But how is Spiegel at a premier league club? That's the real mystery of it all.
True, a player who can't kick the ball more than 30 feet is hardly an Allardyce kind of player.

To be honest, Premier League academies are full of shite players, mostly because they'll just sign anyone, the money involved is so tiny for them and there's a chance some of them will turn out to be the next Fabregas.

But this guy isn't a youngster in the academy, he's 22 years old. How has he blagged it?

Lee's loan has been extended to the end of the season, so that's some good news. He has looked dangerous when I've seen him and he seemed to work fairly well with Benson last night.

For my money he is a better player than Cullen too.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
It could be that he's actually awesome but was given firm instructions to be shit.

It may have been nerves.

sometimes some players just don't adapt quickly from the nothing reserve games to proper matches.

Jordan Hugill's loan spell at Tranmere has ended and now he's gone straight back out on loan to their relegation rivals Hartlepool.

He was pretty poor to be honest. Worked hard in his first couple of games, then coasted through the rest. He's slow and immobile, but did seem to have a decent first touch. His finishing was woeful though.
On a side note, we have replaced him with George Green from Everton - seems to be rated pretty highly but aren't all these loanees?

Just back from a big operation, he's been out since September. He's looked good in his few appearances for us.

The inevitable Luton clear-out has begun. Luke Rooney released by mutual consent, and Ross Lafayette farmed out on loan to Welling until the end of the season - I imagine he'll be gone in the summer permanently too. Neither good enough for League Two.

A fair few more to go between now and August I imagine, we need to prioritise a couple of real quality players over the ridiculous quantity we went for this season.

David Atkinson signs from Middlesborough on loan, can play anywhere in defence.

Apparently played for Pools earlier this season?

Two lads from Liverpool , Jack Dunn a striker and Kevin Stewart a defender.
Jack Dunn is apparently very well thought of.
I'm sure JFH will get the best out of him

Jeffrey Monakana signs from Brighton.

Thank the Lord we finally have a winger, I seem to remember him being quite good. Happy with that.

Two decent signings i'd say, even if Atkinson is likely to be used as cover. Monakana tore us a new one once when we played Preston so hopefully he can replicate that for us, he's the type of player who can win us points in our tougher games if he shows up.

Josh O' Hanlon on loan from Bouremouth until the end of the season. And Shaun Miller on loan from Coventry.

It's the Wilcox way: if in doubt, sign more strikers.

Monakana was good at Preston. Scored against us at Brunton park if I remember rightly. His career hasn't taken off since, I don't think he set the world alight at Mansfield this season.

A fair few need to go, squads much too large and full of average players.

We need to do much better in the transfer market this summer than we did last, it's been the elephant in the room to an extent this season that tbe players Still brought in in the summer where very poor mostly dev squad players who didn't improve the team. The clubs ambition has greatly outstripped our ability to wait for these players to get up to level, If indeed they ever will.

Will be interested to see how O'Hanlon does, unproven at league level. Impressed at Poole Town on loan before a bad injury, if that's any help..Surprised he's got a loan at this level.

Interesting that these two were both at Cheltenham earlier in the season, how did they do for you Robins ?

I'm struggling to think of many worse Luton strikers than Ross Lafayette in our history.

Another one bites the dust - Jake Howells picked up a knock on Tuesday night meaning that chances are, we've signed a left back today.

Luton have signed Lewis Kinsella from Aston Villa on loan for the rest of the season. He's been in their matchday squad for their last 3 Premier League games.

We've re-signed Jack Jebb on loan from Arsenal. He was with us earlier this season, made a handful of appearances and returned to Arsenal earlier than expected with an injury.

Did little to impress during his first spell, although he didn't really have too many opportunities in fairness. Unless we've picked up an injury or two I can't envisage him getting into the starting line-up ahead of Parrett, Keane or even Walton.

Good signing that.

We have singed Jimmy Philips from you guys? Any good?
Jimmy Phillips, has great skills and ability but in 5 seasons has never been able to put it together consistently and is very injury prone, a very likeable lad and I really hope he gets it together for you.
