Rooney just didn't fit our style of play and system. DC is no mug and sussed it pretty quick, he found himself on the bench very early on. I think we would have kept him on for the season but when Barrow offered us more or less our money back, it was a no brainer.
You know yourself DC is strict with his tactics.
And as he used to say in our post match interviews
” Switch off, Lose your time off “
After a when a player went to sleep and we got punished.
can,t wait for us to meet, going to be bouncing home and away.

Interested in Matt Butcher - Accrington Stanley. They’ve offered him improved terms, but he wants to move back down South. Pompey and Bristol Rovers both reportedly interested.

C’mon Hughesy, work your magic son.

I doubt Mark Hughes' magic will overcome the lad's desire to return South, especially if home town club Pompey are interested

Former Cheltenham midfielder Connor Thomas signed on a 2 year deal.

Pretty happy with that, slightly injury prone but if we can get him on the pitch enough should be more than decent at this level. Guessing he would have had other options at this level aswell so good that we've got in early.

Challinor's a top manager, I think he's destined for at least the Championship. I know Poolies will enjoy their day of rubbing it in when he leaves us but I can say hand on heart I wouldn't begrudge him at all as I know he'd be good enough for the step up. Unless it's Championship or one of those top League One clubs I'd be a little miffed. The only team lower than that I could possibly see is Tranmere because of his links their as a player and it's even closer to home. But I think his next step should be a real good one. But you never know in football, maybe we drop a stinker next season and people will then say he can't do it in the FL etc.

What sort of midfielder is he?

Asking for a friend.

Yous and he will be fine in L2, absolutely nailed On.
Not sure how far he will go up the ladder.
I,m still not convinced he can handle players with big egos.
But I do wish him well, he united everyone under his management Here.

If he can get fit again, that's a cracking signing for Crewe. I was disappointed he wasn't offered a new deal, but I honestly think it was his injury record that did for him.

Callum Camps apparently now also a done deal for us. We love a signing from Fleetwood.

Not really seen much of him; he didn't play in any of our league games, he made a few appearances in the FA Trophy when we were playing the kids/reserve side and always looked very good though.

He was highly rated by our academy staff and had already signed a professional contract at the start of the season.

Made our first signing, Harrison Biggins on a 2 year deal after his release from Fleetwood. I can’t say I’m overly excited but if he can manage to play next season he’ll be a vast improvement on last season

I personally thought he was abysmal for us. One of the weakest footballers I've ever seen and every move seemed to break down with him being brushed off the ball. Some people liked him cos he tried a bit. Genuinely surprised he got as much game time as he did this season in League 1.

Guessing he wanted to go somewhere where he’d been told he’d play regularly.
I doubt our manager will have guaranteed him regular football.

I find the Stockport link hard to believe. The chances of playing regular would probably be similar to here, but Stockport would offer a more appealing contract. Surely if Stockport were in for him he’d have took the better contract. Surely.

You’ll be fine with DC.
He was our best manager in a long long time & got our serial underachievers playing very well.
The only thing I can see bothering him,is the transfer window,he did not like being restricted by it.

It comes from a guy on our messageboard who is very rarely wrong on transfers and it would be a weird one to be wrong on.

Our Midfield three was the basis of our promotion and we’re supposedly bringing in Camps and Lemonheigh-Evans so I could only see this guy being a wildcard really behind five proven players.

Whereas I’m not saying he’s guaranteed a starting spot with you guys but it seems he’s in with a decent chance. I’d also imagine money would be similar if you see him as a potentially important player and we see him in a squad player role.

I don’t know if he’ll end up being a squad player or an important player, but he’s certainly a wildcard like he would have been with you. He’ll have to push some more seasoned football league players out of the team as we also have some proven players believe it or not.

Anyway I've just found out he’s actually a Carlisle lad and still lives in Carlisle. I didn’t know that at first, so that could possibly have been the thing that swayed it in our favour.

Sounds as good a reason as any.

Pure presumption on my part but I thought from reading on here your best midfielder was Riley who was leaving and you finished 20th so thought that there wouldn’t be a lot of proven quality in your squad.

Ruel Sotiriou has signed a new 2 year deal with us.

If he can stay fit and continue how he finished the last 2 months under Wellens he will play higher.
