And I hope Indian Dan doesn't object this time! Morecambe are not FGR and their style's not that pleasing on the eye but it sure is effective. In a way they remind me of the U's under John Beck back in 1992. When Glenn Hoddle then managing Swindon said we were anti football and were destroying the beautiful game. Hahaha.

Is there truly a right and wrong way to play the game? And if he was all for tradition back then, why did he never go for a 0-0-10 playing formation like all the teams used to do at the start back in the 1900's?

Hoddle got us promoted to the premier league and John Beck didn't, so I'd say it looks like GH may have known what he was talking about. Not all the time mind you, he did say some fucking stupid things. Good footballer mind.

Well done Morecambe. I hope Del Boy has better luck than the last time he went to Wembley. 33,000 plus fans turned up, just not the Argo players. He does tend to learn his lessons though, so think you’ll be better prepared than we were.

Ps Vanni I do agree with you. There is no 'right' way of playing football. That's what makes it interesting, the different tactical styles that are adapted. Would be boring if every team played the same way.

Seriously though, as much as I love what Beck did for us in those three years when he took us from the 4th to the 2nd div, his brand of footy was not easy on the eye. Ha, there were times I thought I was at Wimbledon watching some tennis match.

Anyway, my point was more about his anti football comment because how can any football team be against football. I have always believed there's no right and wrong way of playing the game.

Newport look like with the 2-0 lead they were struggling with the old issue of whether to stick or twist.

Well well well. This has gotten very interesting very quickly. Excellent start from Forest Green, and Newport look completely shell-shocked to concede two so quickly. Good to see former Norwich man Adams in the goals as well.

Really enjoyed that half. Great work from FGR to get back into it before Newport found their feet in the game.

Decent claim for a foul right at the end of the half when a Newport player had a grip of Collins shirt as well. Think he was very unlucky the ref had harshly booked him for diving a few minutes earlier so that might have made the ref turn the appeal down.
