We don’t look like doing any business despite the fact we needed 2 16 year olds to fill the bench on Saturday and had a right winger at left back. Seems we want to run with a small squad which is fine, but pretty risky if we pick up a few injuries like last season. Given it’s only August and we’re already stretched I would prefer us to add a bit more cover on loan tbh.

Still as long as we don’t sell a crucial player last minute like we did with Doidge a couple of years ago with no time to find a replacement it can’t be too bad.

The Athletic saying Jordan Stevens has agreed to sign for us. Swindon and Bradford fans saying he's shite, so I'm in no doubt he'll be a good signing.

Stevens came through our academy, and got pretty quickly sold to Leeds. He’s got a lot of talent and seemed to be in the first team picture at Leeds for a bit but had some off the pitch issues with a ban for betting and his progress has stalled. Cooper rated him highly and gave him his debut here so should have a chance of helping him reignite.

To be honest, I wasn't convinced he'd make the step up to L2. I thought he might be a player who struggled but he's been a pleasant surprise so far.

I'd sell him for a '6 figure fee' but I strongly doubt that'll be reinvested in the playing side.

He's got very good movement, works hard and a good finisher but I don't think he's great on the ball. I'd be inclined to say he's probably not L1 standard.

I'd agree with that. Though to be honest I wasn't convinced he'd be L2 standard either, so I've been pleasantly surprised so far. His all round game can still be a bit too rough around the edges, but he works hard, gets himself into good positions, and is a clear goal threat.

Cooper done! capped at u19 and u21 level for wales and has made a number of appearances for swansea's first team scoring against forest in last seasons efl cup, just waiting on Cain now.

Pretty poor for the Mudrats last season, even amongst their sea of unmitigated dross. Bit of a nothing player. One of those who is just sort of ‘there’ running around a bit and playing five yard passes.

Both played for us at very different times. As I said earlier, Maynard had been training for us hoping we'd sign him, but the moment we signed Kashket, there was no chance we were going to sign him. I'm glad because he's absolutely finished at League One level. And he looks on the wane at this level too.

Ste Walker was a weird one. Looked impressive in League Two but then the pandemic struck shortly after he scored an excellent goal vs Macclesfield. We had him back in the second half of last season and, bar an excellent goal against Blackpool, he just didn't look cut out for League One football. A nice lad though, and hopefully he can get fit and firing with you lot. A good finisher but sometimes just doesn't look interested, he needs to develop consistency if he wants to remain in the EFL for the future.

If Walsall are signing Byron Moore, Jesus. Most frustrating Academy product we've produced in the 20 years I've been going. Many attributes to forge a career at a higher level but, sadly, very little brains and very little consistency. Would've thought he'd end up in non league by now, it's been 7 years since he left us which has flown by!

He wanted to sign for us for a heavily discounted wage but obviously we had better choices in mind. He'll probably be on more at Tranmere but it's close to home and maybe he wants to settle back in Cheshire permanently now. I do think he's finished mind.

Cheers. I believe we tried to get him when he left FGR but we couldn’t offer him enough back then, so could have some truth.
