Rumours down here that our game away at Hartlepool is in doubt for the international break weekend - We've apparently had three players called up for International Duty:

Omar Beckles (Granada)
Ed Turns (Wales U21)
Paul Smyth (Northern Ireland)

Which means we can request a postponement.

Big boot in the balls for our fans who've booked onto the train for that day going up there, Grand Central have just made a tone of money which they won't refund........

A huge kick in the knackers for you train lot, to be honest you could have 6 away on international duty and you’ll still get a positive result against us, I wouldn’t bother getting it pulled, play on!

Just play it, you are practically promoted and will still win

Big news for us today as two of our most consistent players have signed contract extensions. Jack Armer has signed until 2026, while Callum Guy has committed to the club until 2025 (with an 'option' for a further season). Good work from Simpson and all concerned, Mellish and Patrick next please!

Massive news that we're actually getting our most promising players on 3 year contracts.

At last, we have completed the purchase of the County Ground from the council. All hail, Nigel Eady.

Can't believe it has happened at last. Got to name a stand after the guy at least what a true supporter.

Didn't quite know where to put this so....

Our ex chairman Shafqat Majeed (jailed in 2021 for ten years for tax fraud) has been ordered to pay the tax man £80k after swindling £16million....!

Those ten years look quite tempting.

In case you're wondering he and his brother ran an alcohol importing business and appear to have got greedy/stupid. They also had a thing about promising to invest £100k a year and then going into administration. They very nearly destroyed us and used to send the heavies around to supporters houses.

Surely Glenn is too old? Wagmi said this so it must be true.

Seriously, good luck to him. Good keeper, decent bloke.

I’m fairly sure he’ll win our POTY vote, he’s been fantastic even when we were utter turd in the first half of the season. Delighted he’s staying for at least another season.

Increase in revenue always sounds great but for 90% of clubs this'll lead to even more short term thinking paying bang average fourth tier footballers an extra grand a week rather than making clubs sustainable as it should do. Happens every single time these rights deals increase.

For those of us who have no lives anymore and go to every single game, the thought of having to go to somewhere 200+ miles away on a Sunday for say an 8pm Kick off so Sky can broadcast it pisses me off.

For those who live away and can't get to many games anymore this is great apart from having to pay for a sky subscription! Happily pay for ifollow but will be finding streams for sky.

I think most clubs are data driven these days, I know we use it but unfortunately not to our advantage the last 2 seasons

I think we're already using data to be fair to the club, as in we have the raw data and our backroom staff use it as well as they can, but this partnership is about harnessing that via the use of proper sports data analysis. I think we had the University of Loughbrough doing a similar thing for a while, but I assume this will be a step up from that.

Good luck for next season Casey, It was a good battle.
Thanks for the good wishes. Good luck for you too.

If the pies do come up there's a good chance to bounce straight back and miss playing us the season after.

We’ve signed a deal today with local Gillingham side Hollands and Blair to use their newly installed 3G pitch for training our youth team and development squad, they will also host their games.

Couldn’t work out what level they’re playing at as I’m useless at that kind of thing, but a lot of work has been done recently to the pitches and the stands. Link at the bottom for anyone interested in those kind of things.

SCEFL Premier side, which is step 5 of non-league. Promoted sides go into the Isthmian South East - Chatham Town were in the SCEFL just a couple of years back if that helps in terms of local knowledge!

Good to have links with our local clubs though, we're already fostering a relationship with the aforementioned Chatham, and with H&B just up the road it makes sense.

It’s completely turned us around, everything we do is basically unrecognisable to the lumbering festival of chaos we were under successive owners, but our recruitment in particular has become outstanding.

We’re probably a special case because of it being our owners’ day job as well though. Pretty sure at least one of our previous owners said we were ‘going down a data driven route’ before but it’s one thing saying that and another actually knowing how to harness it properly.

There are lies, damned lies and statistics!

Too often British coaches and players equate the centre halves passing to each other as a good thing in itself but what normally happens is the forwards stop running and the midfielders stop showing and eventually a hoof down field becomes necessary. Possession stats look great but what you've managed is to stop your attacking players running into space and then create a fifty fifty.

The one to look at as a reflection of the game is possession in the attacking third of the pitch. There is an excellent video, on youtube, from tifo irl on the subject...although it is Premier league based. This stat gives a great all round view of the true state of a game but always remember the statement at the top.

Rumours abound that wagmi are intent on selling us but the proof used was that one of the front men (Eben) for the collective is complaining about the fans slagging them off and how it affects the price of the nfts. Seems he tried to resign and seems to state that we are all 'not very nice'.

From being open and caring they seem to have gone into their shell, cancelling meetings with fans groups and such. I never rated their chances of turning us into the 'internet's team' but was/am happy to put up with the embarrassing stories and stunts if it brings in revenue and fans through the gate.
