Was surprised at the line-up we put out, though always going to play a weakened team. Hope Norwood doesn’t do anything daft, would have saved him for the play-offs.

I think the Tranmere boss might have had words with his team at half time as the came out with a much better attitude in the second half. Stone wall penalty which Norwood dispatched easily and I was thinking that you might go on and win it but our midfield three out ran your midfield to contain the supply to your good forward line and we snatched a deserved third right at the end. A goal with watching by the way. It was a bit over the top celebration but it's his first league goal so I'll give him that.

Tranmere weren't at full pace so their fans should forgive them the loss but if they do get promoted they will need to sort out their defence. It will be found out at league 1 level.

Sadly that was probably McNultys last ever game at this level. It'll be a shame to see him go as we wouldn't be back in the Football League without him, but our back line has massively improved since he was dropped for either Ellis or Nelson.

We were absolutely stinking in the first half today, especially the middle period where Colchester scored their two goals (before a charged down back-pass for the third). Well off the pace, with an improved second half.

When all your consistent 8/10 players - Bostwick, Toffolo, Eardley etc are having a mare, then you know it's a bad day at the office.

Difficult to judge Colchester too much on that performance, really.

No real surprise for me that the results have changed slightly off the back of seemingly experimenting a bit more. The full backs are playing slightly further up the pitch, which is exposing the CB's and we're taking the ball in much tighter spaces at the back and in deep midfield positions than normal.

We were 4th at the end of January, then Steven Pressley puts a bit of his stamp on the team, 3 months later and we finish 11th.

I’ve made no secret that I wanted him out this summer, but for no reason I can possibly think of we’ve rewarded him with a new deal. Fuck knows how bad he’d have had to be to not get a new contract! All I can do is hope he can turn things round in the summer otherwise I can see us looking for a new manager 5 games into the new season. We’ll lose our better players this summer and with a proven poor manager in charge I’m extremely worried about next season.

Some of the away performances I’ve witnessed under Pressley have been atrocious. 0 away wins since January says it all. Pathetic from Pressley

Not really. McNulty and Buxton haven’t been playing, Bakayogo is second choice. Neither have Gilmour, Dagnall, Tollitt and Smith rarely plays.

Not reading anything into today, friendly game so the Crawley “celebrations” were bizarre.

Since we beat Milton Keynes we literally declared and put the flip flops on. I've never seen us play so badly since the Cowleys took over.
Since Xmas we've won 3 out of 11 at home, thank God for the away record.
Plenty for the dynamic duo to work on for league one.

Surprised how many of the teams that needed a win on the last day against sides with nothing to play for failed to get it (Newport at Morecambe, Exeter against us, Carlisle at Yeovil, Macc v Cambridge and Notts at Swindon).

Good for the league I suppose, shows most teams aren't going to lie down and gift anyone easy points.

Still find it astonishing that Notts County have been relegated.

Remember how many people on here (including myself) as well as pundits, bookies etc all thought they'd smash it comfortably, or at least finish in the autos. Think everyone pretty much agreed they'd had the best summer transfer window.

Guess their mistake was getting rid of Nolan too soon.

Notts have been pretty pathetic tbh, after drawing at Lincoln beating us and Mansfield they should have pushed on and stayed up, they clearly had the ability but just seemed to accept relegation. Ardley should go, relegation wasn't inevitable a decent manager could have kept them up imo. It wasn't an impossible position by any stretch.

I know it's a case of the table doesn't lie, but on paper that Notts team should be at the other end of the table. I don't know enough about the club to point fingers at who is responsible but for a club with their history to drop out of the league after 150 odd years is sad. Hopefully they will bounce back.

How do Notts fans think this will affect their potential support? I've always wondered how 2 city teams, especially ones in the smaller citys, struggle when you have one team so much higher then another. Kids starting watching football now want/expect to see top level football and unless Dad is a rabid Notts supporter I would presume they are more likely to go to Forest.

We still suffer from having armchair Sky watching Arsenal, Chelsea ans Spurs supporters who would rather be in the pub watching 'their' team on sky than coming to the Stadium to watch MK.

Naturally County have a solid loyal supporter base and guess it will depend on how they do and the prices charged to watch Non-league football.

A good season and reasonable prices in any league will keep the crowds healthy.

7k average when bottom of the league is very good - a lot of League One/Two teams would love to have that!

They'll probably out most away games.

BTW Its a common theme round here for most fans to be supporters of the big boys - even we have loads who just come to our games to see some live football (you can tell by the empty seats when we aren't playing a top 6/8 side)

As a supporter of the smallest city with two EFL clubs it’s mainly down to family history (not for me as an out of area Vale fan mind I should be Leicester)

If you grow up learning to hate the other club and get taken to Vale or County for instance you’ll generally stick with it and the last thing you’d consider is going to the other side. Don’t see County fans flocking to Forest for instance. Just wouldn’t be done.

It was only 7k because every game there seemed to be a ticket offer of some description on.

And the Medical/Sports Science department won the League Two award in their field. That's two in three seasons for them having picked the equivalent award in our final NL season, too.
