Let's keep it all as it is shall we, and forget this L2 South and L2 North nonsense. I support the U's so it could be that one year we're in the South the next in the North, which is all well and good as I would get to watch a wide variety of other sides. But imagine supporting a definitely Northern side like Carlisle or a deffo Southern side like Exeter and always watching your lot playing the same sides over and over again.

Some fans seem sure that dividing the league into two sections will mean bigger gates as there'll be more local/ish games, which is true enough I guess. Then again, I reckon any increase in gates will only be for a couple of years before people get tired of playing the same sides. Case in point was when we had Luton down with us in the connie (it was the closest thing to a proper derby game at the time) - loads of interest in the first couple of years until it got pretty boring pretty quickly and it was seen as just another game and nothing else.

I guess as it’s well established that southern sides are soft, there isn’t really any need for a song about it.

But I've never thought of Mansfield as being soft??? Unless you see yourselves as northern, which btw, you aren't.

One sure way to determine if some town is truly northern is by having a little chat with a local chap. If you understand every single word that he utters then he ain't no northener. OTOH, if you find yourself thinking 'wtf is this strange man going on about?' every nano second then yes, his place of birth is indeed a proper Northern town.

My wife is from Cinderford in the Forest of Dean - they speak a completely different language in that part of the county. When her nan speaks I genuinely have no idea what she's saying.

Feels like that already to be fair!

I see Hardy's already bigging these two bids up for Notts. Sometimes he just needs to stop talking and let things run its course.

Indeed! Sadly he will never change. Ah well - I guess he won't be our problem soon... assuming the buyers actually exist and the sale goes smoothly... :/ x

They're definitely northerners, they more than pass the "North of Tiverton" rule of thumb that is used.

Ones from that company who have fans as the owners via their mobile and the other is a cheeky £5 bet from a mansfield fan.

I don't think I've ever rolled my eyes as hard as I did when I read that article. Just sell the club and let the new owners talk about their plans and aims.

My wife’s Sisters were raised in Cornwall and I have similar problems understanding them, proper country bumpkins.

Oh just fuck off. Why can everyone else pull off a win out of nowhere against decent sides but we always get bummed. Why can't you all be shit against us instead. Fucking joke shop.

Macc and Notts fans will probably say they're down now but it ain't over till it's over as Newport's shithousery proved two years ago.

Really hoping one of Notts and Macc get there a t together and stay up at Yeovils expense. Both great away days.

Personally want Vale (bored of going there compared to other local aways) and Notts (bogey team) down but wouldn't mind Yeovil (other bogey team) down as well. Shame Macc looked to have fucked it ever since their last minute heroics against us.

I get you but you lot were up against MK, who IMO will make the top 3. They just had a little blip a few weeks back, just like all sides will have at some point or other.

There are no free hits in L2 and esp at this late stage of the season but a game against MK is the closest thing to it. I think your next two games are Exeter at home (and they are in poor form atm) and then away at Yeovil, so you're still in with a chance, esp if you can beat the latter side.

Mentally, we are down. We actually looked alright before their goal, but as soon as we conceded our heads dropped and we crumbled.

Mahussive win today both points wise and mentally.

With GD effectively 8 clear but today means nothing if we go and lose to Yeovil Tuesday. Win that and the bottom two fail to win and we probably leave it a three way battle between the bottom two and Yeovil.

10/11 points with GD with 9 to go will be fairly healthy for us as your looking at the bottom two winning 4 games to over haul us without picking up a point in any of ours.

Pivotal round of fixtures.
