Having 'stern words' is all well and good, but in the current climate you can't expect players to tear up their contracts or take a pay cut somewhere else.

What happened to him, I thought he was the next big prospect, probably ending up at Luton for big bucks?
Part of it is that our DOF's son is also a right back and always somehow gets picked, but its mainly because he hasn't really developed and isn't good enough ATM. Injuries have taken their toll a bit on him and there are rumours of slight ill discipline off the field - He doesn't take care of himself as well as he should apparently.

I see. Shame he hasn't kicked on or doesn't have the required attitude, i thought he was gonna make you guys some money.

We have 5 key players we need to tie down, but the likelyhood is all 5 will leave at least at the end of the season.

Dan Happe - Already heard rumours the club are happy to offload him in this window, came through our youth team and is now a very well established centre half. 6'5 Left footed with a good range of passing and good defensive attributes. No chance he was ever going to stay beyond the last contract extension he signed last season.

Danny Johnson - He's from the North East, so I'd imagine any northern club in League One would take a punt on him. It would take a very silly amount of money for the club to part with him now IMO, I'd happily let him leave for nothing in the summer because his goals in the short term would be near on impossible to replace. 50/50 on whether he will stay or go in this window, but I think he will stay unless silly money is involved. No chance he is with us next season, no chance because a club in League One will gamble on him.

Lawrence Vigouroux - Probably the best keeper in this league and I don't make those sort of statements often, but he is too good to be playing in League Two. No club will pay a fee for him as he's 27, but he's already been tweeting his best bits of this season, so he is putting himself out there! Will almost certainly leave us at the end of the season.

James Brophy - One of the quickest and most skillful players in this league, deserves to play higher on that alone. But his end product isn't always the best, which is why I doubt anyone would pay money for him and he's 27 at the end of the season. We've had him 3 and a half years and I think he will move on at the end of the season. Would be a useful signing for any League One side on a free, if he screws his head on a bit better he can still progress.

Conor Wilkinson - Always had talent, but his fitness has always been an issue, last season he was in and out of the team and managed 5 goals. When he gets a run of games and gets going he is a very useful forward and this season he's added some quality goals to his game with 10 in total, he was the same for Dagenham as well. IMO he is replaceable and we have players who are more than capable of replacing him, he's only had 2 good seasons in a career dogged by injuries if we can get a fee for him now I'd say its worth taking. If he stays until the end of the season and he keeps adding goals to his name he will be off anyway, because he will be worth a punt to any League One side on a free. He also has family I think in the North West - He was regularly seen heading to that part of the country on the trains after several away games last season.
We’d take Vigouroux back in a heartbeat judging by the 2 bumbling clowns we have at the moment. Both leaving in January.

Very true. I can’t see anyone taking someone like Ajose or Alex Fisher off our hands. Potentially we could come to an agreement with a player to mutually terminate but that would mean a big outlay for us, so not the best move.

Moomin; what is it with Alex Fisher?

I can remember seeing him a few times and, although not a world beater, he always seemed ok but he has definitely travelled around a lot.

Its that time of year anyone decent will be offski
Newport have had to send players back from loan agreements as have Port Vale.
FGR are losing players as are Crawley.
Orient may lose the most as many are out of contract.
Who will be stronger when the transfer window shuts........Bolton, Salford and Exeter would be my guess
We should be fine. Kayode is the only loanee who plays in our first team. Losing him would be a blow but we're not short of alternatives up front.

Bennett will be out of contract, but chances of tying him up sound positive. There's a few in contract players who might attract attention, Guy, Hayden, Patrick, Tanner, Mellish... But think we'll hold on to them.

Hurst had a good track record in the transfer market last time he was here, so hopefully we'll come out of Jan stronger. I'd imagine Bolton and Salford will have to either offload or use the loan market to improve.

We've just released Offrande Zanzala as he wasn't getting in our side so I'd expect him to wash up somewhere at this level. Good lad just doesn't fit the way we play.

