet model a few years ago

Doesnt seem dodgy at all though

Been alerted to this by a keen eyed Spireite. £99 to download the app. Chesterfield appear to be one of the club's they've looked at owning. No idea, yet, as to the legitimacy of the scheme. You can see it for yourself at https://ownafc.com/

Yeah like that is going to be a success. Thankfully looks like we are not likely to win through!

Coventry! Unlikely but oh dearie me if that were to happen.

Ebbsfleet were one thing, a small club with a small fan-base able to make great strides with the money raised, but I really don't see how letting a load of randomers off the internet run a 'proper' club could end in anything but anger and recrimination. It's surely not much different to owners like Bechetti who just run a club as a plaything and have no interest in making difficult decisions or looking long-term, and using the term 'put your theories into practice' just rings alarm bells, they'll just turn a club into a test environment for the crazier ideas on how to run it.

£99 is a lot, and would probably price a lot of committed fans out, but with how unhappy Chesterfield fans are at the moment it could be that they're hoping they can gain a Spireite majority of shareholders as their only change to get a takeover.

Billericay Town however... now that would be worth seeing. Doubt Tamplin would ever sell.

Things like picking the home kit colours and things would be terrible.

We are ok though they'd need to spend most of the cash raised just to buy us based on Smurf's valuation!

Ollie Banks back from injury.

Throughly expect us to put our next opposition to the sword now, unluckily for Tottenham :fl:

Colchester v Notts tomorrow.

We don’t look much like getting an away win at the moment (only previous one was at Macc away), nor a draw really. Best hope is probably for a 1-0 defeat and hope Cambridge don’t get anything before we meet them next week!

Big game against Morecambe for the Alex. The team seem to be playing relatively well, even when they are losing. Sounded like good efforts against FGR and Bury. But there are a total of zero excuses for not getting something at Morecambe. They'll be out avenge the 6-0 defeat we handed to them on the opening day, but the fact is, their home record is dreadful, they don't score many and concede loads.

If we can't penetrate that back line at least once, they the whole strike force want shooting. And if we can't keep out Vadaine Oliver, Ajay Leitch-Smith and Jason Oswell at the other end, then the defence want shooting. I'd take a point if only to stop the losing run on the road, but we really need to be getting 3. Cue a 1-0 defeat.

Swindon at the Moss for us tomorrow. We should have beat them on the opening day, so tomorrow will go one of two ways. We'll either 1) keep up the good form and gain revenge and pick up a valuable 3 points which sees us out of the drop zone or 2) Swindon won't want to be humbled again and do a professional job on us and we're back in the deep shit again.

I'm staying positive and going for the first, but backing Swindon just to cover my back.

Fully expect you to win. Records, of course, are their to be broken but we’ve never won at Moss Rose.

2-1 to Sol’s boys.

Absolutely no chance of an away win today. Last season we would go down to County Essex and win, and I’d be confident. But in terrible form, with key injuries on the back of yet another nothing away performance we will go to that nice modern looking soulless stadium and lose with a whimper. It’s tummy tickling time again, until we get in 2/3 leaders/battlers/mentally strong footballers.

Considering going big on a home win bet

Barclay straight into the 3 man defence and more good news is Alessandra is on the bench.

We can only manage 5 on the bench (GK, 2 CBs, RBish, bloody Vincenti). Whitaker looked ready to come on vs Tranmere but is now completely absent. Hodgkiss back into the starting lineup somewhat unexpected.

The one piece of good news is Cameron is back.

We’re trying a completely new, never been tried before by any team anywhere formation - 5-1-4 . The 1 midfielder better have an engine.

Cracking game at Colchester. Notts will be gutted if they don't win this. Le Tissier saying there was a dive for the Colchester equaliser. Humph.

Fairly comfortable 1-0 win against Yeovil today. Up to third in the table now.
