If my maths are right that leaves you with 36 players over 21. You will have to deregister 14........Please tell me this is wrong or you will be heading into obscurity in the not to distant future
Our official site at present shows 33 players - one of them Dior Angus left yesterday so that's 32.
3 are out on loan;- Morgan Penfold, Courtney Baker Richardson and Bobby Burns (who is now out with a broken leg) - so that's 29.
Off the 29 several are or were under 21 on 1st January last year - so don't count against the 22 player limit;- Moloney, Wilson, Thomas, Sea - which leaves us with 25 - so only 3 to de-register not 14....

*Edit - make that 4 after the Mikael Ndjoli signing

Hull couldn't afford him. Or rather, their owners wouldn't pay for him. No chance Maddison will be in L2. Looks like Derby want him.
son of code......quote.........no chance Madison will be in L2

Overall our window hasn’t been too bad. Kept our best player which is always a good start and added Jake Taylor. Swan also seems to come with some good reports so will see how that plays out.

I do think we really need to look at the fact there is a lot of deadwood in this squad now which we need to shift such as the de-registered players and also Cullen and Whitehead. Thankfully in some cases such as Cullen and McKirdy their contracts end this summer but the others we really need to do all we can to help them find new homes as this will be a drain on us otherwise.

All these clubs spending money during a pandemic, meanwhile frugal Mansfield off load Cook and Maynard.

Might start taking that fake moral high ground Grimsby fans thought they had for a little bit.
Still got that moral high ground, and deservedly so. I would recommend exerting it yourself too, yes.
I’d like to be excluded on that one, I hated our approach in the summer, got slated and now look.

You can add that to the list of ‘things I got right’ filed in between ‘Hearn v Green’ and ‘Will we get promoted with Lenell John-Lewis (2015)’
Still stand by the approach in the summer, despite what's happened. We planned for the eventuality that the season might not finish, the only reason it's been a disaster is because the season has limped on and survived. We'd be kings of COVID if the season had ended. Clubs gambled on knowing what was going to happen, whereas we planned for every eventuality (aside from being really shite at football).

Wonder if McGreal comes in would he want Robinson with him being at Colchester with him?

Keeping Conlon was massive, at the moment he’s one of the best in the division and has been head and shoulders above in recent weeks. Really pleasing as he wasn’t really getting much of a look in last season but seems to have really upped it the past few months.

More likely to want Robinson than Guthrie, I would suspect.

My only problem this window is we are lacking a extra body upfront, especially somebody to play down the middle, but it’s likely we will neither be promoted nor relegated, and Cook and Maynard were big earners who never started so that makes sense, but if Bowery or Reid get injured we will be instantly short and I’m still not convinced the latter is good enough.

Getting Lapslie signed up and Quinn to play in front of the back four really makes our central midfield options seem complete, so no complaints in that regard.

No denying we didn’t get our first targets other than Quinn though, I expect we will go for Akins and Brayford again.

Pretty pleased that we actually strengthened our squad in January. Only slightly but nevertheless we have more depth now than we did.

Out
Gavin Reilly - Livingston - free
Max Hunt - Yeovil - free
Micah Obiero - end of loan
Marcus Dewhurst - end of loan
Connor Malley - end of loan

In
Offrande Zanzala - Crewe - free
Cedwyn Scott - Hebburn - free
Morgan Feeney - Sunderland - free

Add to that loans for Ethan Walker and Joshua Kayode renewed and a contract extension for Rhys Bennett, with Dickenson back from injury like a new signing and Tanner nearing a return, we've got just about everything we could want for the second half of the season aside from actual fixtures.

Sure it will be fine. Clough will get time from fans and board knowing what he did with Burton and how the results have been so far. For once we might be able to actually build and wait for the right players barring anything catastrophic.

Happy enough with our business, perhaps could have done with another midfielder and a proven goalscorer, but can't always get that. Possibly top late in the window for us to avoid relegation, could of done with it at the beginning of Jan, but there is always a little bit of hope!

We've still got one more to come - think it's some kid from Burnley, but may be wrong.

In:
Dan Kemp - AM (Shammers - Free)
Nick Freeman - MID (Wycombe - Loan)
Tristan Abrahams - STR (Newport - Loan)
Adam Thompson - CB (Rotherham - Free)

Out:
Josh Wright - MID (Crawley - Free)
Jordan Maguire-Drew AM (Crawley - Loan)

Bit disappointed. Thought we might have cleared out more of the deadwood tbh. Freeman is nowhere near fit and Kemp is shite. Happy enough with Thompson and TA coming home was exactly the sort of player we needed. At least we didn’t lose our best players, though they’re all out of contract come the end of the season.

Josh Doherty leaves Crawley and joins Colchester on loan.

Left back. Was in the side all of last season and the beginning of this until he was injured. Generally well thought off by the fans on the forum. I think he works hard and never gives less than his best.

29 senior players but that includes Sam Russell who is our GK coach, 5 loan players, 3 strikers who are playing for peanuts we signed from various non-league divsions, 2 new (as of this season) academy graduates and 4 players that have only signed deals until the end of the season.

The best window we’ve had in years, an essential clear out of the deadwood and replaced with both solid experience and exciting younger players. We’re far stronger going into the second half of the season and there’s a real buzz at the minute, unthinkable just a few weeks ago under McCall.

In:
1. Will Huffer (BPA, free)
2. Jordan Stevens (Leeds, loan)
3. Niall Canavan (Plymouth, undis.)
4. Rumarn Burrell (Middlesbrough, loan)
5. Matty Foulds (Como, free)
6. Danny Rowe (Oldham, undis.)
7. Andy Cook (Mansfield, loan)
8. Charles Vernam (Burton, undis.)
9. Ollie Crankshaw (Wigan, undis.)

Outs:
1. Dylan Mottley-Henry (Larne, free)
2. Kurtis Guthrie (Port Vale, free)
3. Jackson Longridge (Livingston, free)
4. Ben Richards-Everton (Barnet, free)
5. Tyler French (Wrexham, free)
6. Austin Samuels (Wolves, cancelled loan)

Not that anyone cares but ins and outs at Crawley.

In
Davide Rodari (undisclosed from non league so not much)
Josh Wright (free from Orient)
Jordan Maguire-Drew (loan from Orient)
James Tilley (free from Grimsby)
Stuart Nelson (free...short term contract extended)

Out

Max Watters (undisclosed...take your pick on the fee. To Cardiff)
Nathan Ferguson (undisclosed to Southend)
Josh Doherty (loan to Colchester)
Tom McGill (loan terminated, back to Brighton)

Did hear we expected another to leave yesterday (Yems interview regarding Orient game tonight).

I still think we are lightweight in central midfield but I'm aware others think this is the best midfield we've had since we were relegated to league 2 and seeing we had Rodari on the bench for the Cambridge game I think Yems doesn't rate our back up strikers of German and Ashford so we look light up top.

Didn't realise you'd signed Tilley. I thought he probably had the most potential out of all the crap we released, but seemed to get slammed by most Town fans. Will be keeping an eye on that one.

All on £175 per month too, I'm guessing?
