Wales were pretty unlucky, put a decent effort in. I'm still not sure that disallowed goal was offside! I obviously have an affinity with Wales but I am an England supporter although I do always want all the Home nations to qualify for stuff tbh, I see celebrating Welsh and Scottish failure as punching down.

Poland are like my 2nd team, have been since i was young.

Always been alright with wales and NI.

England with their most talented group of players in about 20 years, some of the world's best players in fact.....with Gareth Southgate in charge of them. I'd be raging.

I don’t believe the hype at all. England have Bellingham who is top top quality. Defensively they are poor, not one world class defender. Several decent, but a long way short of having the best players in the world imo

For me Bellingham and Kane are world class now. Bellingham gets in every club side in the world, without a doubt. Foden will be and is very close now to that level.

After that Saka is superb, Walker is proven top class at elite and international level. Stones is quality. Rice impressive for his age and improving.

Agree there is too much hype but the above 7 are fantastic players. We struggle elsewhere defensively and between the sticks but our talent pool is as good as anyone's in Europe bar France.

It’s a joke, he’s the sort of bloke that would not cross a road without a zebra crossing.

I’ll watch the major tournament games but a rerun of Heartbeat is better than watching a England friendly.

There's a fair few Welsh supporters on here. I know that they won't reciprocate but I wanted them to qualify.
Fuck 'em, they (Wales fans generally not necessarily the ones on here) take great delight in watching us when we fall. Also if you can't get through the groups when 90% of Europe is playing in the Euros now then you really don't deserve to make it. Just a shame Poland are there, consistently the most boring team in international tournaments over recent years. Will be a blessing for the masses when Lewandowski stops dragging them over the line.

I'm more frustrated at the fact that Harry Maguire and Lewis Dunk are CB options tbh. Some ridiculous players in the squad though. Was at Wembley last night. Foden is a joy to watch, have a feeling he's in for a big tournament.

I used to want all the home nations to do well until I realised just how bitter and pathetic the Scottish fans are whenever England are playing so now Scotland can get fucked but I’ve not really noticed anything too bad with Wales or Northern Ireland so I’m neither here nor there with either of them.

The same as that, had a right argument with scottish lad over the rugby when they beat us (fair and square) he was saying how good it was, whereas id stated our main games were (and have always been) france and wales, he couldn’t comprehend it and insisted scotland must be our biggest game.

Was like, er no.

Yep same, used to want them all to do well. I feel like we rip the piss out of Scotland and always have though so them giving it back is fair game and I also think it's more in the jovial-but-could-at-any-point-boil-over category. In my experience, Scotland fans get that England fans are taking the piss when we play up to being Billy Big Bollockses but it seems a bit lost on Wales and Rep of Ireland fans. Northern Ireland is obviously a different kettle of fish, they either quite like us or fucking despise us but understandably so given the political situation. To reiterate, I'm not even talking generally here just off a series of negative interactions that I know probably don't reflect the generalcl consensus...or maybe they do  I know Welsh fans that don't seem bothered. I'd also add that Wales fans are the best home fans of the lot, class support. England probably the best on the road but deffo not at Wembley. I'd rather have all four home nations and Ireland in all tournaments just for that bit of needle but I certainly don't lose any sleep when they don't make it. I think group matches against the likes of Slovenia, Poland, Czech Republic, etc. are infinitely easier than any of those other four. That Scotland one in the last Euros was horrible to watch.

Was right up in the Gods last night, never been that high up at Wembley and I assumed the view wouldn't be great but it was really good. Had a superb view of Lukaku's ridiculous assist to which seconds before my mate had just said "ahh it's alright he's on his left".

My change in stance with Scotland came about in 1998, in the 96 Euro’s I wanted Scotland to go through the group with us and when we were hammering Holland 4-0 I think they were through then Holland got it back to 4-1 and that one goal sent Scotland out if I remember it right and I was gutted for them, then fast forward 2 years to the 98 World Cup and the Scotland fans were all out in their Argentina replica tops and scarves and that’s where the penny dropped with me, especially seeing that after how we were absolutely robbed in that game and I’ve despised Scottish football ever since.

