And we'll be under that.
Evatt may have fancied one or two who you are after discarding, but seeing as we are not allowed to sign any Barrow players for two years we wont be getting any of your dross

We've signed Jökull Andrésson for a week, Halstead must be injured and Turner has been binned off. Presume the loan will get increased at some point, I seem to remember Exeter waxing lyrical about him earlier in the season?
Very good ‘keeper you have there, wish we’d have been able to keep him. Looks like he will play against us on Tuesday!

We’ve sold young defender and first team regular Harry Darling to MK Dons for an undisclosed fee. Not disastrous and the club clearly feel it’s a decent deal but we are now short of cover at centre back.

I like Darling, very good player, only going to get better, we'd have got a lot more for him if we could have held him for another 18 months, but if we were going to lose a first teamer this window, centre back is the one where we have the best ready-made replacement, and Cundy when he's played has been as good as Darling. Get someone in to fill the spot on the bench and it shouldn't affect us.

Should have made him captain. Then you'd have had Captain Darling.

A huge opportunity missed. And now you've sold him.

Darling is overrated in my opinion so no major loss as I rated Cundy over him. We just need to go into the market and sign cover at center back.

great move for him but he could be back in league two next season as we wave at him heading to league one.

If we are discarding them I'm sure we can sort an agreement where you can quite happily have them.

Dont mind taking Barrow lads born in the town like Thomason.....Even take ex players like Rooney this summer, but i cannot think of one barrow player that would improve us

i think every member of Barrow's defence including the goalkeeper would improve Bolton.....

After signing Danny Lowe from Oldham, we are also targeting Conor McAleny from the Latics. We had a bid turned down this week, hopefully we go back in for an improved bid and bring him over the Pennines too

i am not saying our defence is adequate, but that mainly is down to Evatt and his system. Now that we have gone back to a flat back 4 i cannot see anymore freak results like Port vale,Orient and being three behind at Barrow and Carlisle before half time.
Our goalkeeping position baffles me as does his insistence at playing Jones every game at rightback
Santos and Delaney are decent but they are lge2 defenders and are prone to errors.
Left back we have been dreadful but we seem to have addressed that in the transfer window bringing another two in.

God, teams baffle me in this league. I would say apart from Salford teams should not be paying fees for players
I could maybe understand it if Bradford stood in the top 7 or bottom three and had something to play for.
Wait until the summer and they could pick better players up for nothing.
Wyke,Doyle and Vaughan are better than what they are targeting just a thought

Just like Bolton, we are in a relegation battle, so I would argue that we have indeed something to play for, namely our football league membership. So if paying fees for Niall Canavan and Danny Rowe this window so far, and enquiring about Conor McAleny enhances our survival, then I am all for it.

if you think you are in a relegation battle i cannot fault paying fees
Keeping your league status is paramount.......Bolton wont/cannot pay fees but we will sign players in this transfer window that will end the season above Bradfert

Generally I agree that paying fees for players at this level is stupid.
That being said if the player has huge potential and could be sold for a lot more a few years down the line then it's justifiable.
I dont think players like Danny Lowe fall into that category though. He's decent enough but L2 is "his level", there's no further potential there to develop, so you wont see that money back.

Danny Rowe has been round the block a few times and had the chance to go to an EFL club long before he did. IF he had done maybe he would have gone higher than L2 - but this is probably as high as he will go now

The fee + wages combined for McAleny to Bradford will probably be cheaper than the package Bolton have shelled out for Eoin Doyle

I wouldn’t say we’ve spent a great deal this window. I reckon Canavan would have been a nominal fee of less c£30,000 and Rowe perhaps nearer £90k (if that)

McAleny however, would command a fee north of £150k. Unless Oldham find a replacement, they’re not going to entertain a figure like £150k.

We still don’t know the extent of Lee Novak’s injury, but it’s a certainty that at least another striker and winger are yet to come in.

What I don't get about this Oldham/Bradford dealings is what are Oldham doing.... They have 3 potentially tough games this week against Newport, Cheltenham and Salford where they could easily lose all 3. At the same time most of the other teams down near the bottom are playing each other. Oldham could easily be 2 or 3 points above the drop zone next Saturday night. It seams a very risky strategy, unless they've got some good players lined up.

Isn't Oldham's chairman even more bonkers than our previous joint owner Edin Rahic?.

:bl: that is a bold claim. Bradford look much better since sacking McCall and have shown some serious intent in this window.

We on the other hand haven’t won in 5 games and look like an average side at best.

I think the penny finally dropped with Evatt and he changed both the system and the players. These new signed players and those returning from injury will make us hard to beat for the rest of the season
