That's easy. We let Chris Wilder leave and join you so you are close to play offs and we are close to relegation!

With things as they are, do you reckon it was the right move to let Wilder go? I know a few still do

Hartlepool out of the bottom 2.

Amazing achievement. They are definitely staying up. 4 wins in a row.

My god we are poor. If anyone finishes below this shower of shite then they should give up football and find a new sport.

Cheltenham 3-0 down against Plymouth, they are worse than us. Tranmere are losing most weeks now too.

I still think tranmere will win 2 or 3 games which should be enough to get them above us.

We won't win another game all season. We are a dreadful football team with a few decent players who are either injured or suspended.

We'll get 2 more points at the very most.

That's the sign of a shit team when we're relying on other teams helping us with 7 games to go.

Why? Because we know that our team isn't capable of winning the required number of football matches to save us from relegation.

Let's hope we don't slack off and we keep up the hard graft.

But for now I'm with Soup Ladle

Easter weekend will decide a lot of things. Crucial momentum can be gained or lost over them two quick games. And then you're looking at a 5 game run in.

Easter fixtures

York vs Cheltenham
Cheltenham vs Stevenage

Stevenage vs Tranmere
Tranmere vs Luton

Newport vs Hartlepool
Hartlepool vs Southend

Carlisle vs Portsmouth
Accrington vs Carlisle

York vs Cheltenham
Oxford vs York

Cambridge vs Bury
Northampton vs Cambridge

I'm not including Mansfield just yet. If they pick up nothing over Easter then we'll take another look.

I'd say Hartlepool need to be careful that they don't assume they've done their job already as they are two hard games. York vs Cheltenham is huge and I'd bank on the draw there. In fact, York have a golden chance to get out of it. Two wins and they're fine I think. Tranmere will want at least a win there, Carlisle the same.

Agreed. Two tough games over Easter, if we can get a win out of them two, we'll have done all right.

But let's just enjoy being off the bottom for the first time since the doomsday book came out

To be fair it was a great goal. Though why we were not more professional and kill the game off I will never know.

I'm hoping Tranmere and Cheltenham carry on not winning , Pools have simply just joined the relegation fight that's all, still need to find 3 wins from 7, no easy task for sure

Our next 3 games are Southend away, Shrewsbury home then Plymouth away = 0 points

Our only hope is that Tranmere andCheltenham lose every one of their remaining games.

We have 2 games coming up where we can get maybe a point from, 2 at the most. Then the remaining 5 games are all certain defeats.

It's going to take 2 horrendous teams to stop us going down.

Nothing's changed for me, we're 100% down.

Yeah knew you'd say that but I don't think this is a bad time to play them sides. They can get nervy around this stage. Plus, even if you did lose them three, I think you will grind out enough points to be alright.

Stop it. You're going nowhere. Us and Cheltenham.

More than likely.

Just when you get one of those showings that are just SO bad you wonder what they've been doing this week

One win in 16 for us after today.

Thankfully we always win at Sixfields. Otherwise I can't see where our next win comes from.

At Sixfields NTFC Wins 1 Draws 2 Defeats 5! Our only win came in 1995 when we won 3-0 - think Corazzin was sent off!

I went to Cheltenham v Plymouth today and it wasn't pretty stuff - Cheltenham looked like they wouldn't have scored if they were still playing, they created nothing.

Quite a few of our fans have this thinking that we'll automatically bounce back at the first attempt next season.

I don't know what planet they are on. Most of our players are in the first years of 2 year contracts. This shower of shite isn't sunday morning pub league standard never mind conference standard!

yup, part of the reason we have done well this season is that Ainsworth lucked out in terms of the timings of contracts and so on, and was able to clear out 8 players - which is a huge amount when you consider how few players we've used this season. A further 1 retired midway through the season through injury and we got rid of another in January - he wasn't shite but wasn't getting game time and would rather go elsewhere for first team football.

It's depressing when you can't clear out dead wood, especially when they're not good enough for the level they're at.