What really makes me laugh is how other nationalities don’t understand the whole football coming home thing, I mean it’s just a song and we sing it as a laugh and a joke due to fact it’s been so long.

I remember Luka Modric suggesting it’s down to pure arrogance, I can sort of forgive him not understanding it but not the Welsh fans that ring up TalkSPORT fuming about it.

The thing we are most guilty of is chucking our pint when we score, embarrassing.

Anyone saying England haven’t got an amazing group of players now is just deliberately playing down chances or going with tired over hyped route. The defenders we have are still easily good enough to do a job even if perhaps the one area not blessed. It’s not easy winning these tournaments and we have a chance but nothing is guaranteed of course. Our midfield/forward area would dominate the so called golden generation. Gerrard, Lampard, Beckham, Scholes were quality PL players but couldn’t outplay the best together, this lot can or potentially can. Last night on another day we win by 3 and 4 and everyone raves about it - we played some unbelievable stuff against a very good Belgium team. We could have also beaten France in the WC just gone had things gone our way and given ourselves a shot at it. I don’t like Southgate much either but can’t argue with the performance last night (as opposed to Brazil).

I'm pretty apathetic really when it comes to the other home nations. Don't really care but if I had to lean one way, I'd sooner they did well, so long as it's not at the expense of us. If Wales and England are in a Euros together, England get knocked out and Wales are still in it, I'm absolutely cheering on Wales. When it comes to Scotland though, most of them carry such bitterness it sours you eventually. You can only have so much bile coming towards you before you go 'you know what, you can get fucked', and that's pretty much where I am with that lot. There was that video wasn't there recently with Watkins and McGinn that just typifies the whole thing, Watkins was like 'good luck pal hope Scotland win' and McGinn goes 'well, I hope England lose' and just come across such a sour weirdo that Watkins was a bit taken back. There's more chips than Harry Ramsdens on shoulders up there.

2 of the first choice defence are also first choice defenders for the best club side in the world though.

Looking as an outsider the only positions that are a bit ropey is the second CB and left back. Although when Shaw is fit I think he is top class as well. Pickford is a bit dodgy but he's still the best option. Rest of the side has a choice of brilliant players in every position IMO, absolutely spoilt for choice in the front positions.

Yep, that goal did indeed knock Scotland out  Regarding that Argentina match, the more tragic our demise is, the better it is for them. Bit of a blessing Twitter wasn't around then!

Exactly, it's become HMS Piss This Tinpot League for England fans. Anyone taking it seriously needs to have a word with themselves. Let's also not forget that it originally just meant that we were hosting a tournament.

With you on the pint chucking too.

Definitely got the midfield and attack to win but feel we need our first choice defence to be really confident going by last night particularly.

As for Wales - the better team but Poland held their nerve better.

Shame - a couple of bad results v Armenia cost you in the group .

According to one of the City forums, David Sharpe is coming in next week in some capacity. Former Mansfield CEO?

He'll get things sorted you (providing the owners are singing from the same hymn sheet). Decent bloke as well.

That would be interesting but I can't see him playing second fiddle to that joker Sparks considering the significant successes he's had in football.

Coming towards end of season so opportune time to check goals scored / conceded.

# Mansfield & Stockport have most goals scored and least goals conceded. Well done to both teams.

# Notts County supporters have seen an incredible 153 goals scored or just under 4 goals per match.

# Surprising statistic is Gillingham, 7th in League Table but down next to bottom of goals scored.

Gillingham either win 1-0 or draw 0-0 in every game that's why. Not conceded all season.

If Sharpe is available for that sort of role again I’ll be very disappointed he doesn’t end back up here.

Not so.
Gillingham are in promotion play-offs with a GD of minus 8 having conceded 47 goals and scored 39.
That is remarkable.
