did you lose the game, if you lost I doubt it'll matter, if you got a point/three point it could be very interesting down the line if you survived by a point.

Could be very messy if it is tight at the end of the season. How involved was he in Mansfield's goals on the night? Did he clear any 'goals' for Exeter with a block or goal line clearance? If someone goes down on goal difference instead of Mansfield it could be a nightmare. The chances of the specific scenario presenting itself are very slim, but imagine if it does.
With that being said, you can't penalise Exeter by replaying the game, as they may not win such a replay, so what else could the FA really do?

They've fined us and that will be it. We lost the game so they can't take any points off us. Lambe didn't score in the game either, infact I don't think he did anything of note at all.

Even if Lambe was indeed involved in one of Mansfield's goals, it would be pathetic if the side that goes down on goal difference claim they were hard done.

With the state of our GD I don't think it's going to trouble most sides!

Would have been a nightmare had we won it - as the points would have been correctly taken from us.

Well you would just be in the same position, as they would have been taking away three extra points you would have gained that you haven't anyway.

Cheltenham seem to have steadied the ship off the field at least, with a much more positive atmosphere. Just need that to translate to results on the pitch and immediately too, with the run of fixtures they have got.

I also note that Cambridge have got a good record against the teams below them, so they should be fine really with three more of them to go at home, even if a few of them are starting to worry.

I can't see us losing. I think we have what it takes to mount a playoff challenge.

Err, I know we're not at Themepark Kingsmeadow where all struggling teams kick-start their season but Cambridge are on a, comparatively, bad run and had a tonking on Saturday. Home banker shirley?!

I genuinely think that we have got through that. Come tomorrow night I will no doubt be in a shit mood after we get hammered. But I think we are looking up. And don't call me Shirley.

PFA getting involved with bust-ups between 2 players and Curle.

In a way probably a non-story as I'd bet PFA get involved in these things all over place, but as its gone public in local press that has whacked abit more pressure on it all.

For Carlisle to move forward we really do need to sort team morale which has been in the sewers for 3 years now, began by Abbott for his 'favourites' approach which caused a big rift between fans and manager as he used to use the same scapegoats each week and turn a blind eye on some others, then came Calamity Kav with his 'hate everyone' approach which seemed to drain life and care out of everyone, now we seem to have Curle and his 'my way or f*ck off' approach which seems to not be working either.

I know when you do crap the team usually has poor morale, but we seem full of in-fighting, isolated players, players go injured then vanish as if we've a Carlisle Bermuda triangle, etc, etc........not helping when you need unity.

He got sacked at Mansfield following an incident with players, if memory serves me right it involved humiliation of a youth team player.

He also had "his way or my way" ideas too - the problem being is when the "my way or no way" attitude pisses off the fans, as a manager you are never going to win

Shall I or my fellow U's be making a brief appearance on this thread tonight? Maybe, but I still am 100% positive we won't go down. Too many poor sides below us. Another reason is that I believe surely this bad patch we're passing through won't last 'til the end of the season.

Or I may be wrong and look like an idiot come May.

I remember saying the same thing last season. We hadn't been in the relegation zone since the first couple of weeks of the season, then late Feb early March we hit a horrendous run of form, we fell into the relegation places late March and we never got out.

I don't believe you'll go down, but you can never be 100% sure as a bad month or so of form could hit anyone like a ton of bricks.

They must feel similar to how we felt against Shrewsbury the other week.

Long long journey home for those fans after that!

Hahaha what a bunch of bottlers, can't believe that. That could've been you reasonably clear of the drop, now you're right back into it and that won't be all too good for the morale either.

Saturday night and you'd think we were top of the league from some peoples reactions (me included), now the majority are back on suicide watch. It's like being bipolar!

That is almost the precise situation we were in with Shrewsbury, to think back to (I listen to the radio while watching) Phillips and Lumsdon almost celebrating us putting our relegation fears behind us as we went into injury time in that game.

The worst thing is that we've done it loads of times this season. And I won't even be surprised if we do it again, probably last game of the season when we need a win to stay up.

If we don't beat Cheltenham, I really fear for us after that. I was sitting at 2-0 thinking 'don't drop back', because as has been said, we've done it consistently this season. We were not helped having to make 2 changes to the back four due to injury, but I've got to be honest - the mood on our forum is understandably annoyed at best and pissed off at worst.
We had the chance to go 6 clear of the drop and we do that. We just haven't got a backbone when put under any sort of pressure.
