It’s a loan marra.

When we signed Hewitt quite a few Grimsby fans were suggesting it was definitely to make sure we can put the galacticos of Rollin and Hewitt together, which at the time I said was ridiculous, Clough don’t rate him, and also the fact that standards at Grimsby were low that season, so they weren’t up to much anyway.
Marra? Surely they don't say that all the way down in Mansfield.

They do in a village a few miles outside Mansfield.
Was there an influx of Cumbrians there at some point? I've never heard that word used outside of Cumbria before. It's one of the most quintessentially Cumbrian terms, to the point the Whitehaven RL team are nicknamed the Marras.

I recall someone whose family was originally from Carlisle mentioning that a large number of miners moved south and settled in the midlands at some point.

I've been trying to Google it and have found this:

"During the 20th century cheap [iron?] ore from the East Midlands and imported ore from Spain took an increasing share of the UK market and the coal strike of 1921, which closed the railways, triggered the closure of most of the mines north of Egremont. But it had only been a matter of time, as reserves were dwindling and costs were high. In the 1930s unemployment in the West Cumbrian iron mining area reached 60 per cent."

Cracking signing if you can keep him playing regularly

Bloody hell!
I hope he’s not fully fit and is lacking a bit of sharpness and needs a bit more training before he gets going
Haha. Late announcement so not sure if he will even be available tomorrow.

Did you manage to bring anyone in this week in the end?

What do you think?

Beside Carlisle United in the dictionary there are two words. Failure and disappointment.

Tough paper rounds if he’s 27 though. I would have said the same if he was 37. But good player.

It’s uncommon but I’ve heard it around Nottinghamshire now and again!

I said Swindon were going under the radar a few weeks ago, you can argue now they’ve one of if not the best midfield in the league,

Yeah. Anthony Grant, Jack Payne, Ben Gladwin, Jonny Williams (assume he will play wide), Louis Reed, Jordan Lyden (though injured a lot) Ryan East as well but dont know a great deal about him.

Imagine all focus will go on bringing in the elusive goal scorer every team craves now.

Also linked to Anthony Gordon from Everton. 14 PL games and been loaned to PNE. I’m wondering why these latest couple of players are dropping down to the basement level.

Blim£y h£’d b£ a gr£at signing. He’s not looked out of place the in the prem so would dance a merry dance around League 2 cloggers. If it’s not paper talk of course.

My wife’s ancestors (great granddad) moved from Ulveston to Mansfield Woodhouse at turn of 20th Century to work in the newly opened coal mines around Mansfield.

No chance. He's their big hope - he'd go to a Championship side if anyone at all.

EDIT: I've just looked, and some muppet has uploaded Anthony Gordon number 42 to your website instead of Anthony Grant.

Apparently it's also on the Premier league app (whatever that is) but yes it doesn't sound very likely.

They'll just pull through the data from the same place. Very unlikely you'd have two players with the same squad number and similar names, I'd say...

Podge was spot on when with us, until the club started to nose dive due to the pricks running it.
At the same time his form nosedived.

I think we also have a youth player with the surname Gordon so it does indeed sound like someone has made a boo boo somewhere.
