Mark Ellis started who was clearly injured (didn’t train all week) and got caught out of position for the first goal as a result of slow mobility. Second goal was just a horror show, terrible throw from keeper then McCullough panicked in possession and gift wrapped it for you.
From half time to 75th minute we were the only side in it, but the energy that took told and you countered a few times in the last 15 minutes which really exposed McNulty, who’d id be surprised if he was here come June.
I’d be careful to read too much into that game from the either side, but Swindon took their chances and then weathered the storm second half so fair play.
Rovers had a very good spell at the start of the second half, Norwood’s goal and a couple of close efforts to level. However the last 15 minutes, Swindon had a shot cleared off the line and looked more likely to add a third than Rovers equalise. Think you’re heading in the right direction, but reality biting for Rovers and we need a few more additions to give a serious hope of the play-offs.
Cheers guys. There is still a chance we may meet again before the season is out, but if I was a betting man I'd say we'll both be in League 2 next season.
