There's very little snow around and little or nothing in the forecast. The pitch should be fine whilst the covers are on. Unfortunately, temperatures are set to stay below zero until saturday afternoon and may struggle to get above zero even then.

It should be possible for the approaches and terraces to be made safe but I'm not sure how the pitch will behave once the covers are taken off.

We'll know if it's off after tomorrow afternoon's inspection but there must be a remaining chance of a problem if it's given a provisional go ahead and we get unexpected snow or temperatures take even a small dip.

Planning on either a really good match or an afternoon in a village pub with some Luton mates.
Covers are only effective to around -3/-5.

We must be one of the few teams to have been able to train this week, on our 3G training pitch.

Would have thought most, if not all teams at this level have access to a 3G pitch, they arent exactly in short supply, most towns have a place open to the public.

I mean i play on one with my mates every Thursday after work and im shit and fat.

Not much to boast about.

I saw that the weather has got worse in that area in the last 24 hours so no chance of it going ahead is there?

I live "oop north" so don't know.

I'm sure in the absence of a 3G pitch Luton could have called Buckingham palace and ordered the royal family to clear their gardens for them

They'll be fine. They just need to stand Nathan Jones on the sidelines and let the stream of hot air do its work. While Lincoln can quite easily defrost theirs by harnessing the smug glow that still pervades Sincil Bank. You lot must be struggling to train though as I imagine you were banking on using Evans' face as a heater to defrost the pitch. Perhaps Carolyn Radford can donate some of her spare sunbeds to the cause.

There’s barely any snow on the roads and any frequently used footpaths are pretty clear too so it’ll just be round the ground that needs to be cleared from an access point of view.

Our covers are apparently effective down to -8C (we’ve got the covers the beeb gave us for the Man U game) so there’s a chance we might get it on.

We haven’t had a game postponed at the Abbey for literally years. I’m still hopeful.

We use St George’s if weather is bad I believe, don’t Barnet use the Hive facilities too? Assume everyone has been able to train professionally this week.

Indoor 3G at the Hive is waiting planning approval but the team trained at similar facilities nearby.

We wouldn't have been able to train after this morning on our 3G pitch because of the depth of snow.
Even if we can source indoor facilities I can't imagine the players getting there easily, unless our chairman picks them up in his 4x4..
Be utterly amazed if our game goes ahead on Saturday

Pitch inspection at Stevenage today.

Ideally it'll be off, give us more chance to bounce back and get ready for Lincoln

Pitch inspection at Crewe midday today. Can't see a problem tbh, looks fine to me. Just grab an orange ball out and away you go.

We've been able to train a couple of days indoors at Cirencester this week, but the main problems been getting in apparently. Travelling up will be the biggest issue on Sat I reckon, even if the pitch is playable.

As like imp pointed out there's no problem with the Ricoh and it's under soil heating for the pitch to be fit it's just can Lincoln and fans get there ok, is the only doubt for our game

No only Luton!

On a related note, it's weeks like this that Curle's decision to insist players live in Carlisle during the week is vindicated. Kavanagh was happy for players to commute in from all over every morning for training, not to mention for players to make their own way to away games. I think it was one of the main arguments between Curle and Billy Paynter, because fat Billy had been allowed to commute from Liverpool and then Curle comes in and says no, you get digs in Carlisle and Billy puts his foot down.

Seems a bit OTT. Our manager lives in Wiltshire, many of the players live in the Bristol area.I can't imagine how they will get in to training today. But it's a one off.

We struggle to get games on if weather dips below 4c due to the shadow of the main stand so this is a certainty to be off. More snow forecast today too. I suspect even if the pitch is playable they’ll play it safe and call it off.

I think it's a good thing, I mean it's not just about poor weather, he also doesn't want players tiring themselves out racking up over a thousand miles a week travelling. not seeing each other outside training and matchdays, having no connection to the city and not meeting up for away games until an hour before kickoff. He also expects the whole squad to attend home games and prefers if they attend away games too.

I live 3 miles from St. George's and didn't leave my village yesterday because of the snow. I doubt many people will be using the facilities over the next few days.

I know we use it but not sure if on this occasion, I think Dimensions have a 3G pitch locally so may have gone there even.

Pope was to play tomorrow then have his op to be back for the Chesterfield/Crewe double header, could of had it done Sunday had we known to get back a week earlier!

Our game at Cheltenham is off until Tuesday, which seems both risky and ridiculously short notice.

We're going to be busy in April catching up on postponed games at this rate. Not ideal with our wafer thin squad packed full of injuries
