We've got you and MK this month need 4 points minimum from those two to stand a chance of getting automatics IMO.

Feel free to draw them both

Well I think Luton fans broke the forum following their reaction over Jones leaving them.

Crazy game at Swindon, point gained considering. Bury looking very impressive.

Been reluctant to say this purely because am incredibly wary as to who Smurthwaite would replace him with but it's getting to the point that Aspins position is untenable. We are in deep trouble. Can point to individual moments today where luck was against us but Colchester were incredibly comfortable regardless and always had another gear if necessary.

I would have snapped your hand off at a point before today's game but 3 is very very welcome. I actually think it wasn't undeserved as while Mansfield had more chances we kept them at bay for most of the game and tactically got it pretty spot on. Much much better.

Agree with that, How the fuck did your keeper save Rose’s chances second half?

We must improve on the last 2 if we want to be top 3 that’s for sure

A game of two halves for us today - at half-time we were cruising and more than deserved our lead.

Second half though, Tranmere came straight at us and equalised almost instantaneously. From there we huffed and puffed, and they punished any mistake we made, with both their goals next goals coming from us giving away possession almost nonchalantly.

One of those days, but we really need someone to shore up our midfield now Big Nige is out for the rest of the season.

An absolute horrific game against Colchester where our defence so solid at Lincoln was all at sea the first 20 minutes allowing them to get a 2 goal league and that was game over. Wasn’t a 3-0 game in fairness and two of their goals had incredible luck with deflections but again we play a negative formation at home and don’t change it until late. Had plenty of chances at 2-0 but didn’t take them before miss of the season from Dodds at the end.

Pope limped off as did Clarke... look completely at sea at the moment and the fans patience is wearing thinner by the week. 3600 on a Saturday sums up how bad it’s become.

After today I don’t see how Aspin can stay but he’s hiding behind the luck card due to the deflections on their goals by the looks of it.

No shock we won at home, but very much a shock that we did by coming from behind and with two goals in the last two minutes.

1st half we were decent and deserving to be in the lead. But then a very familiar 2nd half, just never got going and gifted Newport a couple of goals, it took us til the last 5 minutes to start playing again. I thought Newport were a pretty ugly side, and probably just about got what they deserved.

In the first half we were pretty average and Cheltenham were better in possession. However, they did not create much other than their goal and we looked dangerous on the break.

In the second half we pushed ten yards higher up the pitch, pressed them, and tore them to shreds. They could not cope with the power and movement of Norwood and Miller, and Banks and Perkins ran midfield. We really should have won by a bigger margin.

Our new signings have given us something extra and we look well placed to mount a play off challenge now.

We bossed it first half. Had no answer when Newport went full on GBH on us until Owen Dale came on and gave them the runaround. Loved our winner, a proper epic lower league goal line scramble. Also think today shows Artell should persist more with Ainley, in my opinion one of our best attacking players and best prospect we have. Not the most consistent but when he’s on it he is unplayable.

I can't wait to see Nathan's save as it looked incredible. For such a young keeper he's got all the attributes for a great career.

Crap from us today, a very lethargic first half against a Macclesfield side full of desire who took full advantage. Two really poor goals to concede. It was simply a case of shutting up shop from there for Macc. We came out second half and gave it a good go for half an hour or so, can't fault the effort but we've found an identity as a really good counter attacking side but have struggled to slowly break down defences all season, so we just had no way through.

Based on that performance, Macclesfield should be nowhere near the bottom two in a few months. I've seen much, much worse sides this season. They came and attacked us positively and then did exactly what they needed to do to keep hold of their lead. Excellent game management by them, although unsure why their scorers felt the need to goad the home support when they'd received no flack at all at that point. Wonder if that was Sol's idea after he failed to get the job here.

Back to reality for us, cup run is over and we can quickly put to bed the idea of us making the playoffs this season. Today was a harsh reminder that we are very much a mid table side and still at the start of a transition. I still think we can aim for a very solid top half finish once we have a full strength side again. Thought the two Swedish lads were decent; 90 minutes for LB Ring who had a slow start before showing glimpses of decent attacking play, but is very clearly far from match fit. CB Ohman got a chunk of time towards the end and very quickly asserted dominance in the air. Excited to see how they do once they fully settle.

We should have some defenders back for next week so it should hopefully be a really good game against Lincoln.

Mental game at The County Ground.

Felt we were slightly on top 11 v 11. Andrade gets sent off for a ridiculous lack off discipline (Danny Cowley proceeds to chase him down the tunnel after an exchange of words) and we inexplicably go to pot before half time.

Second half was all us with the ball not knowing how to try and break down a defence. Still we got there in the end v 9 men.

