Very similar to us last season, 2-0 up vs MK Dons and sitting 4 or places above the drop zone, ended up losing 3-2, in relegation zone and after that our form just totally collapsed ended up rock bottom. Don't think the same will happen again, hope it doesn't for Tranmere's sake (nothing to do with me having £££ on Cheltenham to go down ;))

I think we also had one of those moments (admitadly we got a point) when we somehow managed to draw 1-1 with northampton when they'd been down to 10 men for 60 minutes.

It happens to us all at some stage.

18 points we've thrown away from winning positions this season, the majority or them after the 80th minute.

Shrewsbury away - 1-0 up until the 90th minute, end up losing 2-1.
Cheltenham at home - 2-1 up, lose 3-2.
Accrington away - 2-1 up, lose 3-2.
Walsall in JPT - 2-0 up, concede twice and lose on penalties.
Cambridge at home - 1-0 up until the 89th minute, draw 1-1.
Newport away - 85th minute equaliser to draw 1-1.
Portsmouth tonight - 2-0 up, lose 3-2.

Apparently #thingsbetterthantranmere is trending in the UK on twitter. Oh well, if you can't laugh then you'll cry.

I think now we're 12 points clear of the drop we can declare ourselves out of this thread now.

Good luck, everyone!

Cheltenham v tranmere looks fairly massive this weekend. A home win would certainly put the cat amoungst the pidgeons.

It's looking more and more like it's anyone from 9 sides as it stands. Cambridge in 16th and 5 points behind Accrington in 15th.

Fixture wise this weekend there are some interesting games coming up

This weekend -
Cheltenham Vs Tranmere
Mansfield Vs Dagenham

Tuesday -
Cambridge vs York
Carlisle vs Cheltenham
Dagenham vs Hartlepool

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
I said 2 pages back the next week is make or break for Cheltenham.

they play Tranmere at home, then Carlisle away within 4 days and follow it up with Mansfield at home.

I think if they come out of that week with no wins their morale could be shattered and I'm unsure if they'd recover. Of course they could easily come out of it with 3 wins and be on a roll.

Great result for everyone last night, although I still see Tranmere getting out of it eventually. They have the advantage of having a very good manager compared to a lot of the other sides down here.

Cheltenham have done some very good business in the loan window this week. Paoblo Mills, Matt Sparrow and Sean Harrad are decent enough.

Mansfield I think will go down. Rookie manager and very little quality in their squad. No player other than maybe Kee jumps out as being particularly good.

Ah, but we've picked up 7 points from the last 5 games without him playing.

Sound reasoning there, but cool. :fl:

Cool I'll take you as a poster seriously when you decide to not let your best players go such as Byron Harrison #onemanteam

To be honest, what has a manager's decision got to do with a fans' ability to post on a message board? What a bizarre comment. Anyway, we lose to Cheltenham tomorrow and we will have a right good crack at getting relegated.

Mansfield fans are very sensitive

It was just a stupid post.

If someone said to me we were relegation candidates because of -
We can't score more than 1 goal a game
We can't defend away
We can't get any points away
We can't win 2 games in a row

Then yeah, Id be like, that's why we are where we are - when its down to someone who's our "best player" that we don't play, you do wonder

Hartlepool will make it look a little bit more interesting if they can hold on.

Said it weeks ago in this thread that Hartlepool are going to overtake us and we're going to finish bottom and it's now looking like that could be the case.

4 or 5 more massive nails banged into our coffin today.

Exeter are on a winless run and ,imo, York missed a great chance for a much needed 3 points. They need to start winning games soon. Tranmere too didn't have good day, as I thought they would get a point, though I don't think they will go down. Unsure about York though.

As for Carlisle, I don't expect too much when they're playing away, so if they win a couple of their upcoming home ones they've got a chance at staying up.

I honestly think we'll go down this season, Koumas and Laird both been quality when they've been given a chance recently yet they're both sat on the bench. Adams doesn't seem to have any idea how to influence a game in our favour, his substitutions are baffling and the endless changes to the back line result in stupid goals being conceded every game.

Wouldn't be arsed if Adams gets sacked before the end of the season, it'd probably give us a better chance of staying up if we appointed someone who gave a shit.
