Another close to home game where I couldn't go because of shift work. I was upset until I saw the score!

Watching the highlights I noticed two things....well three.
1/ Wycombe's first goal was a goody.
2/ Akinde was outpaced our defenders for the fourth!
3/ We are bloody awful.

How many latish (80 mins plus) goals have Barnet conceded now? Seems like an awful lot. Really thought they'd be up there during preseason, and their very convincing 3-1 win (could easily have been 6-1) over us merely reinforced my opinion.

A ridiculous amount Vanni - we started so well but a few key injuries meant some tiredness crept into the team, bit of bad luck and naivety from young players had us conceding late goals, then some more injuries and it all just escalated from there.

A team with Akinde, Coulthirst, Jack Taylor, Tarpey and Santos shouldn't be where we are.

Mansfield v Stevenage was a classic. Our back 2 were outstanding, The ref was the worst I've seen this season. First back to back wins for us though, Recent performances suggest we may have turned a corner at last after a dissapointing start to the season. Port Vale away tomorrow night and then Chesterfield who both look to be up for a fight now and have had some decent results just lately.

Look forward to you scoring 0 on Saturday. Might mean we actually get a point.
There won't even be the usual horseplay and shenanigans in the away end like normal as no one gives a shit any more, Slade needs to get fucked and take that full of self importance twat Fenty with him and maybe we can get our club back.
Best not hold my breath though eh......

Away at Colchester for us tomorrow night.

Bostwick's done his hamstring so he won't be playing and JMD's back at Brighton having suffered a thigh injury so he'll not be back until mid-December I wouldn't have thought.

Rhead seems to play in our home games but not away, so I suspect Knott will come in now that Whitehouse will, presumably, replace Bostwick in CM. Then again, we could throw Palmer up there.

Margins seem to be that fine with us that you can never second guess which side of them we'll end up on!

The trouble is that those five players have played together for a grand total of 0 minutes this season.

Not going to be fooled by Port Vales' position in the league tonight, on good form - better than ours of late despite successive 1-0 wins for us.

1 goal in it

odd that he plays in your home games but not away, i'd have thought he'd have been more effective away

We tend to play with more pace in the side away from home, which seems to be working because I didn't realise that we'd won 5(?) out of our last 7 away. It's better than our home form where we've drawn too many.

Tough game for us tonight at Accrington,i'd be more than happy with a point but 3 would be our best result so far this season.

This the problem. We have a demoralised side who aren't gelling with the players returning.

It needs to click sharpish or we are stuffed. Just hoping that in the next four games we turn it around. Playing Newport and Grimsby at the moment looks like an opportunity to get things going again.

I wonder how many players we've used so far this season. It has affected our team's performance in three distinct ways: we have never managed to get a rhythm going as a cohesive team, the variation in quality and experience of our replacements has disjointed our performances and we have had to play players out of position almost every match.

McGhee can’t be helping matters. It just seems such a weird fit. Since promotion I’ve always viewed you lot as progressive in terms of your style on the pitch and off it. He’s an absolute dinosaur.

I make it 31 players. Only Tutonda has played every game and half the starting 11 last weekend had less than 5 league appearances.

We might well have managed to survive playing progressive football but a lot of our fanbase were too jumpy to wait for that. Moreover, judging from reports of Rossi's last match in sole charge against Colchester, it sounded like he had lost confidence in his methods and the team ended up playing not too did-similarly from a McGhee team.
He's certainly not going to be a long-term manager for us so hopefully McGhee-ball will be a quick effective fix.

And that it is, although we're showing Knott in CM which is a bit of a gamble IMO. Would prefer the energy and 'bite' of Whitehouse, although he offers more of a goal scoring threat.

Why do Grimsby ALWAYS want to sack their manager? Getting pretty tedious. Are you all just constantly depressed up there or something, my God.

Remember when you all wanted Hurst out, bet he's pissing himself now.

Do any of your fans think that maybe, just maybe, a bit of stability might be the way forward. Such as keeping a manager longer than a year? You had 3 last season for christ's sake and you'd like a new one already! Unbelievable some football fans, truly unbelievable.

when you come in to manage Grimsby, you don't take that job so you can have a decent season, safe from relegation, tilt at the playoffs. It's silverware or nowhere. Slade was brought in to deliver the champions league and so far has failed to achieve that

Don’t think any of our fans wanted Hurst to go last year. Don’t think any wanted Bignot to go either. Of course I’m talking exclusively about this forum, before you go quoting the Fishy. Not many people wanted Slade in the first place.
