You have paid fees for 5/6 players this window
We have paid no fees on 8 players....Two 18 month contracts and 6 on loan
I know who have had the better window.........

Well done! Much like ourselves, you’ve had to act in the January window because of poor recruitment in the summer.

Except, you appear to have wallpapered over cracks, whereas we have strengthened with next season in mind. Looks like you’ll have another re-building job in the summer, once your loans go back.

Plus, I hadn’t realised that paying for players contributes to a poor transfer window.

Mr Firthy your as bad as Mr Cod

What was my post in reference to?

Jacob Mellis, we got that one really good season out of him, not sure he’s the right player for a relegation battle though.
We pinning all our hopes on the null and void of NL now

is it overcast there tonight......games not off yet is it
Only one of our 4 players signed will be in the squad tommorow,,,,plus Sarcevic is out for a month
Seems you are light upfront

Going 1-1

Very light, Bowery has been on fire, Reid works hard but is still unproven at this level and this new lad, that’s all we’ve got in the striker department, bit risky but Clough will probably play a academy lad if necessary at some point this season.

No striker. More midfielders. Useless c*** of a chairman.

You also said Madison or Chris Martin would not drop down to lge 2 at the time they were free agents
I dont know what we are paying Maddison but i doubt its a lot, more putting himself in the shop window to get a team in lge1 or the championship next season.

We messed up big time with our recruitment last summer. Not sure it was our DOF [potted in the Autumn]
Our recruitment since November is streets ahead of the summer. Kieran Lee is as good as anyone in this division
Signed a lad from Blackpool today on a 18 month contract who you was also in for.
Then we have signed 6 on loan.....nothing to lose with those
We also have a free agent who played last in the championship on trial
Evatt changed the system and we are getting stronger each window.....think we will now have a decent run in and build again in the summer with another 4/5 quality championship/lge 1 players

Last summers National league and div2 released players will not be repeated

Put our feet up today. According to David Holdsworth we turned away someone who was interested in one of our strikers (probably Bradford trying to buy back Omari Patrick) and were keen on a player from league one but it didn't happen.

So now the windows shut, our business was.

In:
Bailey Cargill (CB) MK Dons Free
Isaac Hutchinson (CM) Derby Loan
Josh Davison (ST) Charlton Loan

Out:
Liam Kitching (CB) Barnsley c£600k
Carl Winchester (CM) Sunderland und.
Josh March (ST) Harrogate Loan
Matty Stevens (ST) Stevenage Loan

Look a bit weaker overall, not sure we've got enough goals in our side and have lost 2 big players at the back and in midfield. Cargill has looked pretty solid so far, hopefully the two young lads can start to make an impact soon as well.

So I was right then, Maddison wouldn’t drop into League Two in the summer? I think Son of Cod has already highlighted that.

Kieron Lee is a decent signing, providing you can keep him fit. Please remember, he’s only made 45 appearances in 3 years.

Each to their own as to who you think has had the best window - I honestly couldn’t give a shite. I merely made the point of saying that Maddison and his representatives wanted him to come here over Bolton.

Let’s see where we are at season end.

In:

Reeco-Hackett Fairchild - W/FWD - Loan - Portsmouth
Nathan Ferguson - MID - Transfer - Crawley
Tyler Cordner - DEF - Loan - Bournemouth
Jacob Mellis - MID - Transfer - Gillingham

Extended White, McCormack, Olayinka.

Potentially adding Holmes, Ranger and Lynch...

Not sure what to make of it

kieran lee played in the championship 28 times last season.....he was injured the 18 months previous
Fair enough....not got a clue if Madison wanted to go to Bradford....i doubt we will keep him beyond may.
We both seem happy how the window gone....though we lost one of our better kids to Norwich

If you lot are still playing 3 at the back and trying to pass the ball out of defence, MJ Williams is a decent signing. Composed on the ball, decent in the air, but lacks pace.

All these clubs spending money during a pandemic, meanwhile frugal Mansfield off load Cook and Maynard.

