Minor rumour that you guys are looking to sign Rob Hunt (RB) from us.
He can play both flanks can’t he? It’s possible we’ve explored this, but as far as I can see our defence is set for next season.

Our first choice RB Tom James signed a new deal last week, so Hunt wouldn’t be first choice there.

We’re likely to being in 2 CMs and a striker, won’t be much change in our squad next year, which Wellens has confirmed.

Yes, he's more adept at RB but can also fill in at LB. Useful player to have but got a serious injury so it will be interesting to see how he recovers. I think Wellens loves him so perhaps it's more putting 2+2 together.

Rob Hunt is about as reliable as you can get at this level. Versatile too. Not an attacking bone in his body which is his only downside.

Don't get me wrong I think Hunt is great and as a squad player is ideal to hang around. But I think we've been spoiled with signing Egbo who has been superb and an upgrade on Hunt. Whether we can get Egbo signed for next season is a different story.

Apparently we've paid a fee for him despite him being released?!

Happy with this. Clearly got a lot of talent but just needs the minutes to bring it out and with Hughes I'm more than confident of that happening. Plus its a nice change to sign a striker who isn't the wrong side of 30 and had 15 clubs.

From our local journo: "Understand Young fee related to compensation package and sell-ons."
I thought compensation only had to be paid if the club had offered to extend the contract. Hadn’t Fgr released him?

Agree Egbo is an upgrade but definitely wouldn't be against Hunt sticking around as you say, brilliant squad player.

Absolutely. The retained list (which i assume will be released tomorrow) will be an interesting statement of intent by the owners.

I haven't read anything about him but I think sometimes that's the case when it comes to players reported as having been released, but in actual fact did reject a contract extension. Think for example Tom Taiwo was reported in some media outlets as having been released by Carlisle when he said he wanted away for geographical reasons, so we made a nominal contract offer but then didn't include him on our retained list leading some in the media to assume he was released, and then got into a brief argument with Bradford who wanted to sign him but claimed he'd been released and compensation wasn't owed.

Rumour our end that Walsall want Dodoo, I’ve no axe to grind with him, he didn’t go missing like Hiwula but it’s not really worked out for him here. Hopefully it’s true along with Hiwula, doubt we would ask for a fee for either just to get them off the wage bill and allow us to get some much needed new blood in

heard that as well also a rumour going round we are signing James Norwood and the keeper from Newport forgot his name though.

Barrow defender Matthew Platt linked with us today. What's he like Bluebirds fans?

I believe he has turned down a new contract offer with you?

Another rumour from Scotland is Charlie Adam from Dundee.

Platt's signed. A surprise, as I thought he'd go up a league.

He's been a really good player for us. Had some off days and his distribution isn't always the best, but he gets stuck in and is fairly mobile. I think you'll see him turn into one of the best defenders in this league.

Agree with everything Monkey Tennis says. Glad we haven't lost one of our best players to Stockport for once, and it is a step up regardless of what some of our fans say. Wish him well, has a good career ahead of him.

Is the ‘keeper Joe Day? If so, I think he’s decent. And if you can get Norwood that would be a very good signing as I expect a number of L1 clubs would be keen.

Jamie Walker (Hearts), Harry Lewis (Southampton), Jake Young (FGR) and Matty Platt (Barrow).

Refreshing for us to do business so early into pre-season.

Davis Keilor-Dunn leaving Oldham. Scored a fair few for them from the wing. Be a good signing for someone.

...just seen already mentioned in the in and outs thread.

Suggestions from our resident ITK chap on our forum that Fraser Horsfall has interest from both Cardiff and Bristol City. No chance he is staying with us.

Piergianni now confirmed to have signed for Stevenage alongside Bostwick and some keeper. Am glad of this to stop any of our fans suggesting we try and sign him.
