Yep. The Nigel Eady Trust money is paying for the ground purchase. So that will be sorted 31 January.

Christ on a bike, we’re actually getting somewhere - and virtually debt free!

Goals do not necessarily equate to a good game.
That's park football, or someone who only enjoys the goal highlights of games.
Yeah goals don't always necessarily equate to a good game agreed, however they can definitely help. My point was that Adam Stag was saying the NL playoffs last season were proof that the step up in level is significant, however it's quite clear to see there was much more attacking quality in 90mins of Wrexham v Grimsby than there was in 180mins of Stags v Cobblers. There was some suspect defending yes, but the same CBs and keeper that started that match currently make up 3/5s of the joint third best defence in this division going off GA.

Saw both games, personally thought the L2 game was overall better quality taking out McAtee's involvement, yours was more exciting but then the top end of the NL generally is as there's more at stake. Can't compare the two levels based on that game but there is a gap in standard, it isn't huge but it is there.

So if we discount the best player across both fixtures by an absolute mile we can deduce that the L2 playoffs were better? Seems fair. We also saw a great finish from Ryan Taylor, some very good deliveries into the box throughout, us relatively nullifying Jordan Davies (who will play beyond L2 level) and a game played at a breakneck pace for much of the initial 90 minutes. Give me that over dull and cagey any day. Two teams trying to win over two teams trying not to lose.

How is Ryan Law doing at Gillingham and Jeffers at Swindon? Working how you hoped, or not?

Jephcott doing OK. Scored a couple - both 6 yard box poacher type goals. My only concern is he’s forced Wakeling to play out wide which doesn’t suit him as much as playing in the central striker role.

Can’t really complain, though. We’ll be signing him on a perm in Jan, no doubt.

It's about rugby, granted but one of the consortium involved in this sorry tale, Jed McRory used to be involved with us. Thank goodness we didn't go down the same route as Worcester Rugby did. I think Jed (or one of his consortium cronies) may have fingers in pies at Yeovil FC so I'm hopeful he doesn't ruin them as well.

Long Standing Grimsby Fan and Photographer asks to be paid for his work, Grimsby say no.

No doubt DN35 will throw him under the bus.

Is that Bleasey? Shocking if so, I had absolutely no idea he wasn't being paid. His photos and videos are class and used all the time by the club. Should be employed in an official capacity.

He familiarises himself with the more dickhead element from what I’ve seen on Twitter previously. His further responses kind of prove the club right.

Can't speak for Twitter as I'm not on it, but he's sound in real life and Town through and through. I think the club need to tread carefully here, it's one thing to promote this nicey nicey family ethos but (depending on what you mean by dickhead element) I really hope they don't do it to the point that they completely alienate certain factions of our support. The ones that bring the vast majority of the noise on away days aren't the types that we'll be left with should the club dilute our support. Definitely agree that he hasn't handled this well at all, but if the club labelling him as undesirable while using his work for free is true then they're acting hypocritically.

Yeah that could be an option for him for sure. Hopefully he carries on getting to take pics in some way as I personally take great delight in watching him being torn between going sick when we score and trying to maintain an air of professionalism.

Looks like everyone’s last game of the season will have to be moved as it clashes with Charlie becoming King on the same day.

There’s a thread on our forum about Jonny Williams, who we’ll lose when the World Cup comes around. Apparently we get £9000 per day compensation for every day he is absent from us.

Sounds a nice little earner!

The kickoff time for Sutton’s game at Carlisle on December 3rd has been moved to 1pm to avoid a clash with a potential England 2nd round tie at the World Cup.

It’s a bit presumptuous to assume England will get to the 2nd round of the World Cup, but I guess it’s best to be ready just in case.

FIFA is looking to compensate clubs that lose players to the world Cup. I think the plan mooted is £9k per day per player including preparation time.

So should Jonny Williams get called up for Wales we will be in for a little bit of income. And as an added bonus if Jojo Wollacott gets called up by Ghana we'll be due a % of that £9k as he was registered with us for 2 years prior to the World Cup (assume to take into account qualifications etc) so I imagine Charlton will get £6k and we get £3k or something similar.

Edit - didn't see I.D's earlier post.
