I
I backed us on New Years Day when we won it. We were about 10th at the time!

As did I.

I put £20 on @ 16/1.

Think we were about 14 adrift of newport at the time when I did it.

Safety in 08/09 is factoring out Luton's 30 points deduction/ Safety 06/07 is factoring out Boston's 10 point deduction.

Table continues to look interesting with 13 left to play and 39 points up for grabs. Tomorrow nights fixtures down the bottom...

Cambridge United vs York City
Carlisle United vs Cheltenham Town
Dagenham & Redbridge vs Hartlepool United

Newport County vs Mansfield Town
Oxford United vs
Morecambe
Tranmere Rovers vs Wycombe Wanderers.

Two big games down the bottom then. Reckon York will fancy their chances at Cambridge and pick up a point at the very least.

This time tomorrow night I'll either be pretty chilled out or scrutinising the League Two table furiously and pondering every scenario possible.

We've already got more points than when we were last in this division, I'll take that. ;-)

Interesting you think we're not in the fight anymore, we reckon we need a win or two this month to get out of it completely.

We actually got 40 points in 04/05, but had 10 deducted, so 41 points were needed for safety.

Phew! Glad to see the end of that match. Terrible game by all accounts, we edged it and Cheltenham sounded dire. Big worries for them I would think.

Tranmere continue to be in trouble, had the best part of 30 minutes against 10 man Wycombe and still came up short.

Micky Adams continuing to pick strange teams, making strange substitutions. Looking bleak for them.

If we beat Cheltenham on Saturday it would take a miracle for us to go down. Since the start of February we've picked up 13 points in 7 games, that ratio over a season would leave us on 85 points and pushing for promotion.

Mansfield are in very good form, an away win was vital though, we needed that.

Thank god that's over. We were poor, Hartlepool were poor. Thankfully they fell asleep at one crucial moment and we hit an absolute worldy for the other. I feel much better now.

Big win for ourselves tonight. Hartlepool looked good until they fell behind then seemed very flat

Anyone got directions for Eastleigh? Chester, Wrexham and Southport I've got covered, but the Southern ones I'm struggling with.
11/2 to go down - printing money if you are the betting type. Today was the day I realised we've had it. Feel like crying we are that bad.

We're an utter shambles at the moment, probably the lowest I've ever felt as a Tranmere fan.

Adams has been well backed, we've cancelled contracts, made a ton of signings, changed all the backroom staff and the only direction we've gone is backwards. How he got Port Vale out of this league I've no idea.

To be fair, the referee was awful. Wycombe were time wasting cheats but were still better than us. The media like to portray that there are only 2 sides on Merseyside - you and the blue lot could well be by August. We go down and it's up in the air if we survive.

Words can't do justice as to just how shite that match was tonight.

I was certain on Carlisle going down but unsure on the other team. My money is on Cheltenham joining us after what I witnessed tonight.

One of you will stay up, because we are 100% going down. You beat us, they beat us. Micky has royally messed it up by taking a wrecking ball to a problem that required skillful surgery. We needed 3 or 4 and signed about 12.

Stop your panic. It's still h'pool plus 1. My money is still In Cheltenham. I reconsider 48 points will be enough.

Quite a few of us want you to beat Cheltenham on Saturday... though I'd have wanted you to beat them even more had Tranmere beaten them last Saturday.

Surely there's no way now Hartlepool can claw their way out of it.

Match was bad because it was a relegation battle between two teams at the wrong end of the table, but we did just enough to earn the win. Just enough is all you need to be. All you need to do to avoid relegation is be just a tiny bit less shit than at least two other teams in the division and I would say we're a tiny bit less shit than Cheltenham and Hartlepool.

We would still need 14 points to get 48. Genuinely cannot see where they are coming from. I'm absolutely panicking because it's more than just League status at stake - there are really doubts about our ability to keep going at all if we go down. All our future plans are based on League football and if we don't have it, who covers the £1m a year loss if the proposed investment pulls out?

We're in a similar situation regarding that. Talks are ongoing, but they're taking time. Who knows what would happen if we went down and the club still didn't have a new owner.

We'll be one of the two.

Out of our last 12 games only four are against teams in the bottom half.

Dagenham and Mansfield who are in decent form, Oxford and Cambridge.

The other eight are Burton, Luton, Bury and Southend (all in the top seven), Stevenage, Plymouth and Northampton, (pushing playoffs) and Wimbledon (still in with our shout of the playoffs).

The only one that looks even slightly winnable is Cambridge who are almost as bad as us at the moment, although Cheltenham had only won one in 18 and hadn't kept a clean sheet in 24 and they beat us 2-0.

Cambridge seem to have collapsed, but should have enough points on the board already.
Surely Hartlepool can't survive now, and they play Burton at the weekend.
Tranmere are also on a rotten run, and the fans are starting to lose faith.
Vital win for us, Cheltenham were poor though and I can see them joining Hartlepool in the Vanarama next season.
