People in the NatLge think there is little difference between that and thebottom half of the EFL, We,ll see.
Not me. I think it'll be interesting to see who can make step up. I think it's just a refreshing approach from us to bring players in from lower down to see if they can flourish. Some will sink, some will swim.

Top half, flirt with the play-offs and it'd be a good season from us IMO. The chink in armour will be when Challinor goes.

Proof is in the pudding, let's see where we all land when the transfer window closes, then pick the bones out of it, Stockport could have THE top budget in this league and still describe it as a 'top 10 budget' if they were being coy about it.
I don't think signing York City midfielders is the work of a top budget in this league somehow when you see Bradford, Mansfield, Salford inevitably flexing their guns plus I'm sure a fair few others.

Like I said, it's way to early to fret over budgets, fire up the Excel spreadsheet and reconvene on 1st September.

Do I look like a man who's fretting? I'm extremely relaxed.

Our model is sustainable and non flashy. Plus lets not forget the Scott Holding money from La Edgeley academy after his move to Watford.

Sounds like Lincoln fans are expecting Charlie Vernam to sign for them in the next few days, maybe even today.

Where have you read that? Be a good move for him if true, which I think it quite possibly could be. Think he still lives in that area?

Dom Telford confirmed as being on the move as per his Twitter post from around half an hour ago.

….and of course, there’s rumours now circulating he’s Bradford bound.

Busy day today then. Vernam re-signing with Derbyshire, Odusina, Smallwood and now Telford to be announced. Gotta love Twitter :woot:

Lincoln fan at work (although I think his intel might be their forum/Twitter so make of that what you will) and it's been mentioned in a Town Whatsapp group this morning too. Could all be bollocks of course. And yeah, he still lives somewhere between Lincoln and Grimsby I think as it usually means he has about five threads on our forum every window regarding whether or not he'd be up for coming back even despite the fact he's starting for you lot a division above us.

The longer this drags on, the more I think he’ll re-sign. Although, I did say that regarding Paudie.

If Vernam does re-sign, it will be today. So, we haven’t got too long to wait.

About as refreshing as a NatLge clubs signing EFL players, Desperate to get to the promised land.

Feel a bit for the lad, it feels like over half the windows over the last few years have been a bit of a Vernam circus. I think he just needs to settle down at a club and crack on. I do think both Bradford and Lincoln are decent options for him though.

Bit of a kick in the balls the Vernam one, I wasn’t that bothered about losing Paudie (was inevitable), don’t care about Watt but Vernam is the one we’ll struggle to replace - a ball carrier who can score. The last time he was in L1 he lasted six months, I don’t think the same will happen this time somehow.

Better start signing some first team players here because the first eleven is weaker than it was last year currently.

Agreed. I'm feeling a little disheartened now. Watt to Lincoln next?

I know little about Vernam apart from his half decent L1 spell at Burton a few years back (not sure why he left?).

It was one that was mentioned the week after the season ended so it's been in the pipeline for a while.

Best of luck to him, won’t be easy to replace will keep an eye how he gets on as he seemed to struggle with Burton and would expect Lincoln will be in a similar boat to them at the time.

I’d honestly be a bit concerned if I were them, they’re using our strategy of picking off better players at failing clubs as we did with Scunthorpe, difference being we were in the same league.

Anyway it’s league 2 time to see who we replace him with, it’s going to be either an exciting or proper damp squib of a day after all the build up!

He got dropped I think, don’t think he did that well tbh think he scored one or two goals. But regular football will have helped think he’ll do better this time but time will tell, before Hughes came in I’m not sure any of our fans would have given a shit had he left. He got something like 5 goals in his last 10 games but about 5 in the previous year before altogether.

Paul Hurst is a solid manager, I think we'll both do alright next season. How long have you McAtee tied down for?
Just this season but we've offered him improved terms, just waiting on his decision. He's said he's going nowhere for now already but he's very emotive, we'll see if he sticks to that once his agent gets in his ear. Not expecting him to sign those improved terms. If he carries on how he finished last season I could see him going for decent money in January. If he signs that deal I'll be buzzin'.
