Mark Ellis started who was clearly injured (didn’t train all week) and got caught out of position for the first goal as a result of slow mobility. Second goal was just a horror show, terrible throw from keeper then McCullough panicked in possession and gift wrapped it for you.

From half time to 75th minute we were the only side in it, but the energy that took told and you countered a few times in the last 15 minutes which really exposed McNulty, who’d id be surprised if he was here come June.

I’d be careful to read too much into that game from the either side, but Swindon took their chances and then weathered the storm second half so fair play.

Rovers had a very good spell at the start of the second half, Norwood’s goal and a couple of close efforts to level. However the last 15 minutes, Swindon had a shot cleared off the line and looked more likely to add a third than Rovers equalise. Think you’re heading in the right direction, but reality biting for Rovers and we need a few more additions to give a serious hope of the play-offs.

Cheers guys. There is still a chance we may meet again before the season is out, but if I was a betting man I'd say we'll both be in League 2 next season.

Realistically we need to get a centre back and a winger. The 3-5-2 just gets torn apart by teams that aren’t as poor as Cheltenham or Morecambe.

DF has had a go at the referee post match for ‘not controlling the game’ fair assessment to be honest and White has took the brunt of that with a broken ankle.

Haha, wow. Phone died whilst I was out this evening, so wasn't checking the score. Come back to internet and found out the Alex only went and won. Amazing, so made up for those fans who've been travelling away to every game and watching us lose every week. They deserve this win.

Sounded like a good performance as well. You knew it was there, proved that at home several times. Issue has been getting it out of them on the road. This could be a season changer, but at the very least, we should have enough that even a slump should see us still finish no lower than mid-table all being well.

Was honestly expecting the worst today, so happy.

My first away game in a few months at MK. Went hoping we’d keep a respectable defeat but put in a cracking performance. Rode our luck in defence at times in the first half but in the end thoroughly deserved our win. Our goal was, once again, total football. Perry Ng was immense at the back. And MK didn’t really offer anything in the second half, even when we sat back and let them come at us.

Something seems to have clicked with this team, Artell and Lunt. We’ve come on leaps and bounds over the last couple of months. Hopefully our more assured position can tempt a couple of quality loans and let us push on a bit further.

Decent performance and similar to the Yeovil win in that a seemingly shocking line up put in a perfect away performance.

We were rarely troubled after going ahead and in fairness could of added gloss at the end but for some poor decision making on the break.

Big goal for Miller and the club. The lad on loan from Forest who was at Lincoln was outstanding today to be fair.

Hopefully start of a return to form. If we could just play away every week!

I haven't seen us win since we beat bury at home so perhaps I should stop going. Anybody want my season ticket for the last few games.

I've bad news for Port Vale fans. Your team are really not good at all. You lack focus up top and a pattern of play was seriously lacking all game.

Having said that, just how shit we're we !? I don't think I've ever been as depressed leaving a game of football as I was today. I've been watching Crawley since the late seventies, I've seen horror shows of teams and in all honesty that performance ranks with the worst.

One little stat from the game that sums it up for me. Second half, chasing the game against a team in poor form and we managed just one shot(off target). That was from nearly thirty yards!

Absolutely awful.

To be fair it’s the first time we’ve played that
System and had most of our top players absent in Pope, Legge, Whitfield and Monty... literally all our goal scoring threat was missing and Miller had been out the squad for most of the past three months.

The kid who came on for Miller has never played higher than the Spanish six tier and the left back was making his EFL debut.

It was a very hard fought win but thought we played well just lacked the right decisions up top to kill the game off at the end.

This isn`t news to us Casey! In fact this is possibly the worst Vale side I have seen in the 50 years I have been watching them.
It won`t make you feel better if I tell you that we have done the double over you with that team- our first league double since 2015/16. So Congratulations!

Crewe are always capable of pulling one out the bag aren't they?

Impressive from Mansfield, whilst Carlisle continue to kick on.

Actually really nice and refreshing to see some of the MK fans posts on Twitter, no excuses and very complementary of us. Best footballing team in league two and best team they’ve played. Never thought I’d hear comments like that about an away performance from us this season. Especially vs a promotion chasing team.

Yeah Ajose and Grant were probably the best players on the pitch today too, although we haven’t played well for a full game since Bury and once again in the first half our three at the back system was sort of ‘found out’

Grant and Walker are best mates, they kept going on about how they have linked up well throughout both their careers and when you see our goals you’ll see it for yourself.

I cannot stress how much a blow losing Haydn White is though, we will not find a better replacement - the lad can chest the ball 12ft in the air and he could win the grand national.

I apologise to Vale fans. I shouldn't have slagged your team off. You did a job on us today and actually your team fought for the badge and gave it a go. Fully deserved the win.

I was/am so pissed off about our performance. To make it worse I think we had a homer for a ref. One free kick he gave to us when our centre back dived was more than embarrassing.

As Someone said, here's hoping there are two worse than us and God have pity on their fans.

I right back shouldn't be *that* much of a loss in a top three chasing promotion side, though?

We lost RB Eardley briefly last season as our top assist guy but we didn't have the quality of Walker and Grant up top.

He’s a RWB and cover CB. Honestly his offensive threat is vital and we have no replacement, he’s the one who ran the length of the pitch to cross it for Rose last season at Sincil Bank.

Yeah, he had a good game in that one.

You didn't really have much decent width last season (not against us anyway) so I'd just assumed that now with Hamilton for example, he wasn't the out ball he was.

To be honest if talking in general over the course of the season you would be completely correct about us though of the two games between us the one at VP would definitely be more worthy of that criticism where frankly we robbed you.

Important win today especially with most other teams below us winning. I would obviously rather he was in the team than not but without Pope it appears to have reduced the temptation for our players to punt it aimlessly all the time in the hope he wins a flick on and actually having to play some football instead.

We slag them off so its ok!

You were decent at our place and we mugged you but struggled today and we are decent away as Negative Aspin sets up home and away to be negative but it works away!

You’ve got enough quality to stay up. Was surprised Morais came off as he was your main threat.

Got to say every time I’ve seen Ollie Palmer he was been shocking! Yet seems to score goals!

White actually played CB our last two games because he’s effectively our cover for that position so we no longer have anybody to Chuck in our back three until Mirfin is ready too.

Basically we require a defender now, although short term we can do what we did today (CJ and Benning at wing back)

I also think losing Hamilton now would be more damaging to us as a team than it would have been a week ago. Hamilton's been as good as anyone at RWB but none of our other RWB candidates look suitable at the moment for pace and fitness reasons. Atkinson offers good versatility but not convinced by him as a starter, MacDonald could possibly be converted but he's been hobbling around for ages and Anderson hasn't played any first team football this season. Don't think we are likely to get much better than White in the transfer market without having planned for this. If Hamilton stays we should be okay, but can't guarantee that.

It looked like a game too far for you yesterday. The crowd was relatively quiet for the first 60 minutes due a major attack of nerves (thankfully the fans not the players). For the last 30 minutes, the presssure and optimism just built and built.... whilst you faded and crumbled. Injuries didn't help but you clearly need reinforcements - as do we.
