I spotted somewhere Paul Ogden is chief scout at Barrow, I seem to remember him having a decent eye for players when he worked for Paul Cox in the conference.

I think this is about the 17th time he has rejoined us.

Danny Rowe now confirmed as signed from Oldham for an undisclosed fee. A good bit of business for us I reckon

But can he bang like Paul Taylor did. ;)

Another decent addition.

Really? I know he joined you with Cox back then. He had a decent track record at Mansfield, think he may have brought Sam Clucas to the club.

It's actually Danny Rowe we are trying to sign from Oldham

We’ve also rejected two bids from Charlton, in the region of £300K, for Joel Randall. We’re asking for near £1M according to Bowyer.

Great first season for him, but he needs a season or two with us to really develop as we’ll give him the game time. A move too early could set him back, but any bid around the £750k mark will surely see us accept it.
Your not getting 1m for a player who played 15 lge 2 games
Was your best player against us....Keep him and sell this time next year

They got more than that for Ampadu and he played less than ten times for them...

He seemed to come and go when Cox left and Mickey Moore took over. After Moore left we never heard about him again until recently.

Yep no chance of £1M in the current climate. Plus, he’s not worth that....yet. I agree, if we keep playing him and he keeps improving at the rate he has in 25 games, then we will make a shed load down the line.

The right way to go.....keep him while he improves and you never know what he could be worth in 12 months.
No one is paying that.....and it would be pointless letting him go for 300k

Might be wrong, but I thought he was involved in bringing Granite, Hindle and that winger whose name I've forgotten before Evatt came in?

You're right. The only other one that came in around the same time as the two you mentioned was Astley Mulholland. Rooney, Kay, Blyth and the like were Evatt's signings I think. The only other winger that was one of Ogden's prodigies was Bradley Bauress but I'm sure he came in when Cox was here.

Ampadu played for Exeter at 15, 17 for Chelsea........Randall is 21 and streets behind Ampadu
Massive Randall and Ampadu expert here. How many times have you seen Randall, or even Ampadu, play?

Regardless of that you said that they won't get 1M for a player that has played 15 times, you made it sound like that's a general rule. I was merely pointing out you're wrong on that.

Works for me, he's contributed nothing since he arrived. Flatters to deceive by running about but I've never quite been sure what he's supposed to be offering. Rarely gets in the team and we have plenty of options in those areas of the pitch so it makes sense to get him out.

We had Gambin at Crawley. It seemed to me that every time he started playing he would get injured or get a call up from the Maltese national side and be out for a few games and have to start over again.

I think he has the ability to play league football but I don't think his managers trust him or feel they can rely on him.

Time for Newport’s annual tumble down the table, I reckon. Complete over-reliance on loan players in the first half of the season.

Ampadu was a special case for sure. At 15 he looked way above everyone on the pitch and you could tell he would play in the premier league. One of his first touches on his debut was to control the ball his chest from a goal kick and then ping a cross-field pass straight to our winger. Most would have just headed the goal kick straight up the pitch!

Randall has bags of talent and has a real swagger to his game. I can see why clubs are in for him already as he’s got the potential to play much higher. I think he’s only got 18 months left on his contract so we may be tempted to sell in the summer if the right offer came along.

If his Wiki is correct, Ampadu has played more times for Wales than he has Exeter, Chelsea and Sheff Utd combined. Madness!

They were very poor on Tuesday night - which sums up just how much our form has fallen off a cliff as well.
