Ryan Johnson now confirmed, assuming that like is from his U21 days with Crosby there.

So he left a good impression then is what we're saying...?

Never seen him play though apparently Shrews fans didn't mind him from comments have seen about, all comes down to what they're asked to do etc I guess. There is one theme throughout all our signings so far and that is they are all over 6ft. Add in Dan Jones long throw and Worrall/Conlon on set pieces it seems we are going to try and Pulisball our way through the season.
You are trust me lol.

Worst kept secret going Ryan Johnson leaves us after accepting a contract elsewhere (Port Vale) we offered him a deal but couldn't match them.
Can you imagine how down you lot would be feeling now had you lost that play off final after that keepers equaliser and then be having all these players bugger off?
At least now your in League 2 you should be able to attract decent replacements though.

If you keep the squad you come up with, you generally struggle anyway. Might as well have a total rebuild.

We've got 8 players contracted, one is being flogged to Leicester, one transfer listed, 6 others have been offered new deals although I fear one or two will turn them down and 2 others are in still in talks with the club, we're still gonna need a healthy incoming of players, anywhere between 10-15 and about 5 weeks to do it in.

Rory McArdle is next player set to leave us this week. Apparently he wants to move back up North and has a club lined up. He may stay in L2 so could be on his way to one of you lucky northern teams. Can’t say I’m too gutted. He’s slow and at 34 will get even slower.

That said, he did have some solid games for us and he also had his ball bag split open while blocking a tackle vs Stevenage, so he certainly put his body on the line!

Jones was a decent player considering his age when he played for us.
Was bizarrely made the scapegoat in a 5-0 drubbing at Plymouth, when more seasoned professionals couldn’t be arsed in the game.

I reckon that might’ve stung a bit.

Looks like we’re set to sign 3 players early this week:

George Ray ex Tranmere and Crewe. He’ll be a direct replacement for McArdle. I hear he’s had a tough time at Prenton Park, but hopefully he will be solid enough.

Callum Rowe a 21 year old left back just released by Aston Villa. According to our local paper he will be back up to a more senior left back who’s yet to sign.

Archie Mair a young ‘keeper on loan from Norwich. Spent last season on loan at Kings Lynn. Firstly, his surname writes its own headline and secondly I am hoping he’s as good as Jokull Andresson was for us last season while on loan.

Strong rumours that we're signing Macauley Southam Hales and Richie Bennett both from Stockport. Happy with that if it comes off, Trev Carson also apparently in talks.

Probably means Sterry is going.

Surprised at Southam Hales.I would have thought he’d be on a two year deal at Stockport .

Southam Hales would command a fee and I'd be surprised if we paid any transfer fees. Apparently Goffy said on Radio Tees last night them two signings are close.

I heard Goffy talk about MSH, I'm still not convinced it'll happen, excellent player like, Bennett would be a good replacement for Armstrong, hopefully see some player movement this week.

Richie Bennett was a good player for us in the National League, then his agent touted him to EFL clubs and Carlisle spent £50K buying him and ruined him... Don't listen to Carlisle, Vale and Morecambe fans - he's a good player when you play him in a front 2 and play to his strengths.

Doesn’t that really show he’s just not been up to L2 level each time he’s played there? He wasn’t the worst player ever seen at Vale and in fact did ok at first (a home game against FGR springs to mind) but if ever there was a player who didn’t play to his size it was him. Never saw him win a header.

We had Bennett briefly last season and he got 5 goals in 4 albeit the league below, despite him being tall he's not a target man, play to his strengths, the lad is much better with the ball at his feet, running at defenders and bringing others into play, I'd be really happy if we signed him.

I liked Bennett myself, rifle of a left foot and was better than what we had last season.

Weird elbow though.

Emmanuel Dieseruvwe. Can’t say I know much about him but a 6ft5 striker who I’d imagine is coming in as a backup.

We're about to sign striker Aaron Drinan from Ipswich - This looks a terrible signing on paper, for a striker at 23 his goal record in England is shocking!

Started worrying about our attacking options after we missed out on Hawkins. Full-blown concern now. If Dan Kemp doesn’t come up with goals or assists, who will…?

Twitter idiots are throwing themselves facedown on the ground because we aren't competing with Manchester City again but you get what you can and work with it down here.

These so called fans need to start living in the real world. These are probably the same idiots who were jumping up and down last season because we didn`t get the Cowleys, Paul Cook or Nigel Adkins in as manager. There`s nothing they like better than writing players off before they even tie their boots up. We must hold the record for having the biggest percentage of total knobheads in the fanbase. After Notlob of course. Muppets !!!

The Paddock forum and TRFC twitter could be used as case studies.

Mind you, the way The Paddock forum jumps around its easy to understand why some of them are swivel eyed lunatics as its almost impossible to read at times.
