Sounds like Watt, O'Connor and Vernam will all be leaving which is a massive blow really but nothing we can do if they're moving up a division.

I'm just waiting for the behind the scenes pic of Timi Odusina parachuting into Valley Parade, I'll be heart broken.

I know it's very early days, but I've got a good feeling about the Orient next season.

We've managed to re-sign / retain all of our best players from last season, so we're looking solid in terms on continuity.

We also looked a good side under Wellens towards the end of last season - throw a full pre-season in there, more time to embed the philosophy with the same players, and it all looks pretty positive.

Not to mention we have the best right back in the league in Tom James, our back 5 is excellent for this level, and some very handy attacking options in Paul Smyth, Ruel Sotiriou, Aaron Drinan, etc.

By no means are we going to HMS the league, but I think we'll be eyeing up a top-7 finish, not ruling out top-3 either.

That'd be an easy unveiling video, wouldn't it? Just use a scene from something like Black Hawk Down and no-one would know the difference.

Carlisle only sign our poorer players. They can have Threlkeld if they like.

Think Vernam will be stepping up a league if he goes, which I think he will. Rumours of him going to Lincoln. Not sure if there's any truth in that, but he does live in that particular area.

It's Tomas Holy who is the player linked with us but Nixon has been wrong with us quite a few times in the past...

Tomas Holy on a 2 year deal.

Not convinced he’ll be an upgrade or even on the same level as Mark Howard who we released.

Your final placing was the biggest surprise last season for me, as id tipped you for the auto's, especially after you easily beat us at home

Holy got progressively better for us in the 2.5 years he was with us. He needed an arm round him at times and a bit of patience, but he grew into one of the better keepers in League One during his time with us. Became a real fans favourite and you could see his confidence growing as the fans got behind him. Got a good move to Ipswich and kept a lot of clean sheets for them, but suffered from the Ipswich conundrum of thinking they're better than they are and was dropped. Hasn't played regularly enough since, and little loan spells here and there aren't a true indication of his ability. Play him regularly and you'll have one of the best keepers in this league, hands down. Has his faults of course, but is strong aerially and kicks well. Struggles a bit with low shots as it takes a bit longer to get down to them as you'd expect from a huge man. All in all though I think that's a very good signing. Just give him patience, and get behind him.

Based on our limited experience and the research some of us did when we had him as an emergency loan for a few games, He's (very) big and calming, with a hell of a boot on him but he can't save shots for toffee.

I can see another long season of anguish coming up for you lot.

is the football insider rumour mill accurate or another 12 year old making things up?

They are saying we've agreed a deal with Billy Waters

Alot of rumours suggesting were close to a deal for Charlie Colkett. Ex Chelsea, recently been with Cheltenham. Can't say I know anything about him.

That one was rumoured but then swiftly deleted on twitter and seems to have gone quiet on this end.

We had him during a woeful season and he was exactly the player that wasn't needed in a relegation dog fight. All flicks and tricks and fanny around football. I suspect he had talent and he's gone abroad and played a fair few game on the continent but as he's gone from Chelsea to Cheltenham in league 1 to a league 2 side suspect this could very well be his last chance. The way Crewe play might suit his game, he's a number 10 that can play wide I believe IIRC.

Think we'd be gutted if any of them stayed in this division with another club. Pretty sure they'll be all moving up a level if they do indeed move on.

wouldn't he be more likely to be joining his old boss?
Challinor never played him so that's unlikely, he was at Norwich so might be lining up a move with his old boss Farke to Dortmund.

Out of contract Halifax player signs for Barrow in the biggest news of the summer.

Seems to know where the net is, which is an upgrade on our current crop already.

Echo all this and I hope he can regain some form from regular football. He does seem like a great guy too. Good luck to him.