Might start taking that fake moral high ground Grimsby fans thought they had for a little bit.

I’d like to be excluded on that one, I hated our approach in the summer, got slated and now look.

You can add that to the list of ‘things I got right’ filed in between ‘Hearn v Green’ and ‘Will we get promoted with Lenell John-Lewis (2015)’

I’d expect Maddison to be in the National League next season, if he’s even still in football. He certainly won’t be anywhere near L1 or the Championship.

I wonder if one day in the future he’ll regret wasting his career. Has the talent to be a top Championship player, such a shame.

League 2 transfer announcement template.

An hour or half an hour before:
Post humorous GIF

Tweet:
“We are delighted to announce that we have beaten off competition for the signing of highly rated ____ from ____”

Don’t forget to mention that he’s highly rated. People would hate to think you’d signed a lowly rated player.

Player then tweets:
“Happy to sign for ____. Can’t wait to get started (strong arm emoji)”

He'll blame it on everyone else - egomaniacs do that.

As for our window, I'm slightly underwhelmed to be honest. Would have been much better had we got Bowman in, but you take what you can get I suppose. The three loanees may well turn out to be excellent signings. Anyway, our window:

In:
Sam Smith - Reading - Loan
Indiana Vaillev - Aston Villa - Loan
Callum Wright - Leicester - Loan

Out:
Reuben Reid - Yeovil
Tahvon Campbell - Halifax - Loan

Not going to go overboard with the Maddison signing.....if he does well he will get offers elsewhere and for better money.
If he flops where does he go ??? Mansfield perhaps for one last pay day.
We are certainly a club in transit and we are laying solid foundations now for next season....the panic buying of unproven players has well and truly been kicked into touch

If my maths are right that leaves you with 36 players over 21. You will have to deregister 14........Please tell me this is wrong or you will be heading into obscurity in the not to distant future

We’ve signed Robbie Willmott from Newport on loan. Seem to remember him being one of their better players in recent seasons and we need another winger so pretty happy with this.

Need a striker now.
If you can get a tune out of him this is what he is capable of,

the first is against hereford in our conference promotion season
the second against middlesboro in an fa cup replay,

Unfortunately for us and him he is now a shaddow of that player, but good luck to him maybe a change of scenery is what he needs.

Yep, they never tell the truth, e.g. he's crap, no-one else wanted him, that's why he signed for us.

Maddison should be a serious problem at this level.
For Evatt. The only problems he's been causing in the last 3 years or so are ones for managers.

Will ping the odd long ranger in but he's got far too much baggage now, this'll be his last chance to remain in the FL IMO. His name will be filed with the likes of Gary Roberts, Liam Noble etc

Gary Roberts... what a waste... was an outstanding footballer and sadly if Micky Adams couldn’t tame him no one was going to be able to.

Walsall have signed Max Melbourne on loan for the rest of the season from us.

He sees himself as a CB, Appleton doesn't think he's good enough for CB yet and is best suited to LB but he's not really pulled up any trees since he signed 18 months ago (initially on loan, then made permanent last January). He plays like someone who doesn't want to be at LB and has been unconvincing.

Ultimately though, he's our 5th choice CB and with signing Cohen Bramall from Colchester last night, 4th choice LB. Not sure we'll see him in a Lincoln shirt again. Probably a victim of how well we've kicked on this season.

Tranmere Rovers have a squad of 31. 23 permanent of which 5 are under 21 and 5 loanees with 3 youth players also having squad numbers. 11 of the permanent signings qualify for the £68,000 limit. Not bad for a club that is overspending i would say.

He could have gone far with more ambition, professionalism and without the demons.

I haven't been following this exchange, but it seems like masi has tried to expose both you and I within a web of fake news and lies regarding quotes on Marcus Maddison but we both we know we're right. Move over, there's a new team in town. Son of Cod and F-I-R-T-H-Y. They don't always see eye to eye but by god they get results.
