So eight teams have a better than 50% chance of the playoffs? How does that work then
They dont though.
8 teams have a better than 50% chance of ending the season in either the automatic or playoff spots. I think you read the graph wrong.... :tw:

Grant is perfect for our style of play though, he will get the ball all the time in the oppositions half and you know he’s going to get loads of goals and more importantly assists.

Bit early I know, but our match at Tranmere on Saturday is a bit of a 6 pointer for us if we are wanting to be serious challengers for the play-offs.

Tranmere are a good side and at the CG absolutely outplayed us in the first 20 minutes before they got a man sent off stupidly. We have improved under Wellens, still a lot of work to do and I think we are more building for next season rather than this.

We have brought in Peter Shirtliffe as a coach as well as Paul Jewel as a Director of Football and have also sacked a couple of other staff members, so it seems like we are beginning to attempt to get our shit together.

Regardless of our respective form etc, Swindon are our bogey side and are destined to win regardless...

Must admit got a bit of a soft spot for Tranmere, going back to the playoffs in the 90s,second leg at Prenton Park, with us leading 3-1 from the first leg. This match was a classic, the ground was packed, atmosphere ...electric...100% action, never known a game go so fast, ...except for the last 5 minutes!
We lose the game 3-2, but win 5-4 overall......so sending us to Wembley, for what has to be one of the greatest playoff finals ever staged at the old stadium,... but the thing that stood out for the night on the Wirrel, was the Tranmere fans, they came onto the pitch, and started to applaud the Swindon fans, ending up swooping shirts and scarfs with each other, great sportsmanship from them!
Hopefully our jinx keeps on going , but I have a feeling that we might be well beaten!

Definitely. The best result we've had against them in about the last ten meetings was a 0-0 at their gaff, and i'm pretty sure they finished rock bottom of the league that season. It always seems like our players do idiotic things against them as well, obviously harris earlier this season and i'll never forget paul black's backpass to an invisible goalkeeper.
For the older fans of both clubs, i'm sure the run ins of the early 90s are etched into the memory too. Being 2-0 (or 2-1?) up at their place, only for the floodlights to go off and then of course losing the replayed game, aldo's perfectly good goal disallowed in the playoff semi there, steve vickers planting one in his own net after about 35 seconds...

Yeh, i'm really not that keen on swindon.

Fans seem quite nice though, from my experience anyway.

I was at Prenton Park on a chilly November 4th afternoon in 2004. Paul Hall scored twice (great player) David Duke had equalised at 1-1. Long way home.

Pre match was good though. Played pool in some sort of social club near to the ground and watched the midday kick off whatever it was.

Great shout, i'd forgotten about that one, both long rangers i seem to recall? Come to think of it, we did have a spell of good results against you, particularly at home, from around that time to 09-ish, but since then it's been a nightmare for us every time we've locked horns.

Time to end the hoodoo but i'm not convinced we will. Only team i fear playing more is peterborough (now they really are evil).

That's weird because I thought both his goals were long rangers as well, turns out his second was a well placed finish inside the area!

I think they don't particularly like us to electricity issues, but for me the behaviour of the Tranmere fans that night should be recalled and applauded, superb sportsmanship.

Ha, what a brilliant find. Not sure about that old super close up camera though, ridiculous. Makes the first goal look like a tap in lol.

Also couldn't help but notice the equally ridiculous blind pass to your guy to put him clean through on goal, just after you'd equalised. Exactly what i was talking about earlier!

Nice nostalgia blast though, that's probably the best team we've had since being relegated from what's now the championship.

We've just lost 2 away but our home form is OK. We don't draw many, including against Vale - one in 9 games.
I see Aspin says the players are playing for his future. So Vale vans, would you rather win or lose?

He said that a couple of weeks ago in fairness and they were superb at Lincoln... we wont pay him off anyway. Win is imperative.

Intriguing game tomorrow... we have won all but one visit to Crawley (and that was when we were reduced to ten men) and our away form is actually decent with just 2 defeats since August. Pope is out for a few weeks which could actually help us as we will have to play it on the deck rather than aimless hoofs down the field, Miller and Whitfield I assume will start up front which could work.

No idea on the result hopefully it will be a kind away day again but will be tricky as Crawley despite losing on the day were one of the best to come to VP just couldn't hit a barn door like us!

Not expecting much from this after last week's hopeless show, so even a point would be a bonus. Our strategy is to hope that there are 2 teams worse than us which is risky in the extreme. Given the lack of new signings, I am expecting Miller to start but after that it could be any combination of defenders.

Colchester for Mansfield tomorrow, at that crap souless 'community stadium' bring back Layer Road - It might have come across like a non-league ground but i'll take that.

Tough game, think I predicted Colchester for 3rd so I'm not suprised to see them around us, I'll take a point but the first goal will probably determine the result.

Away to MK Dons, urgh. I'd take a 2 goal defeat or less right now. Got a worrying feeling we could be in for a tonking.

While I reckon MK are easily the best side in this division, I also think that 6-0 win was a one off. So far, they do seem rather keen on winning their home games by a two goal margin; 2-0 does seem to crop up at lot when looking at their home results.

Any Colchester fans left on here I seem to remember one? They have two forums that are both dead, it's just one of those clubs that you never hear about or ever meet a fan.

Even more bizarre because they have a decent team and are doing pretty well this season.

It’s a strange one that they don’t really, yet clubs that are terrible have loads of fans.

You going down conks? Too many outgoings this month for me to make it down

Nah, been before and it's a poor away day plus it's not exactly close either.

I'm here - just don't post much.

The main forum (www.cu-fcchat.com) can get quite busy, but usually when we're not doing well, then it's a hive of activity.

I think nowadays there's more activity on Facebook groups than the forums to be honest.

Yawn.

Focus on your shit football club rather than keep embarrassing yourself.

Calm down pimple

Embarrassing myself ? You’ve come out with two absolute beauties recently and the best part is I don’t think you’ve even realised ? haha

I don’t know maybe size of the supporter base is linked to forum popularity a little more than how well a teams currently doing . Just saying like . Unbelievable Jeff