Lack of cutting edge will cost us dear. Under 3 weeks to address the issue.

So many implosions yesterday. Lincoln 2-0, 2 men sent off, draw 2-2. Newport 2-1 up in the 88th minute, lose 3-2. MK Dons 3-1 up at Bury, lose 4-3.

Amazing win for the Alex. Judging by the reports, we were 1-0 up and cruising going into half time, should have been more ahead, sounds familiar. Then we sit back and the opposition step it up in the 2nd half, sounds familiar. Give away poor goals and fall behind, sounds familiar.

But instead of folding, we get a penalty and score off a late scramble. Funny what one late result last week at Morecambe can do for the belief. Happened last season where we beat Lincoln and drew with Stevenage thanks to come from behind goals.

The Alex are such a strange team, walking a super fine line between reasonably average and rubbish. Bit embarrassing from Artell to get caught up talking about a negative fan after the game. Yes, we have some epic moaners in our fan base, old guys who would whinge if we were top of the league. But the guy calling us rubbish wasn't miles away from the truth. Had we lost yesterday, we would have been 17th. We still will probably finish in the bottom 8/10 of the league. Find me any fan/player/manager that wouldn't call that rubbish.

Still, big big win, especially with a lot of tricky games coming up in the next few weeks. MK Dons away next Saturday, ruh oh!

We'd already had a player sent off before we went 2-0 up.
Shackell was sent off for dissent straight after Swindon scored their penalty.
Very weird from us.

Dirty Lincoln living up to their reputation I see...

Good to finally see a ref brave enough to start punishing them. If more refs take note then can see them ending most games with 8 or 9 men for the rest of this season.

Very weird from us.

I wasn’t there so only going from what I’ve read but from kick off your players were whinging and moaning, surrounding the ref around most decisions etc. One person even said you seemed to be time wasting early on as well. On the face of it, seems desperate tactics bearing in mind how good you are and how bad our home record is.

Andrade got sent off for a petulant kick and Shackell, who was already on a yellow decided to gob off to the referee, which is frankly idiotic behaviour. The Andrade red card seemed to kick you guys into action and at 2-0 up looked game over. I think Lincoln seemed to take the ‘dark arts’ a bit far and the referee was strong enough to see through the antics.

Doughty seemed to make the difference coming on and we finally got the equaliser despite not playing 11 v 9 very well at all.

I would have definitely taken a point before hand but given what happened during the game, a point seems a bit, well meh!

Tranmere away next weekend is a bit of a 6 pointer for us, I don’t think we’re good enough for a play off push but whilst it’s mathematically possible I’ll still believe.

Probably just a case of not scoring in front of the away fans so end up not knowing what to do other than give a little bit out. Didn't exactly look like they were trying to cause a riot, just some tame ear cupping.

Agree with that, How the fuck did your keeper save Rose’s chances second half?

We must improve on the last 2 if we want to be top 3 that’s for sure

It was an absolute car crash of a performance. Yeovil were there for the taking, and we put in that, whatever it was.

Folk after the game thought we weee worthy of a point, how wrong were they? We were worthy of jack shit. If that’s a “bounce back” performance after Carlisle then wow.

A win on Tuesday puts us back in the top 3, but if we actually get there it’ll be short lived on that performance.

Khan did nothing, rose again was hopeless apart from that save, Atkinson did alright in the role of “macca” but isn’t him - and got unfair stick when coming off

A side note on the ref - what an absolutely terrible performance all round. Not giving Yeovil’s “penalty” early into the game was mad - you could see it from space - seemingly the only lad in the ground that didn’t. Then the little black lad (best player on the pitch yesterday) scythes down our lads 3 times and gets nothing, we touch him and it’s a yellow. Same goes with the shot from Danny rose which nearly went for a throw but he gives a corner when no Yeovil player was anywhere close, then gives a foul for nothing when taking it as realises he’s made a mistake! - he wasn’t at fault at all for the loss but he made a bad afternoon even more frustrating

I’m struggling to justify a result other than the Yeovil win to be honest.

I mean Yeovil are wank, the run they had before hand and the table back that up, but we were equally if not worse yesterday.

Embarrassed by that performance, I mean they have players that other than Yeovil the only other option is to probably go to non-league and at times they made players like Sweeney and Preston look like amateurs.

Bishop is back for Tuesday, hopefully we have a new signing or two by then.

First scorer was fine but the second guy along with the number 10 went out of their way to get a reaction. Will never understand it. It doesn't personally wind me up as much as it does others but when they do it for no reason, it's just weird. I'm all for footballers giving it back but don't go about starting it in the first place.

Maybe they did get some abuse I wasn't aware of so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Good performance from you lot yesterday and I'll be surprised if you don't go on to stay up.
