I thought Turner was decent with us last season. We had both Turner and Sam Hornby on loan at various points of the season as cover, both played a fair few games and though we've now signed Hornby, I wouldn't have been disappointed to sign either of them this summer.
Sounds positive enough. I think he'll probably be second choice as it stands behind Maynard-Brewer as I'm not sure we'd bring a loanee keeper in with the expectation to be sat on the bench.

Doesn't seem like a bad option to have on standby though - when we won the league last time we were here in 2012/13 our reserve keeper was Tommy Forecast, so we're already a step ahead of where we were that year!

I used to think it gave a good gauge of input from fans but in the main it's just sad little kids and weird middle aged men who have nothing better to do than try and wind as many people up as possible on it.

Isnt this exactly what the Town End Forum is? Its full of opinionated people who's only experience of matchday is watching on Ifollow!

If you say so Dirk.

Conroy has done 2 ACLs over the last few years. Rumours he threw his toys out the pram a few times. I’d have liked him to stay but he was probably one of the top earners. Payne will be off today as well

Do you think it's strange we didn't even at least offer Dion a new contract? Maybe he had decided to move on and it was a 'mutual' decision. For him to be lining up next season at Crawley just seems a bit strange. That said at the moment they are showing more ambition than us based on signings to date.

We've got a lot of work to do in July for sure.

We needed a slightly more experienced centre back so Neil Byrne fits the bill. Although only 29 he’ll be one of the oldest in our squad!

Looks like a good signing based off the thoughts of Hartlepool fans so happy with that!

Wages probably. Plus he got a bit stroppy at times. Got some undeserved flak from the fans pissed him off I expect

Said earlier he likes yellow cards.
But his commitment is faultless.
And don,t forget him and Timi are used to playing along side each other.

Last season he would've been the youngest.

Why do I feel like this season is Craig Harrison part deux.

Hope they prove us wrong with some bastard signings and plenty of them, we just need Sestonpoolie to announce them, no pressure :pmsl:
Sometimes we can forget, Our defensive record last season was abysmal.
Although i believe we have the 2 best attacking fullbacks in the league(wait for it)

So maybe sorting the defence out was/is PHs priority.

Couple of seasons ago you had the exact opposite situation.

Superb at doing oppositions team talks for them!
Let's not forget Dion Conroy's finest moment:
"We play better football than them, we're better footballers, so we’ve just got to take care of the physical side of the game and we’ll be alright."
Prize bell end and it was one of the reasons they got beat in the play off semi final. Talk about stupid.

Apart from his blinding pace Timmy Abraham is useless, just not a footballer. Shockingly easy to dispossess and then fouls the player who has taken the ball off him. It's like watching a 10-year-old.

Sam Sargeant has signed a new one year contract extension. We have 3 keepers now for next season if we need them.

This also means every out of contract player who was offered a new deal has signed them - can’t recall this happening much with us, if ever.

We’ve also loaned youngster Matt Young to Wealdstone for 6 months - if he does well there, then we’ll likely extend his contract.

That’s similar to Chesterfield’s Jeff King who in an interview last season when Chesterfield were top early doors stated that Chesterfield were ‘The best team in the league by a country mile’ before they eventually scraped into 7th place and then lost the play off semi to Solihull.

Can’t say I know too much about Neil Byrne. Thoughts Pools fans?
Solid enough, but is reluctant to go in where it hurts, hence our dreadful defending at set pieces.
He was ok to get us stable, but i think you need better if going for promotion.
