He turned down SPL clubs to sign for you and Flitcroft was probably a factor

Sounds like it should be mutually beneficial for Bolton and Vale. Should let him build up his fitness etc playing games and I think you have a recall clause in January if you wanted to.

For us DC has said one of the things he looks at with loan players is they are close to the end of their contract in case we might want them permanently. Also means all those clubs who focus on stopping Worrall and Conlon now have another one to look at.

He is out of contract next summer by the looks of it. Unsure if we have an option to extend or not. I think a lot of Bolton fans would be fuming if we let him go especially if proves his fitness as he’s a home grown academy player.

To solve our forward problems, we've brought in Aston Villa's Brad Young in on loan.

He will hopefully turn out to be good, but it sort of shows where we're at that we're pinning our hopes on an 18y old loanee.

I sure hope that he's in our long term plans, he's the most technically gifted and exciting prospect to come through our academy since Clough did under Lennon. Enjoy him, he's the type of player who will get you off your seat as soon as picks the ball up. Hopefully it is just for fitness but with him officially going to play off his last 12 months of his contract it wouldn't surprise me if he moves on permanently at the end of the season which would be lunacy as he's still only 21.

You'd hold the cards at least as would be able to command a fee due to his age.

We’ve sold young striker Caleb Chukwuemeka to Villa for £300k, potentially rising to over a million with add ons. A decent sum considering his scholarship contract ends in February and he goes to villa to join his brother Carney who villa also nicked off us.

Crawley sign striker Kwesi Appiah. 1 year deal with an option.
His name rings a bell but I can't place him.
Ex Womble, Cambridge and lately, North East Utd in India.

We had him on loan years ago - 2013/14 and 2014/15. He was far too good for the conference and, to be honest, League 2…. Some of the goals he scored were ridiculous. He’s had a ton of injuries since sadly and I don’t think he’s the same player anymore. I hope I’m proven wrong.

According to our local paper this morning we’ve offered him a new deal as he’s gone out on loan. So looks like we definitely want to keep him. One of our other highly rated younger players is off to the Norwegian second division for games which is a bit bizarre!

We’ve confirmed the signing of Tyrese Omotoye on a season long loan from Norwich.

He’s been on trial with us for a few weeks and scored in 2 of our friendlies. He looked useful I thought in the games he played.

He will compete with Aaron Drinan and Harry Smith for the strikers spots.

Looks like quite a lot of teams are after strikers at the moment. We are looking to bring in 2. Few rumours we are sniffing around Norwood at Ipswich, he's been told he can leave the club. And Jaydon Mitchell-Lawson who we had as a youth player, signed for Derby and released last season. Big rumours that he's already signed.

Makes sense, Garner signed Mitchell-Lawson twice on loan for us

Yeah I liked him, looked tricky and scored a couple of goals in his first loan spell. His 2nd loan spell was cut short a month after Garner was sacked.
Should do well in L2

Cheers, would he be a main striker or best deployed as a winger?

Signed alex fisher on a 1 year deal, information is a bit sketchy not sure if its a loan or not.
Great catch for you that.

Edit: Wish I’d read through the rest of the thread before posting this as I’d have realised all the fishing puns have already been done. :bg:

We’ve loaned our backup keeper Sam Sargeant to Barnet for 2 months. At 23 he needs games and with his contract up at the end of the season, he’ll be getting a bit expensive to be a backup keeper.

Looms like the club want to push our 19 year old first year pro Rhys Byrne who has impressed and quite highly rated - expecting him to play in the Papa Johns Trophy games coming up.

Swindon fans we have just signed Jordan Garrick on loan who I believe you had on loan last season. What do you think of him?

Tough to judge in last seasons shit show but I liked Garrick. Has pace to burn but I don't think the Sherydactyl knew where to play him. He's probably a winger but we also played him at wing back and he did OK. Loves the old hit it down one side of the defender and run around the other side trick which he is fast enough to get away with. Be interesting to see how he does under a manger that has more than an iota of a clue.

In his first game he looked like he’d never seen a football before. Soon grew into a very decent winger type that popped in a couple of goals.

Would have liked him back. I wouldn’t base any player’s ability on playing for us last season. Sheridactyl’s brief was to make us as useless as possible. Mission accomplished.

I quite liked him. Could be an asset in a better team.

Jayden Mitchell-Lawson has signed for Swindon. Winger.

Surely only need a striker or two now.

Cheers guys. Lowe has indicated that he may be used as a utility player like Byron Moore was. So I would guess challenge Edwards at right wing back and possibly up front. We only have two fit senior strikers, and Jephcott went off injured on Tuesday.

Jamille Matt has signed a 2 year extension, obviously a big player for us as well as club captain so very good news I would say.

Good luck to JML.

Weird player, started awful and didn't really do anything, then suddenly became very good and the season was called off. Then we got him back on loan and he was awful and then couldn't get into the team and was sent back.

Great attitude and definitely potential in there, but also lots of potential for a winger who can just run around a lot and not really do anything? I'd back him to be a success in L2 though tbf, although he is weak and would need to work on that.
