Is everyone expecting a busy day tomorrow for their clubs?

It's no secret that we are chasing a striker, it would seem Derek Adams has identified his first choice, but waiting for the players current club to bring in their target. I expect this to go to the wire. The only rumour we have had is Omar Bogle from Doncaster, Adams did deny he was a target last week though, bluffing perhaps?

Our young central midfield player Elliot Watt is the likeliest to depart if reports that a couple of Championship clubs are eyeing him up are correct. If sold that would leave Adams with a last minute hunt for at least one midfield player, although he has openly stated that he wanted to strengthen midfield even without Watt leaving, but his hands were tied financially as a striker was priority as we only have Cook and Lavery as fit options. Angol likely to be out for months.

Strap yourselves in everyone for another hectic deadline day tomorrow
Adams always wants a target man for his preferred system. Do you have one currently, if not Bogle would fit the bill. What about John Akinde, he appears to be slipping down the pecking order at Gills?

Gibson was like Patrick very raw and poor, but Carlisle got a tune out of Patrick so he’ll probably be in league 1 next season.
Stevens looked shit as well don’t remember him even making a dangerous pass when he was here.

Underwhelmed by that I have to say and doesn’t look the type that’s going to unseat big names like James Wilson or challenge Rodney or Proctor. Have to see but seems like we missed out on a couple and have just taken a body.
He's a decent player and will run his socks off but don't expect a lot of goals. Mind you, nobody scores many for us so maybe he'll thrive in a different team/system

Jordan Stevens (Leeds) joining Barrow, was poor here last season for us having been warned by Swindon fans, Bryce Hossanah another former loanee going to Wrexham, would’ve had him back here.

Hosannah was very poor defensively in my opinion. He was much better when overlapping and attacking.

Stevens was just anonymous in every fleeting appearance he managed with us

Tom Nichols to Sunderland raising its head again.

No insider knowledge but its probably because in an interview he described how his family moved from there before he was born and he grew up supporting them.

Got to be honest I’m not understanding the thinking in signing the lad from Cheltenham. Realistically I don’t think he is going to be starting many games for us as he’ll be the fifth choice I’d have thought given DC views Amoo more as a forward than a winger now.

We now have 3 players on loan Politic cass and Lloyd none of which will play much. Teams will become pissed off with us loaning players and just having them as unused subs.

Not to mention the money we got from Leeds for McCarron and Galloway... with McCarron close to appearing in the Premier League you imagine there may be add-ons for that... then there's the sell-on fee for Sam Cosgrove, all in all we must have raked in over a million in transfer fees in the last two years so why have we still got a 'bottom six' budget?

Even though we've made some decent signings under Beech it's clear we are still not competing financially with anyone else in this division. We sign players who have been rejected elsewhere but who Beech can see are undervalued but if they do well then they leave describing our contract offers as derisory. Are EWM's successors calling in the debt or something? It's a mystery.

Be surprised if we've still got Guy and Armer by the time the transfer window closes.
Maybe I’m too much of a hopeless optimist, but I don’t think we’ll lose Armer this window.

Politic surely will when fit, Cass looked superb last week but was dropped be a good battle for him and Gibbons now though.

That is probably our squad done now, maybe a defender on loan until Xmas to cover Legge but looks complete.

The main interest tomorrow will be if we can sack of Theo Robinson and save wages, he is currently training with the youth team away from the first teamers.

Also Scott Burgess (feel slightly bad for) and Danny Whitehead in the same situation as Robinson.

Fancy Robinson will be picked up tomorrow probably by Colchester or Swindon but the other two will struggle.

Apparently we are in for Robbie Gotts, also from Leeds. Oldham and Motherwell also interested too. Had a stint at Salford last season.

If they want him they won't go away.
Apparently they are also after other right backs so it could depend on how they get on there also. Had Lee Power still been in charge he would have been gone already but hopefully the current incumbents will get a decent deal if we do sell.

Potentially yes. Maybe not right now, but time is on his side.
We have Danny Simpson too but apparently he's a bit past it and Vyner can play there so should be able to ease himself in.

If someone buys one of our young midfielders (Morley/Grant/Brierley), we could maybe do worse than Burgess as (reasonably) experienced cover.

He’s a decent player and to be honest is the one of the transfer listed players if we were to reconsider would be more than ok with it. Got a good all-round game and can play a couple of positions. I think he has been unlucky.

I’ve given up hope on us being rid of the other two. Robinson in particular seems to be happy to train with the youth team and take his salary which is his right I suppose.

We are apparently hoping to bring in five players tomorrow, including two or three strikers.

We certainly need the strikers.

Wouldn't surprise me if Nicky Maynard ends up at a club at this level tomorrow. Had been training with us as he often does to get fit, but he was nowhere near good enough for League One level. We signed Scott Kashket today which means I think Nicky will be seeking an opportunity in this league from tomorrow onwards.

Yeah bit unlucky, with Jake Taylor he was superb in the season before last and those two really were a great partnership for us but with the rise of Conlon to form neither are getting a look in and seem bypassed under DC.

Regarding Walsall I just looked at your forum about players you would like in from Argyle
George Cooper has just come back from injury and played in our cup match loss vs Swansea.
Niall Ennis is injured atm.
Byron Moore is a free agent having left us at the end of the season.

Joey Barton apparently has stated they are bringing in five also. Going to be pretty busy on here today/this evening I reckon. Hope there are enough strikers to go around!

Given his past interest and the fact we're absolutely desperate up front, it wouldn't surprise me if Duff was in for Maynard.

He'll certainly have his suitors. He really wanted to sign for us but he's never been our first choice and I personally think he's finished at L1 level. Kashket coming in means I highly doubt we'll sign him now.

Bristol Rovers signing Anthony Evans who just got paid up by German side Paderborn. Was on loan with us last season and was dreadful. Total passenger and games passed him by. Did okay in the Rovers game though and is Scouse so obvious why Barton has signed him.

Happily stand to be corrected by any Rovers fans on here but bringing in five today just sounds like panic signings. I’d also question the wisdom of their owner in sanctioning this with those court cases hovering over him. That’s not to mention their squad is probably approaching Grimsby size in numbers.

I think Maynard would only be useful to come off the bench last 20 and try and grab a goal at this level now. You never know though.

I remember last January when we needed a striker or two and in the end it didn’t work out, we can’t afford that this time, we definitely need a CB signing today and preferably somebody who can play down the right too.

We have turned down a million for Josh Key
Do Exeter players not have release clauses, or is Exeter's reputation for selling on talent such now that release clauses can be over a million? I was under the impression that any player at this level under a certain age will have a release clause in their contract and it'll probably be in the 200-300k range.