Offloaded Gordon to Barnet.....Billy the fish and Tom White will return to Fleetwood and Blackburn

Those 3 wages may pay Kieron Lee wages and we have plenty of of scope with us being well below the salary cap to bring 3 more quality players in

Mansfield will be stronger I'm sure, Clough will be backed by JR as usual.

I think Cook and Maynard are both available to leave to be honest.

Haha "well below", no matter how much you bang on about this you're not going to convince anyone of that. You also know you're not right.

Apparently Sproson (his agent) suggests talks this week with Vale trying to sign Jake Taylor from Forest after his successful loan last season. Currently on loan at Scunny

He's barely played for us but he's starting now, wouldn't really be a big loss as he hasn't fit in here seemingly

Id have taylor at vale as he did well with us last season and let's face it he's better than any of the crap we have in midfield playing at the moment. The problem will be sprosan said something about he wants join a side that's in the top 6 and vale and scunthorpe are looking like bottom 6 clubs.

His name has been mentioned on Exeweb. We could do with another forward and we like a big lad but he’s need to dislodge Bowman who’s been on form of late.

He’s ok and works really hard, but will never score more than 8-10. He struggles to get in our team anyway as we tend to play one up top and Bowman has that spot. He’s also started to become a little injury prone as he’s now in his thirties.

can see him heading back to Yeovil when he leaves here and think he’d do well enough in the league below.

If premier League scouts are watching Pollock this afternoon, Town fans have no worries about him leaving us this window.

Confirmed that three loanees who have been on the fringes of the squad have returned or are due to return to their parent clubs. Micah Obiero to Huddersfield, Connor Malley to Sunderland and Marcus Dewhurst to Sheffield United.

Ethan Walker isn't currently due to return from Preston though is back in training and we would like to speak to Preston about bringing him back.

This will hopefully free up some space in our squad to bring in a right back to step in for Tanner and maybe a more clinical striker.

It's been reported that Rotherham will allow Kayode to make the decision himself over what to do, which is good news as it seems he's very happy here.

Listening to Beech's comments after the match he agrees that we need to reward Bennett financially for his performances but also that we might not be able to reward him as richly as he may get elsewhere and he's working on convincing Bennett that the advantages of playing for Carlisle go beyond the financial rewards. League One clubs no doubt will be taking a look so I hope we can find some money from somewhere to improve our offer because he's been immense and is way too good for league Two.

Our captain Carl Winchester being lined up by Sunderland apparently, whilst strikers Josh March and Matty Stevens are being linked with Harrogate and Stevenage.

Rumours on twitter that we’re selling Mellish to Sunderland.

To be honest if it’s a good offer I think we can cope, it’s not like losing Guy for example. Plus it might give us a bit of extra cash to offer Bennett and as you say to sign a right back to cover while Tanner is out.

Doubt it'll be a good offer though. Aren't Sunderland broke?

So looks like Forest have told Jake Taylor he’s not going to be part of their plans, he’s not happy at Scunny (been played as a wing back apparently!?!)

Vale have made a cash offer which Forest and Jake have “warmly received” should be recalled Monday, hopefully get it done because we’ve been crying out for his goals and presence in the middle. Danny Shitehead Christ.

It’d be a start. I fear that the problems are a lot bigger than just bring Jake back though. We really need to get this recruitment right for once.

Something I don’t think any of us factored in at the start of this season was the spine of the team we have allowed to get old together and now with Legges performances for example we are paying the price as he has fallen off the cliff to put it mildly and Joyce and Pope are not far behind.

Huh? Who the hell is reporting on this?

He hasn't played wing back once. He started in CM earlier in the season, didn't play great but the rest of team was playing badly too. He then missed a few weeks due to COVID and couldn't get in due to the form of McAtee.

He's played the last two games in CAM and been okay.

His agent regarding the likely move (who’s a Vale legend if a bit of a shit pundit) and the Vale podcast regarding the rest.
