And for ten points name the ground which is on a road named after the inventor of the Enigma Machine ???
You lot needing a new sponsor again?

Call it after a legendary Bolton player. Warwick Rimmer, perhaps...

We lost two center backs in the space of three days. Darling and Cundy were fighting for the same position and with numerous rejected bids from MK Dons we finally agreed a deal with them for Darling.

Bristol City weren't pleased with Cundy sitting out and Gillingham wanted him so recalled him and loaned straight to them.

Okedina made his debut on Saturday, as did Tracey and both performed very well. Shrewsbury fans weren't too pleased Tracey was recalled by Spurs to be sent straight to us. He is in the David Amoo mold. Bags of pace and direct which is something we've lacked. Aji Alese is a signing I think could be the best of the lot as he's very highly regarded at West Ham and was having a very good loan at Accrington before the season was halted. Overall pleased with how the window went considering we got good money for Darling and a sell on.

Out
Harry Darling (undisclosed and sell on fee MK Dons)
Robbie Cundy - (Return or loan to Bristol City)
Andy Dallas - (Loan to Weymouth)

In
Shillow Tracey (Loan from Spurs)
Jubril Okedina (Loan from Spurs)
Aji Alese (Loan from West Ham)
Duncan Drysdale (Loan from Coventry)

Jonny Owen - any thoughts on Adebayo who we signed from you yesterday? Looks a big lad and scoring record seems ok if not knock your socks off - but we wouldn’t have been able to afford him if it was!

Had kind of hoped we could have given Danny Hylton in the deal as he needs to drop down again.

Lynch has come to his senses and is training with Bolton now, rather than us

Could of sent him to the Wirral where he could of smelt the raw sewage as it made its way down the mersey
Wondered at amazement of the cars on bricks
Wondered why all the woman are orange and nobody worked.
Nowhere to park his Winnebago.

Is Josh Doherty any good? With Cohen Bramall moving to Lincoln last night we were always going to need some cover. Ryan Clampin has looked assured enough when he has played so I'm sure he'll get plenty of opportunity now but, otherwise, we just have a 17-year-old as backup. Not sure yet if Doherty is coming in to play until the end of the season or just provide cover for Clampin to be honest.
Doherty was our starting left back for all of the last two seasons and the start of this. He got an injury at the beginning of December (around there but don't quote as the gospel) and has only just come back into contention. In the meantime we played a left footed centre back there (Dalison) who has looked very secure and when we have played with wing backs Tsaroulla (of Leeds fame) has looked very promising.

Doherty is well thought of by the majority of the fans and I feel he always gives 100%.

Failed at this. Where is there a Scherbius Road then?

Ours was a bit underwhelming but could have been worse.

Outs:
Lewis Ward (GK) - Portsmouth on loan
Nicky Law (CM) - Indiana Soccer - free

Ins:
Jokkull Andresson (GK) - Reading on loan
Sam Stubbs (CB) - Fleetwood - free
Robbie Willmott (RWB/RW) - Newport on loan.

Andresson is a like for like for Ward, so all good. Stubbs looks really promising but is a month away from fitness. Sounds like we’ve given him a good deal and he’s an investment for sure.

Law going was a shock. Not played as much this season but is still very good. Luckily we have Matt Jay who has been excellent and kept him out of the side.
Willmott will hopefully do well, but that’s a low risk move, either way.

Apparently we were trying for a striker but it didn’t happen for whatever reason. Bowman was strongly linked with a move away to either Burton or Cheltenham, so I am happy that didn’t happen. We also managed to keep Joel Randall and Randall Williams which is good news.

It’s a shame we couldn’t move on either Fisher or Ajose as both aren’t getting a look in and they will be released in the summer for sure. Feel for Ajose, he’s done ok when he’s played but Taylor has just refused to play him this season. He’s been an expensive gamble that hasn’t paid off.

Turing didn't invent the enigma machine. Arthur Scherbius a German engineer has the patents for that.

Turing improved the maths the Poles had done (bombe) and that allowed the British to crack the enigma codes which helped us win the war but didn't help Coventry much.

Moomin; why have you let Nicky Law go. One of the best midfielders in league 2 imho.

He had a fantastic offer from the states, which he couldn’t turn down and we rarely stand in players’ way. Think he was out of contact in the summer but it’s a shame we couldn’t have persuaded him to stay.

However, as I mentioned above, he’s been in and out this season anyway so not as much as a loss as previous seasons, but still sad to see him go nonetheless.

I would have more than taken Hylton!!

Adebayo is rough diamond. Started off looking like a donkey when we first signed him at the start of last season, was missing from 3 yards out and would be lost in games. But after Christmas last year something clicked and he was fantastic for the whole calendar year of 2020 and he has started off this year just as good. He is a big lad but doesn't play like one for the most part, has lovely feet, can take a player on but he also had really developed his game in terms of his hold-up play and his ability to roll defenders - which is among the best I have seen. He is fairly quick for his size too. Really rough gem that needed a kick up the backside a few times by DC but he is a cracking lad and a very exciting player - you will really like him. I wish him well, always gave everything and deserves the step up. Think he will find it tough at Championship level but give him a season and he could be a real goal threat at that level.

Well we will be playing him entirely as a left back as we lost our own left back that prefers to play CB in Zak Jules to MK yesterday. It's also been said that all of our loan signings are players that we have one eye on keeping come the end of the season, so I imagine if he does well he will be back on a permanent. Local lad too as he came up through the Tesco Bagladies.

Think he will be good enough to be a playoff challenging league 2 fullback?
He's not a bad LB by any stretch, but I don't think anyone's seen enough of him consistently to say or not tbh. Performed ok when called upon in the cup games against lower ranked sides so should be fine.

In a strange twist we have now re registered Theo Robinson and relisted keeper Dino Visser who is injured for a long period.

Makes sense really. Theo is contracted for next year and likely not cheap wages so may as well and try get something out of him if we can.

If wanted to put 2 plus 2 together who knows could point to McGreal as manager?

Did think that to be honest!

Just hope he fancies it after we booted him out!

Interviewed before the Orient game our dof said we may be getting some more youngsters in.

One may be Joel Olgivie who has been training with first team recently but they will all be young lads trying to break into football.

Big problem for clubs at our level now is having no lower league football to give the younger players some experience against older players. We normally send ours to Marine, Warrington Town or Cammell Laird FC or others below the NLN.

Why don't the EFL allow 9 subs given you can make 5 changes?

You could always fill gaps on the bench with youngsters when, like yesterday, we didn't have anyone else left other then the 18 involved.

3 ex Rovers players at Warrington have gone to Flint Town in the Welsh League. There might have been an option for loaning players in that way. Those like Jake Burton who’ve got potential but never going to see much first team action this season.

He has been okay. Seems to have lost a yard of pace since I saw him playing for you lot, but he is still quick which I was worried about before we signed him due to that lengthy injury that he had. He has been unfortunate in that our other RB Cameron Norman has really stepped his game up this season and has been among our better players, but when called upon he has been mostly steady. If he is only on a one year deal however I can see him possibly being released. Still can do it at this level clearly and he may improve too as the season goes on, and he is in the starting eleven now due to Normans injury and then us winning a couple since then.
